Here are three reasons why Darmian would be the perfect full back for the Old Trafford outfit:
Young player with loads of potential: A product of the famed AC Milan youth system, the boy from Legnano has immense pedigree to be one of the best in the world. He debuted at 16 but was soon shipped out to Padova on loan. His rise to fame was amplified by quick moves to Palermo and then Torino in 2011 and in the 2014 World Cup grabbed the attention playing against England in the group stages.
Darmian excelled under former Torino manager Giampiero who preferred a 3-5-2 setup. The youngster was always the one who would perform his defensive and attacking duties with great aplomb. His dynamism on the ball and great vision are traits unheard of a right back and his passing pin point passing abilities will be a great bonus.
Darmian will be worth every penny: Darmian has already attracted the likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona but along with United, its Serie A side Napoli who are pressing hard to acquire his services. The Partneopei have already offered cash worth €7m along with a couple of players including Jorginho and Duvan Zapata for the full back.
New manager Maurizio Sarri is well known in Italy who prioritizes a defensive discipline over attacks and Darmian would be a perfect in either of his preferred 4-3-1-2 and 4-2-3-1 formations. United however can lure the player offering Champions League football but will need to act first before others vulture over for the 25 year old.
Right player at the right club: Darmian is one of the most intelligent full backs across Europe possessing an incredible work rate and game reading abilities. Louis Van Gaal has always been known to give youngsters a chance and Darmian would flourish under the Dutch legend should he a make a move to the lucrative Premier League. Any team who acquires Darmian's signature will be getting a player who is also a brilliant tackler and one whose consistency defines his incredible ability to make a quick transition from defense to attack.

Thanks Resbon, helpful detail.
Hopefully we will see some youngsters flourish under the Dutch legend, it was just written off squad players last season for the most part.
