not saying he's not good (buttner) but not man unt level, remember was a winger and it shows bur more one footed valancia, any can say he passed a ball with his right foot would be lying - not talking about shot. anyone think he will be here next year ed2 {Ed002's Note - I saw him as a temporary solution as Willems was not deemed ready at the time.}

redmatti

1.) Do you think we could return for Willems this summer then Ed002?

Thanks {Ed002's Note - I doubt it.}

2.) Any idea if we are still targeting a LB and if so who then?

Thanks,

rpc

3.) So what about Valencia and young? Did u ever see their left foot! Apart from standing on it!
Nomidfield

4.) I don't know what people's problems are with buttner? We buy kagawa and because he's not been as good as people expected everyone is like aww it's his first season give him a break next season he will be good! It's also buttners first season, not had as many opportunities and is a young lad! And from what I've seen of him works 100x harder than Evra and looks a much more promising player! Some people need to give him a break! Yesterday he played well and so what if he doesn't use his weak foot? Oh apart from that strike he had with his right foot? Get a grip! Look at smalling! He dances around the ball just so he doesn't have to touch it with his left foot! But he's still a great cb!

5.) Just a quick thing about Buttner: he may have been a winger before, but he was turned into a left back at the same age as Evra was turned from a striker into a left back, also when he was 23 Evra had just been selected in the preliminary squad, but omitted from the final 23 for euro 2004 and the exact same thing happened at the same age to Buttner last summer.
I know these are just coincidences, but it does show that Buttner still has time on his side to turn into a very good LB, and I think we would all admit that on yesterdays showing he is improving

Jaxer

(ps I don't personally think he will turn into a 1st choice, but I'm willing to support him and give him the benefit of the doubt whilst we are still looking for someone who will)

6.) Buttner was superb yesterday. He has a big future at the club.
PerthDave

7.) I think Buttner definitely has a future at United. He's got a thunder bolt strike with his left and like others have said he's got a fantastic work rate, he was sprinting about the pitch right upto the 90th minute and beyond against Sunderland. Something you would not see from Evra. Give him a couple of seasons at least before you slate him!

Ozwald

8.) I think that he was one of our best players against Sunderland.

9.) Roberto Carlos never had a right foot, neither does the likes of ashley cole or Leighton baines. Probably the stupidest comment iv heard in the world. because giggsy has no right foot does that mean he has always been a crap player lol? Wise up

Robbo

Ed02 I saw the article about the sale of Liverpool on a couple of web sites and the Liverpool sightings page. What do you make of it?{Ed002's Note - You need to ask this on the Liverpool page.}

who do you think we will go for guys at the LB position, buttner clearly good going forward but terrible going back and is also probably the most one footed player I have EVER seen, opinions guys?

redmatti

1.) Buttner was actually using his weaker foot, nowhere as near 1 footed as valencia

2.) He almost found the top corner with his right TBF. I thought he did OK. I'll guess that we'll stick with Evra for 1 more season and have Buttner and possibly Fabio as extra cover.

3.) Keep Evra 1 more season see how Fabio/ Buttner go.

Maybe in a few games next season try Buttner on the wing, couldn't do any worse than Young.

4.) I think Valencia and young are the most one footed players I've seen in our side. Buttner had a very good shot with his right foot, goalie made a good save.
Valencia and young are both rubbish and should be sold. Add Anderson to that too. {Ed004's Note - I don't get it, it appears everyone that comes on here slating utd after wins or during games never leave a name, for example, this is atleast the fourth negative post in a row from the same poster}

5.) I actually really like buttner, I think if he went out on loan to a team like wigan to play as a wingback he'd really shine and give us a season for fabio to challange evra for the spot and imulate rafa

6.) My wee lad plays left back - he always knows when the winger is taken off early, he's done a good job. Same with Buttner today - yes he got caught out of position a few times, but he made the ground up and got back in time. Plus a great effort with his RIGHT foot.

its because their scared ed. Its not been a vintage season at all. But if anyone had said back in the summer that by easter we'd be top and fifteen points clear you'd have got some strange looks. I think the main thing we've gone for this season is just winning and getting the points, back to basics on not conceding with a young keeper and a defence which has been rotated a lot. The entertaining stuff can come when we sort the weak spots. Personally I want anderson sold. If young stayed or left i'd be happy either way. I think a lot of fans have been spoilt and don't remember the rubbish we had to watch back in the day. MrE
