I was told on Friday that utd will not sell rooney end off that's from some one who works with the players tb

Believable21 Unbelievable48

Everyone's got a price, are you telling me if an absolutely ridiculous offer came in for him we still wouldn't sell

19JackC94

Agree1 Disagree1

Jack, be serious at this rate who will come in with a ridiculous offer? No one, Rooney will not be sold because there is not enough interest.

Ozwald

Agree2 Disagree0

I think MUFC are waiting for Rooney to hand in a transfer request. If then a £25+M bid did come in he would be sold.
Redchad

Agree1 Disagree1

He's a liability now to team spirit and if Chelsea are prepared to bid £40m then he should go.

Agree0 Disagree0

Plus if the player himself wants to leave, then there is nothing anyone at OT can do about it. Not going to let a 200k+ a week player do his stuff in the reserves.

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree that most people have a price, but don't think we're likely to get a ridiculous offer for Rooney. Part of me says let him go if he's not committed to the club, the other part is concerned that with our current lack of activity, if we do sell, we'll be unable to get a suitable replacement and end up weaker than last.

Our main rivals have all strengthened, like many on here I'm hoping we have something in the pipeline but I have to admit, I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with the same squad as last season, possibly minus Rooney!

Charla

Agree5 Disagree0

Id drive him to Chelsea for £30m. He is a bad potato and needs to leave. don't care how good he has been, for the last 2. 5 years he has been a festering sore and particularly the last 18 months.

Im hoping for some world class signings to fill the gap but to be honest i'd rather see Wellbeck in there that the fat scouser, at least he has passion in buckets to play for United.

Agree1 Disagree1

Everyone is calling Rooney but your all reading silly articles made up by lazy journo's.
Rooney hasn't publicly come out and said that he wants to leave.
Only Rooney and Manchester United know what is going on.
It drives me insane that some of you pick up the Sun, Daily Fail etc read it and think that it's the gospel truth.
Lets wait and see what happens before you all slaughter him.
Some of you are saying get rid, sell him but believe me if he goes to Chelsea he will have a superb season and I have no doubt in my mind will easily notch up 20-25 goals in a season so just be carefull what you wish for.
Until Wayne Rooney officially comes out and hands in a transfer we don't know what is going on.
Lets not forget this lad has been a fantastic player for United and carried United at times from when Ronaldo left the club.
In my eyes he and RVP are the only two world class players.

Simmo

Agree4 Disagree0

I actually think the situation has changed now Rooney has refused to travel to the AIK game and with press rumblings of problems with him in the dressing room there is no way back for him

Agree0 Disagree1

How do you kno he refused to travel? The press? Well it doesn't matter we can play thiago or hazard instead because according to the press they we nailed on to be in our squad. Don't base your opinions on what the press say

Agree3 Disagree0

NOTHING made up about this one, Rooney REFUSED yes REFUSED to travel to Sweden. He`s going END OF!!

Agree0 Disagree2

Lads I really think wel keep him the World Cup is next year and if he has a good season plays well in brazil his price won't change if anythin hel increase in value cause there'll b more interest. Just fingers crossed cause he has been the hub of our team for the past few years. I would b sad to see him go but every1 has fallings out with there bosses and want a fresh start never mind the money or situation iv gone for bosses when they undermine my doings I'm sure he feels the same. anyways wel find out more on Friday at rio's testimonial

Duffers

Agree0 Disagree0

Put the boot on the other foot and ask why then hasn't he come out and declared his undying love for united, and told us all he desperately wants to stay.

Cos he doesnt. Therefore I don't want him in a red shirt.

Agree2 Disagree1

If Rooney is allowed to leavewithout at least an equivilent replacement would be gross bad management and set a marker to the quality to. expect this season BazRed

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry anniewithoutmakeup

Do you know something we don't?
Your seem definate about this Rooney situation, can you enlighten us with why nothing is made up or were you reading The Sun paper at the time of typing?

Simmo

Agree3 Disagree0

Woodward will not SELL Rooney purely on money grounds.

If we SOLD Rooney to Chelsea for, say, £35 mil we would have to pay his contract for the remainder of his two years. So £35+ mil less his CONTRACTED wage over 2 years of, Say, £22 mil leave very little for a player of his undoubted quality. (You do the maths as I don't know the exact amount he is on) If however Rooney put's in a transfer request to leave then we would not be liable for his wages, bonuses or image rights. Therefore £35+ mil becomes £35+ mil. It's purely a matter of bottom line, I would think. Would YOU as a business exec rather £35+ mil to spend on future players, or many mil less? The club can afford NOT to sell Rooney if so desired. Personally I would prefer Rooney to stay and sign a new extension.

Mac

Agree0 Disagree1

You are all forgetting a major factor here guys. Why do the geeks own our club. Money!!! end of. Rooney rotting on the bench £200000 plus per week. The more angry Rooney gets the more he upsets our fans. Suddenly Rooney is not a valuable asset regarding Shirt sales, advertising and all the other commercial ventures that he is involved with for the club. Do you really think the Glazers will like that. Smell the coffee boys, Rooney will leave. As much as the management would like it to a foreign club, Rooney holds the aces here I'm afraid. He will leave in this window. He will go to Chelsea. Put your mortgage on it. The glazers are not football lovers just business men and $$$$$ conquers all as far as they are concerned.

I washed david peggs car

Agree1 Disagree0

The problem with Rooney, weather he stays or goes is his attitude. he can be a fine player but this is the second time his name has come up in lights about wanting out of Man Utd. people on here are saying he is not coming out and saying he wants out!but he is not saying he wants to stay is he?i would support Rooney 100% if he grew a pair and stayed to fight for his place, and impress his new mgr and play like the Rooney we know he can,

I really do feel Ronaldo could be coming home this summer, from his interview with Madrid on tour in America he said he was unsure on his future. This is a boost for us United fans as previously he stated he'd love to come back here. Many papers seem to agree although I never read much into them. My very reliable source (deputy old Trafford groundsman with inside views of the camp) claims we hope to make at least one marquee signing with Ronaldo top of the list after giving in on Fabregas. He genuinely feels the deal could be pulled of. Let's hope

Believable15 Unbelievable62

I personally think he's staying at Real. He's only trying to make waves because he wants more money before he extends his contract at Real. Maybe if Fergie was still around, who knows.

Agree3 Disagree0

You do realise you could have got this deputy groundsman the sack with that story! Even considering the fact that a man of such lofty position within the financial decission making executive circles of Manchester United wouldn't have a clue what's going on!

J - Stand

Agree2 Disagree1

Your very reliable source "hopes"! Christ that is encouraging. Not.
RedSince68

Agree0 Disagree0

Having an affection for the club is one thing, wanting to move back there is another.

I think he will stay with Madrid

Agree2 Disagree0

You are totally unbelievable my friend

Agree0 Disagree1

His "home" is now Madrid, the biggest club in the world. Would not hold your breath. Why would he come back to a sinking ship?!

Agree1 Disagree0

Sinking ship. oh my lord.

Hi All,

I discussed Fabregas with Musa Okwonga (journo from espn) yesterday, I asked him if he had heard anything in journo circles that could be encouraging us to bid for Cesc. He told me that Cesc is keen to move to Utd.
the public nature of the bids make more sense knowing this too. Basically we need to make an offer attractive enough for Cesc to ask for a move and offer a large enough fee to Barca

I found this very encouraging news although there may be some more posturing and negotiating to be done over the next couple of weeks.

Believable7 Unbelievable47

Is that Must A ok Wonga?

fabregas is the main target if it fails marchisio is the man for whom a bid of 22m pounds is expected. CR7 is likely to join also for 75m pounds. cheers

Believable8 Unbelievable55

Main target ronaldo for 75 million and fabregas for maybe 35 and you say he is our main target.
Have a word

Agree0 Disagree1

If we have been told we don't have a transfer budget let's just go all out and bid 40m for fabregas

Just read a swedish newspaper, according to them Kagawa was not to been seen at the airport.

Believable5 Unbelievable27

Hes been given extra time off back for charity shield

Agree1 Disagree0

Travelling squad form manutd.com
Lindegaard, Amos; Rafael, Evans, Evra, Jones, Smalling, Vidic; Anderson, Bebe, Carrick, Giggs, Nani, Zaha; Henriquez, KAGAWA, van Persie, Welbeck

Agree0 Disagree0

Did they see park-ji? because they might have been mistaken

Agree0 Disagree0

Kagawa likes to sample the goods in duty free so maybe he ducked in there?

Supposedly Fellaini has been saying he will join United this window in Manchester bars who'd be surprised at that, not I

Believable12 Unbelievable32

Don't want him anyway but especially not if he's spent his summer in bars

Agree2 Disagree0

Would he not be in bars in Liverpool?

Agree2 Disagree0

Why would he be in bard in Liverpool when he lives in Manchester?

This is coming from a source who has been
travelling with United for 3 decades now.

Rooney is not injured but he did such a
embarrassing act so he can leave United.

Rooney has refused to travel with the squad.

Believable36 Unbelievable14

You got this from Peter Bolton on Tw**ter.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you run one of the united pages on fb? Just saw this exact same post

Rooney has finally submitted his transfer request (written in crayola by all accounts)
We have also submitted our final offer of 40mill for Fab which will only be accepted if Chelsea agree Luiz sale to Barca which Chelsea will only sanction if we agree to sale of Rooney. fun and games ahead for Mr Moyes

Believable25 Unbelievable48

Indeed he will put in a transfer request now is when we need to play hardball, it appears he wants a chelsea move

We should hold out for over 40m and get a replacement before letting him go last day of transfers. Try for Mata not much chance of that though. Would even be worth a punt for Lewi in my mind and if no replacement don't let him leave

Agree1 Disagree0

So you are saying barca want to replace an attacking midfielder with a centre half and chelsea will replace a CB with a striker?

Agree0 Disagree0

I am saying we need cesc chelsea need Rooney and Barca need a centre half they are not like for like swaps merely square pegs in square holes each team get what they need not direct replacements

Agree1 Disagree0

05 Aug 2013 15:20:52
Jurgen klopp is an open admirer of kagawa and remains in contact with him, what do you guys think of swapping him for lewandowski? Davethered

Believable3 Unbelievable68

Well a swop is not going to happen Lew will not come to Utd. If it did however I think Dortmund would have the better deal. Kagawa is a very skilled player who we should do everything possible to retain.

Agree10 Disagree0

No thanks.

Ozwald

Agree3 Disagree0

Kagawa as stated he wants to stay and fight for his place in the team take note Rooney we need more players with Kagawa's
attitude. Agree skilful player who will only get better

Acker

Agree5 Disagree1

Still think Lewy is coming anyway once we've sold The Scouser

Agree0 Disagree6

Great idea so far Kakawa very lightweight. Baz Red

Agree0 Disagree4

Buy lewi then get 40m for rooney or 30m from someone outside of the Uk

Agree1 Disagree1

Stupid move in my opinion kagawa will be a utd great and has showed the club some commitment which rooney should take note of.

c19lav

Agree1 Disagree0

So you want to swap a player who wants to stay, is technically gifted, is committed & determined to succeed here with a player who wants a move to some other club desperately, is not what we need at the moment?!

Good plan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Klopp has already tried and failed to take kagawa back in this window.

Agree0 Disagree0

No way just buy lewy outright shinji will only get better an can play in Rooney position behind the main attacker!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lewy is a done deal to Bayern nxt season.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Aug 2013 14:35:52
why not. but its very unlikely. as lewandowski is keen on bayern switch.

Rooney and januzaj left out of squad tomorrow, bebe is in along with henriquez! Why haven't we got rid of bebe yet? The one player in our squad who is just completely atrocious!

Believable35 Unbelievable6

Yeah Rooney left out due to a chip on his shoulder with the club.

Dufferz

Agree4 Disagree0

In order to sell a player you need to have a buyer in place. We have several players who would be sold if there were buyers for them.

Sydney!

Agree3 Disagree0

I love bebe don't know why but I actually see potential in him haha obviously he won't make it at united but for some reason I've got a soft spot for him

Agree7 Disagree2

Loving that reply matey.

Agree0 Disagree0

We need Fabregas before Sunday.

Agree1 Disagree1

De Gea, Ferdinand, Cleverley, Linguard, Buttner & Fabio also left behind.
Raffa

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree no name, he'll be rubbish if he signs monday

Agree5 Disagree0

Bebe hasn't gone cause he is a poor player who is just not wanted.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why isn't de gea, Rafael and rio going?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd guess that those not going are probably going to be playing in Rio's testimonial on Friday

Agree1 Disagree0

Shop window?

Agree0 Disagree0

Have a soft spot for bebe. He is years behind other players in terms of development because he started late and as a semi-pro in a lesser standard league to other first teamers at United. I am unaware as to how this bit of knowledge slipped by most people when they bought him in the first place.
IMO by the time he is 27 he will be quality but in those 4 years he should be loaned to a championship club in order to see if he can play at that level regularly. Mark my words he will be good. Just not for another few years sadly
REDZER

Agree2 Disagree1

We paid 7 million we can't wait four years for poteintial!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bebe played pretty well vs AIK today I don't see what you are complaining about he got much better while on loan.

My friend met an assistant to Mendes in Mayfair on the weekend and he said that the Ronaldo deal is nearing the end of the pipeline, it's not certain but it's getting very close. Apparently its a complicated deal, but he'll be on £350K a week! I'm skeptical as like everyone else about this but my friend is a die hard red and moves in these circles - I would have to say there is a lot of truth and hope in this.

Believable17 Unbelievable48

Marca are reporting he's on the verge on agreeing an extension to 2018 at Madrid. They are usually correct when it comes to Real Madrid.

Agree3 Disagree3

Ronaldo will sign an extension and get paid around £670k week.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree6

Ah yes, that's true actually. Do you mean when Marca reported Madrid were going to bid for Cesc in 2010 and when Tevez said Yes to Madrid in 2009? Or when they recently reported Aguero will be a Madrid player next season? They're definitely usually correct when it comes to Real Madrid. Good point, well argued.

Agree4 Disagree0

Rather take Fabregas, Fellaini, Baines for 80m

Agree1 Disagree3

Sydney, I don't care how rich eal are, they can't afford to sign Bale and pay that out for Ronaldo.

Dan

Agree4 Disagree0

£670K per week that's £35m a year Syd, there's no way they would pay him that
Cheekos

Agree3 Disagree0

If what syd says is true I presume a lot of that money is from image rights and sponsors etc.

Ozwald

Agree1 Disagree0

Any player that plays for Madrid must give up 50% of their endorsements to the club.

Melwing28

Agree0 Disagree0

Spain's tax has risen to 50%, in Barcelona it's as high as £55% but that isn't relevant here. Ronaldo wants £17.4m (net), that's after tax. So before tax RM will need to pay him £35m for him to receive £17.4m. £35m equates to roughly £670k a week.

Sydney!

Agree2 Disagree0

Sydney you are just reporting the dribble written in various newspapers. There is zero evidence to any of it and I recommend we wait and see as there is a lot more to this.

For those of you who might be interested I have an old harvard business school case study on Madrid and their business model and we had their president back in 2007 on a live video conference which was interesting but they will not be paying that sort of money even for real Madrid.

Shahram

Agree1 Disagree0

Maybe 300k a week before tax.

Agree0 Disagree1

05 Aug 2013 18:11:02
Shahram, Ronaldo wants €20m net. That is no secret. I'm not basing that on any newspaper. I am basing it on what Ramon Calderon and Graham H. have said.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

If he gets 300k a week he'll end up roughly with what he's getting now no? wasn't he only paying 25% tax on his current contract? and it changes to 50 on his next one? wasn't that what this whole thing was about? the best possible deal he could get himself! Like I said yesterday Madrid will give him what he wants and he'll sign a new deal!

Flash.

Agree1 Disagree0

A bit of name dropping there Sharahm :-) Harvard business school! i'd be interested to learn a little more.

Real Madrid are killing this window now, their ridiculous valuations of what they are prepared to pay scew the whole market ( if he's worth that then he's worth this) and their arrogance winds me up 100mph. Isn't FFP meant to start this season and where's Platinni? He's be going Ape if the English clubs were doing what Real, Barca, PSG and Monaco are doing.

Jiameuk

Agree2 Disagree0

No name dropping just the truth. It basically shows how they changed their business model and how they generate the income they do. People are quick to quote figures here but in reality it is not as simple as everyone thinks. The Ronaldo stuff is not about wages and there is more to it namely imaging rights, which is the hold up and goes against their business model. Just think Tiger woods and look at his earnings as a golfer and his earnings on the sponsorship front.

If the eds allow it I will go dig in out some old folders and attach it. It is quite an interesting read.

Shahram

Agree0 Disagree0

Ronaldo Lover

He's only looking for more money. Every United fan needs to forget about this, it won't happen (at least not this summer) deal with it.

A spokesman for United told Press Association Sport: "A bid was received yesterday and immediately rejected. Our position remains that he is not for sale. "

United confirm second bid for Rooney.
If they wanted to sell would they not sit down and negotiate.
Jred

Believable34 Unbelievable2

Looks like we're finding it pretty hard to get quality additions at the moment, doesn't make sense to get rid of any of our best players IMO.

Ozwald

Agree3 Disagree0

Too early to do that yet Jred. Perhaps if we had signed Cesc then it maybe time to sit down and negotiate a sale. We cannot sell Rooney without strengthening first.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree0

Get rid of him he doesn't even have the decency to come out and tell the fans what he wants to do and take lukaku as part of the deal. yet again another good player ruined by money. hel flop just like he does for us up front he bottles every shot or it gets blocked either spruce up of get out.

Agree1 Disagree0

Not neccesarily. If they really wanted to sell then yes, if they are not planning on it but willing to consider it, then the offer just needs to go up a fair bit before they even take it seriously.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea are playing this quite well. Aren't they? Mourinho knows united are their biggest competitors. If United sell Rooney to them and don't buy a good striker. They will certainly increase the chance of winning the league. If RVP gets injured or goes off the form for about a month (like he did last season) united just won't have the firepower to win those crucial matches.

Agree3 Disagree1

It is probably because its chelsea making the offer why would anyone sell a good player to their rivals

dave

Agree0 Disagree0

Every player has his price but I can't help thinking if United where really looking to sell they would of negotiated with Chelsea who are clearly interested and had him sold by now
Jred

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't believe we are competiive at the moment. With our present squad it's between City and Chelsea

Agree4 Disagree2

If Chelsea want him that bad and we are out of options surely a cash plus mata deal must be looked at?

Cug

Agree2 Disagree1

Many reports have suggested Chelsea are willing to sanction £40m for Rooney. Bare in mind that would be total cost, not just transfer fee. So £35m will probably be an acceptable offer for MU especially if Rooney wavered his 5% by asking for a move and if we bring in our own targets. If we fail to bring in our targets then it would be foolish to sell him this summer.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney,
By the looks of it we are only focused on midfielders and not strikers. So I reckon the replacements you are talking about is a striker and not midfielder who could play in rooneys position.

Agree0 Disagree0

PR, Kagawa can take Rooney's position as a second striker or playing in the hole. We have RvP, Chica and Welbeck who I think will have a good season if Rooney is sold.

Getting Fabregas could definitely have an affect on a deal to sell Rooney.

Ozwald

Agree3 Disagree0

PR, we will not sign a striker to replace Rooney if he is sold. RvP has replaced Rooney as the leading forward, Hernandez & Welbeck are there for back-up. If we were to sign Cesc then we would have Kagawa and Cesc who could play in the hole. I think the plan is to strengthen the midfield and left-side at the expense of Rooney. I think that was the initial plan, but things will change if targets cannot be achieved.

Sydney! {Ed004's Note - I honetly think if Rooney is sold we need 2 forward signings along with the sale of Nani. I think we need two wingers or a right sided winger and someone who could play in the hole. In an ideal world we would sign Ozil/Di Maria for the right and Reus/Draxler/Sanchez for the left along with a partner for Carrick in midfield and Baines}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed004, we will need a left forward yes. We have Nani (until sold), Valencia, Zaha & Young who can play right, we do not need a right winger. We do not need someone for the hole when we would have Kagawa and Cesc in the team. You will be very disappointed if you are expecting this kind of overhaul mate.

Sydney! {Ed004's Note - I meant I'd play Cesc beside Carrick as I think he is better getting involved as much as possible and fabregas does get stuck in. Now are any of them wingers good enough for united? Young is constantly injured, Valencia is horribly out of form and its too soon to judge Zaha. Any of Mata, De Bryne, hazard, Oscar, Shurrle would start ahead of those 3. We need to replace Rooney input to the team and by selling him and Nani you'd hope to raise atleast 50 million which should cover most of money for 2 players signed. So I'm not sure 4 signings with Rooney and Nani sold isn't unrealistic}

Agree0 Disagree0

We do not need a left back nor do we need someone in the hole, we have the players for that.
We need players in the center, along with a right midfielder.
I'd also look at a replacement for Welbeck as he is not a out and out striker what so ever

Melwing28

Agree0 Disagree0

Why keep rooney its clear he doesn't want to be at the club and even if we keep him he's not going to be happy and give is all get rid £35 million

Agree0 Disagree0

Melwing28

We clearly need a lb Evra has been good over the years but in the pas 18 months has lost it. He can't track a man cause when he's defending he gets sucked in too central. When he's attacking he doesn't bother getting back. 60% of the time when he challenges for the ball hel mistime it's and loose his position and possession. a rm u say like serious what team do u support. Valencia nani young and zaha can all interchange sides. rb would be next for me after a cm as there's no cover for raf. and smalling ant great out there but he does the job. then if Rooney goes the likes of actually I'm sick of this Rooney saga I'd wish he'd rod off tbh.

According to Miguel Delaney and his MU sources, the Cesc Fabregas pursuit is far from over. MU are still in for him.

Sydney!

Believable34 Unbelievable23

We'll sign him Sydney!

It's too quiet on our front & his. I think Barcelona are Basically saying come back to us with a higher bid soon because we need the cash.

Hopefully we'll hear something this week.

Agree5 Disagree2

I'm getting tired of this. We need our signings before the start of the season, we'll play Swansea, City, Liverpool, Spurs. We need to be ready. This will be a very rough start of a season and we are still weak on the same areas. Adnan, Zaha won't solve our problems.

4 weeks to the end of the transfer market, we still have time to get them, but the time we're wasting on Cesc is getting annoying.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree, I posted something similar, all the noises coming from Barca seem to suggest we haven't met the valuation and we've failed to up the bid, which would explain the comments from them yesterday that we've given up when clearly we've made no such statement. Interesting to hear what Moyes says in his presser today, it will at least tell us where we are.

Agree1 Disagree1

I hope your right mate

A player we need in my eyes

Agree0 Disagree0

Nick, we're not wasting time on Cesc. We're in a position where we need quality over quantity! There aren't many world class midfielders available currently, Cesc is exactly what we need. Midfield trio of Carrick, Fab and Kagawa would be massive.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

I do think we'll get him. My personal opinion is that Barcelona need the cash so to purchase a defender or two.

Glad to see that Anderson came out publicly stating he needs to loose a couple more pounds, and that he is hungry to stay at Old Trafford. I do believe if he has a good run of games then he has something to offer us. I remember in his first season he played Gerrard and Fabregas off the park. His confidence must be pretty low.

Agree2 Disagree1

This Fabregas pursuit is so annyoing. Everyone and his dog knows that we won't get him anyway but we still keep on wasting time.

We have such a hard start to the season. If we don't strengthen our team until then I think we could drop s***loads of points.

I just can't see us beating Chelsea or City. They have a worse squad but their first eleven is quite a bit better than ours at the moment. So hopefully Moyes and Woody stop their dreams about Fabregas and go after some good and attainable alternatives.

Agree1 Disagree2

I really can't see us getting him.
If it was a case of Barcelona holding our for 35 million pounds and by the looks of it United want him badly then why haven't we just met Barca's asking price?
It's another Wesley Sneijder saga, this has dragged on and on and on and to be honest i'm getting sick of hearing about the whole thing now.
Just pay the bloody 35 million pounds if you want him so bad, or Fabregas please come out and tell us if you want to stay or go?
The transfer window just drives me insane, I wish it never existed.

Simmo

Agree0 Disagree0

Saegull. Lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

We should be buying other players, whilst waiting to see what happens with the Cesc deal. We need 2 midfielders desperately, we can't just keep relying on Carrick and sub standard players playing next to him. Giggs is past it, Cleverley is ordinary at best and Anderson just isn't fit or good enough. We should grab Fellaini or Lars Bender to play next to Carrick. Then if Cesc's deal collapses, as I fear, then we can go for Cabaye, Eriksen or a creative player we need. I know Fellaini isn't popular with a section of our fans, but he is so much better than other partners we have for Carrick. I think Fellaini would be a revelation for his doubters, surrounded by better players than at Everton, he'll prove to be top class. If we got Cesc or Cabaye they can interchange with Fellaini, as all 3 of these players are versatile and can play deep alongside Carrick, or play in a 3 behind RVP alongside Kagawa and Rooney or Wellbeck or one of our wingers. The season starts in less than 2 weeks, it's community shield next week, we really need 2 midfielders at the very least. Of course Baines would be a great buy too.
Mik

Simmo, who says Barca will accept £35m?

Also did we ever come out and say we made a bid for Sneijder?

I haven't got a clue what they want for him i'm just saying what everybody else is saying which is apparantly around the 35 million pound mark.
To be honest i'm sick of the whole thing.
By the way I never said we did bid for Sneijder, I compared the whole Sneijder thing to the Fabregas thing. will he won't he come?. did we didn't we bid for him?

I don't think we will get him. Nor do I believe we will get Ronaldo (as much as i'd love that)

Fact is both players do not want the moves.

Conflicting Reports here, another source have quoted Ronaldo as saying he has not signed anything and now is not the right time to talk about these things.

If you read the full article in Marca, nothing will be officially announced by the club until 17th August, which if the deal had been agreed by both sides seems a bit of a long delay. I'm not reading anything into that, just stating the facts.

Cristiano Ronaldo's future at Real Madrid is unclear after the former Manchester United player refuses to confirm reports that he has agreed a new five-year contract with the club.

Marca reports that the 28-year-old has tied down his future at the Bernabeu until 2018.

But quoted in AS, Ronaldo told a press conference: "The situation still hasn't been resolved and I don't think now is the right time to talk about it. Perhaps we'll be able to give more concrete news about this further down the line but now the only thing in my remit is to train and work. "

Marca just doing the weekly 'Ronaldo will retire here, he's signed a new 5 year deal' rounds at the moment.

They've been trying this tactic since the window opened along with Perez, and Ronaldo had to come out and state he hadn't signed.

Which he will be doing again this time.
