Eds, is there any truth in the rumour that Kross has signed a new deal with Bayern?

Believable6 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I expect he will, but as far as I know he has not done yet.}

I have thought all along that Kroos will sign a new deal. We have to go for Gundogan and William Carvalho. Obviously I would like Cesc or Vidal but they are unrealistic to say the least.

Agree1 Disagree1

I agree that we are better off going for Gundogan, but with Fellaini in the squad already then a move for another such defensive midfielder seems foolish especially when you consider the cost it would take to sign Carvalho.

Personally I would look at our midfield and think that the serious lack of creation from that area is of far more concern. With that in mind and with Carrick being another year older and with Gundogans injuries over this season I would move for make a move for Granit Xhaka as well as Gundogan.
He can play as a deep lying play maker or as a box to box player. He is strong in the tackle so would offer a slightly stronger defensive option to Gundogan, but can still create with his excellent passing.

that way we would have Fellaini as a defensive option, Xhaka as a deep lying playmaker and Gundogan as a box to box player. Along with Powell as a more creative option, and Fletcher and Carrick as back ups.

Eds, do you know if the rumours that Zaha being sold are true? I hope he gets his chance but is it likely that Moyes won't give him one?

Believable10 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - There is every chance that Zaha will be moved on in the summer.}

If that is true that is a disgrace, considering how many chances others have had, year after year, and how much people on here want Moyes to be given a chance.

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - I suspect people don't think he is good enough at the highest level. Manchester United needs to rebuild and have chosen to do it under David Moyes. He inherited an aging squad that needs a lot of rework over the next 18 months. The club will be spending a lot of money to get back where they think they should be and will need to build for the future by bring youngsters through and buying young talent that will perhaps need a couple of years on loan to flourish.}

It does really annoy me that Zaha hasn't had a chance. Even people like Obertan and Bebe did. He deserves to stay in and around the first team next season, especially if he is not causing any problems. Selling for £5 million would be ridiculous. I think he could make it here given a chance, he is that sort of exciting player that can scare the oppositions defence.

Agree1 Disagree0

If we do sell Zaha this summer, it'll be one of if not the most awful decision Moyes has made since taking charge. Zaha is a little bit rough around the edges but it's obvious to see he's got sh!t loads of talent, maybe his ego might stop his development but that's the managers job to sort out.

Agree1 Disagree0

Seems Zaha thinks he doesn't need to graft also he obviously isn't pulling up trees on loan, maybe he just doesn't have the extra will power to do it

Agree1 Disagree0

Perhaps SAF just made a mistake buying him and Moyes is right to move him on, did anybody even consider that? :roll eyes:
He's barely playing for Cardiff City, has a poor attitude by most accounts and IMO was massively overrated due to his inflated price tag. Besides Ronaldo and Rooney SAFs young signings were mostly no goers.
I've never brought in to the Zaha hype, he's mostly a circus player. Lingard is better.

Agree2 Disagree0

He has been given plenty of chances to impress by going out on loan to a premier league team.

Look at what Wellbeck and Cleverly did, returned from loan spells straight into the 1st team squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we are apparently going to bring in younger players then I'd start to worry as Moyes has never developed a talent before!
Moyes buys 2nd rate players or ones that are past their sell buy date

Agree0 Disagree0

"Motes has never developed talent" again.
Baines and Coleman became top PL full backs under him. Osman and Jagielka became England internationals under him and the latter aren't exactly blessed with talent. Moyes has been poor in a number of ways but people just seen to find a negative and make it fit to Moyes putting no thought into what they're saying.

Kevin Sheedy Everton academy coach commented recently on this

"All of you out there Moyes was never interested in our youth team or players, " Sheedy, who played 314 times for Everton from 1982 to 1992, tweeted after the Red Devils' 3-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

"In my 7 years moyes showed no intereset [sic] in our youth team."

Asked on the social media site whether that must have "done his head in", Sheedy replied: "Yep, he did.".

Press Association Sport understands when Everton became aware of those tweets they asked Sheedy to remove them and they were subsequently deleted.

However, his criticism of Moyes' tactics - "Punt the ball up to Fellaini. Great viewing, " - in Sunday's defeat remained.

In response to another follower Sheedy, a former Republic of Ireland international, wrote: "We now have a Manager who wants to win games. COYB."

Still think the same Prodigal?

Agree0 Disagree0

You have your own eyes ears and brain don't you? So because some guy from Everton has a chip on his shoulder / disagrees I should change my mind? If Paul Merson or Stan Collymore think United should be a conference side should I agree with them?
Look at the players I listed in the post above, he developed those players. He's obviously not as capable in nurturing attacking talent but that wasn't the statement. Even then, he threw Barkley in at 17 where he became MoM, then had a leg break and was just starting to come back into it before Moyes left. Martinez now takes the credit for supposedly giving Barkley his chance. As usual, the Moyes hate campaign is just trying to artificially Blame him to any news coming out of OT.

Agree0 Disagree0

Prodigal7

Are you really saying that's development?
how long as Moyes at Everton for and you have suggested 4 people that he developed. quite shocking to even wanna state that.
Osman. really.
Jagielka. the same player who ONLY plays now for England as the choice of CBs for the team are not great anymore.
Moyes has no development skills at all

Agree0 Disagree0

There was also that young striker a while back, you may have heard of him, got his chance under Moyes then got snapped up by a bigger team, Wayne something I think it was.

Some websites reporting that Adem Ljajic will be coming in and a £10 million deal is moving swiftly. Moyes wants another versatile forward but wants to spend the bulk of his budget on defence and midfield so a cheaper option for the forward line makes sense. The window after then we can chafe someone.

Believable3 Unbelievable29

We rejected an option to buy him in 2009 and he can't get into Roma's team this year.

Agree0 Disagree0

We couldn't secure a work permit for him, so we chose not to keep him.

Agree1 Disagree0

I would prefer the guy from inter.

Agree0 Disagree0

He would never sign for us given how we treated him back in the day. He had a nervous breakdown of sorts when we pulled the plug on the deal back in 09. Would love to see him back but do not see it happening. Ever.

Agree1 Disagree0

I haven't seen him play, so a genuine question. Is he going to improve us?

The last I heard was that he got into a fight with his coach (was it Rossi of Fiorentina?) while he was being substituted. Now, I don't know about you guys but that does sound a bit disturbing.

Ed!
Is the rumours about Everton wanting Cleverley for 15m£ really true? If so I would reserve him a plane to send him safely :)
and what do people think about cristian ericksen. He will be improvement to our midfield and also increase our squad depth . further I don't think he would cost much

Believable17 Unbelievable11

{Ed025's Note - 15 pence it was mate, and that is overpriced imo..

It would be a good move for him and for us. Powell is more than capable of replacing his squad position. If we could start next season with central midfield options of Gundogan, Carvalho, Fellaini, Carrick and Powell I would be happy. I could see Fletcher possibly going up to Scotland or something, Anderson gone permanently, Cleverley off as you said and Giggs retire. If we can get Ginter that's another one that can play in midfield as well as Jones if we are pushed.

As a said note, again linked with Fabregas haha.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did you not read the story correctly? We're actually paying Everton £15m to take Cleverley away.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep Eriksen will be very cheap, Levy is well known for undercharging.

Agree3 Disagree0

Why so much stick for Cleverly?

OK he hasn't had a great season and he will never be a world beater but he can develop into a solid squad player.

Remember the stick given to Darren Fletcher in his early days?

Agree1 Disagree0

I think it's absolutely disgusting talking of one of our players like this. he wears our shirt with pride. I'm embarrassed by supporters like you. I can almost guatentee this. That boy has put more effort into getting where he is than most of you in any aspect of life.

Srestha all respects mate. dare I say it. I've actually seen glimpses of better football to come this season than last. pockets of it. all it takes is the confidence. what better than this match to get the andrenalin going?

I'm sure I'm not the only one to see it. And that this season has gone pretty much as expected.
Rafael if he's playing Jones Rooney De Gea Vidic all top Quality players Welbeck was great against Madrid buttner could be a suprise if he playing? Januzai Fellaini Valencia and even Young are capable of better. I keep in mind that Sir Alex built squads buying players with sound principles behind that. whether they work out or not. they are capable. I'm quietly confident.

play well, bit of luck. never know.
