Eds, is there any truth in the rumour that Kross has signed a new deal with Bayern?
{Ed002's Note - I expect he will, but as far as I know he has not done yet.}
1.) I have thought all along that Kroos will sign a new deal. We have to go for Gundogan and William Carvalho. Obviously I would like Cesc or Vidal but they are unrealistic to say the least.
2.) I agree that we are better off going for Gundogan, but with Fellaini in the squad already then a move for another such defensive midfielder seems foolish especially when you consider the cost it would take to sign Carvalho.
Personally I would look at our midfield and think that the serious lack of creation from that area is of far more concern. With that in mind and with Carrick being another year older and with Gundogans injuries over this season I would move for make a move for Granit Xhaka as well as Gundogan.
He can play as a deep lying play maker or as a box to box player. He is strong in the tackle so would offer a slightly stronger defensive option to Gundogan, but can still create with his excellent passing.
that way we would have Fellaini as a defensive option, Xhaka as a deep lying playmaker and Gundogan as a box to box player. Along with Powell as a more creative option, and Fletcher and Carrick as back ups.
