With all the rumours about Van Gaal wanting Strootman (if LvG is appointed and when Strootman is fit), does this put an end to our pursuit of William Carvalho?
1.) You would think so wouldn't you! The only question mark is Strootman's long term fitness following his knee surgery and how well he can come back. But as its been pointed out, LvG is a huge admirer of KS and sees him as a leader and a rock in midfield.
2.) Strootman is another who is too slow and after the injury he's had who knows what lasting damage it may have done.If he is to be signed i'd give him another season with roma to assess how he's doing first.
3.) I wouldn't imagine it would. Through reading into lvg style it would suggest he will play a 433 in which the midfield has a defensive player, an attacking player and someone to link them much like barca. Mata would obviously be our attacking and I would see strootman as more of a link (box to box) than defensive hence a space for carvalho aswell
Moyes is a poor manager. Just look at Everton, they're playing good football and challenging for a Champions League spot. Bit coincidental the year after Moyes leaves they play good football and win more games? I think the "glass ceiling" that was attributed to Everton should be attributed to Moyes. United are set up to win against West Ham etc, the lesser lights really. But against City, a club who can win things, it's all "let's not lose" and horrible tactics. I firmly believe this man shouldn't even have been on the short list for the United job and he will continue to embarrass us. Moyes out.
