DONE DEAL! a web site, reveal Strootman as Moyes first signing £15 million.
a web site not the most reliable, but news nonetheless!
Karlmarx

Believable51 Unbelievable25

The website is the opposite of being 'definitely on side' not just rumours but cryptic too!
Karlmarx

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a done deal and the website is caughtofside. com
so s*** and rubbish news they haVe there.
so don't believe anuthing you see from the site.

MR UTD

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes' first signing was the argentine right back!

MS

Agree1 Disagree0

This is one signing I really don't want, to be honest haven't seen him in Euro u21's but have never been impressed with him for PSV, isn't creative and more of a Carrick type player than a creator which we are crying out for
SC

Uruguayan

Agree0 Disagree0

Varela is a uraguyan.
mick the red fireman.

Agree0 Disagree0

Varela wasn't moyes first signing he was on trial b4 moyes even got job! lb

Agree0 Disagree1

"More of a Carrick than a creator?" Carrick is an incredibly creative player that makes United's midfield tick. I personally think Strootman would be a great signing.

Matt

Agree1 Disagree1

I'm afraid Varela was Moyes first signing. On trial end of last season, went home and then signed with Moyes as manager. Deal may have been in place but he is definitely Moyes first signing

Agree0 Disagree1

Matt I suggest you watch a bit more football Carrick is a great player yeah who does make United tick but he is not creative in the mould of a xavi thiago iniesta mata etc More keeps things ticking over for others to create chances. If you think that's creative then good for you mate you obviously haven't played football to a decent lecel
SC

Agree1 Disagree0

A web site really twists stories with there headlines to grab your attention. Really though, they are simply putting up all the rumours from papers worldwide, so it is simply tabloid talk and nothing else, a good source to find gossip and paper stories IF you ignore the misleading headlines
Invisible STuey

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes, is not the manager to July 1. he has signed nobody or sold anybody.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was acutally thinking of Tribal football with last post doh, a web site is actually total bs shat sorry
Invisible STuey

Agree0 Disagree0

Is a creator the new technical term for a playmaker haha

Agree0 Disagree0

KarlMarx I see you are continuing to peddle BS to the Masses, as you did in days gone by.

Why don't posters like you, READ, INWARDLY DIGEST previous threads before you waste our time with rubbish.
Varela was Moyes's first signing - Highly publiscised. Please Note

@carryonvending did you not read I acknowledge it was from a not very reliable source! Karlmarx never spoke bs to masses!

Agree0 Disagree0

SC Carrick might not be able to take the ball around players himself like Thiago and Iniesta can but he's still creative in the sense that he can pick out a good pass or through ball, just one example Chica's opening goal against Chelsea last season, remember that?

You don't actually sound like you know much yourself considering Xavi and Carrick's playing styles are more similar than say Xavi and Iniesta.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree1

SC. I guess your interpretation of creative is obviously different to mine. Doesn't creative mean someone that gets involved in the creation of a goal? Carrick played more forward passes than anyone else in the league last season, which surely means he is involved in the creation of goals. Just because he isn't playing the final pass and isn't beating 3 players in the process doesn't make him any less creative.

Ed, are we still interested in the lad from Derby, Will Hughes. I remember reading about several clubs inquiring but all talk of a move seems to have gone quiet.
Thanks in advance.

Sparky

Believable9 Unbelievable8

Think Newcastle look like the club most likely to sign him.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

As i'm a local derby lad and a manchester united fan I believe will hughes is a great young midfielder with a lot of potential and I would say if united were interested then they would have already made a bid and no bids have been made for him and will has recently accepted a new contract at derby

Agree0 Disagree0

It will be us to sign will lol

Edds. Can you confirm that we have made a offer for Thiago? {Ed002's Note - I can confirm that Manchester United made a couple of offers two years ago for him but no recent offer has yet been made. Howver, I expect an offer from Manchester United to soon be made as there is clear interest in the player. Do not discount an offer from elsewhere - notably Bayern Munich or even just possibly Manchester City. There also remains a thought that Barcelona may look to include Thiago part of an offer for another player from another club - so perhaps there is a little twist to come.}

Believable37 Unbelievable5

We need Thiago to want a move to MU. If he is looking for more cash then we may lose out. I will say that I think he will put his career first and go for playing time. He will play more at MU than at City or BM so that could be a deciding factor. I do wonder who the other club Ed is referring to. Barca want Luiz, I hope Chelsea do not get offered him as he may have a spot in the Chelsea midfield.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed002. So the interest is indeed serious and not just paper talk.

Do you know when Moyes will address his first press conference and do you expect a few signings to be unveiled with him?

REDFAITH {Ed002's Note - My wife is polishing my crystal ball right now.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Any ideas what that twist maybe? Perhaps Ronney going the other way? Possibly Nani or Vidic? Interesting

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Barca want Mata and will offer him as part of a deal for Mata Red91

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely if we meet his buyout clause then he can decide and barca can't make him part of any swap.
mick the red fireman.

Agree2 Disagree0

Ed 002
can u clear 1 thing
thiago has 18m release clause. if that has been activated it is solely upon him where he want to move and at which condition. then how come barca offer him for some other player if he don't want to move there?

rodio17 {Ed002's Note - If he doesn't want to move to anther club then he doesn't have to. Don't get so wrapped up in the "release" clause etc. - it is simply a distraction.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thiago first Moyes signing. Trust me

Ed are we interested in van ginkel or is it just paper talk after I think he said he'd like to play with rvp? Also do we hold any interest in Adam Maher? Cheers in advance {Ed002's Note - There is interest in Van Ginkel from Twente, PSV, Chelsea and Ajax. The interest from Manchester United amounts at this time to an enquiry about availability. The player has expressed a concern that a move to London regarding sitting on the bench - although someone associated with Chelsea has spoken with him to try to persuade him it would be a good career move for him to make - and right now it seems likely he will. There could be a chance that he will stay in the Netherlands on loan for a year before making the move.}

Believable3 Unbelievable3

So ed do you think if we fail with thiago he could be an option? {Ed002's Note - No idea.}

Ed002 if you get a free 5 minutes could you update us on the Strootman front, all seems to have gone a bit quiet. Have United seen someone else they might prefer?
Thanks,
Paul {Ed002's Note - There is nothing new really. Interest from Schalke 04 was rebuffed; AC Milan would still like to take the player; but I will stick with the view that he will move to Manchester United.}

are the reports that Manchester united are going to bid 15m for Van Ginkel true?

Reports that Ronaldo is about to sign a five year contract with Madrid. Obv media reports can be wrong, but it appears the possibility of a deal has gone. -kg

Believable30 Unbelievable6

I don't think there was ever any possibility of it really! Sad as it is to say, I think Ronaldo was only ever after the big pay day at Real. You have to remember he is very much interested in personal accolades. His "sadness" was apparently due to Reals lack of support in obtaining the Ballon D'or. Which Messi has beaten him to for the past 4 years. So to be able to now say he would be the best paid player in the world is obviously a bit of a victory in hie eyes.

I could be, and hope I am wrong though.

Agree0 Disagree0

WHAT?

Media reports can be wrong? You are kidding me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well one newspaper says he's signing a new contract and another says he's signing for United - which one to believe? all we can do is wait and see until it is officially confirmed

Agree0 Disagree0

Which to believe? I'll give you a clue, it will not be the signing for Utd one. For his fee and wages I would much rather 3 world class players. Wouldn't everyone else?

Agree0 Disagree4

I for one hope its true in a way, we can then start to look at realistic transfer targets and put this distraction to bed. we do not need a will he, won't he dragging on all summer!

would love himback, but realisticallynot going to happen people. let's go get strootman, thiago and baines!

Agree0 Disagree0

Read on another site that he's been advised to wait another 18months before getting his dream move back to OT. Utd can't offer what Monaco are offering for the player at the mo and so if he waits then he'd be given a massive signing on fee as he'll be free to arrange a pre contract agreement with any other club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Noname

Are you 100% ronaldo will not be coming to Utd this summer? are you ronaldo?

Only a number of people know what is going on behind the scenes - its all rumours, no one from United, Ronaldo himself and RM have confirmed or denied on any transfer activity.

So who's to say its not happening?

As for your question? if there was a hint of a chance to re-sign Ronaldo I would take it, Ronaldo will be better than these 3 world class players ;)

Agree3 Disagree0

Well I would bet my bottom$$$ that ronaldo is using utd to get a juicy deal at rm, not a chance we can afford him, money better spent on 3/4 quality signings. why would madrid take 65m from utd but not 80/85 from psg/monaco, you are dreaming if you think ronnie is coming in this window, maybe another 2yrs time. before you slate me, its my view, that's all!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that paying mega bucks for CR7 would be a very backward move, looking at past glories, rather than looking forward. It's a shame that we don't appear to have interest in Drexler, he looks really good. I'd settle for Thiago, Fillaini/Mendy, Shaw and Drexler over CR7 any day. I loved his play when he was at United, but his egoism and all round smarmyness make him a really annoying individual. He's like an overage boy band member. Cracking footballer though he is, I think we should be looking for players of 26 and under.

ED002, is there an actual interest in Marchisio or is it just paper talk? {Ed002's Note - Someone "associated" with Chelsea spoke with Berater about Marchisio and was told they were expecting an approach from Monaco and they would look at that before considering anything else. I don't see Marchisio moving to Old Trafford this summer.}

Believable2 Unbelievable11

We have no interest in him

Melwing28

Cheers Ed,

He's a fantastic player but like you said I just can't see him playing for United.
