Utd in discussions for 3 major signings this window
Mata is a certainty now, Gundogan expected to follow and finally Moreno to solve the lb issues

ajs71

1.) If this actually happens I'll give you a lifetime supply of Iceland chicken nuggets that I no longer have the need for.

2.) Would love this to be true! Could you share with us why you believe this to be true?

Cheers

3.) I'll eat my hat if this happens

4.) Mata probable! The other two! It just won't happen. Not this window anyway!

5.) If it was a choice between mata, gundogan or vidal I think i'd have to go for vidal. And if we could get 2 of the 3 i'd go with vidal and gundogan. Would love to kno which one s others would go for and which youd think likeliest if any?

6.) Ah. but then we look at your post history and the ' ' u gave us in summer. £40m deal for fabregas agreed, Rooney going to Arsenal to name but a couple.

Why make these things up when u could be using the time on your homework?

7.) I wish! Its been another long transfer window and it would give the club a real boost adding 3 players of that much quality! The starting 11 would look at mile better

8.) Never going to happen!
I await the usual corporate excuses.

9.) Moyes wants Mata and Moreno in now and integrated to make it easier on his main summer target of Koke
His other major summer targets are Draxler and Mangala unless he can snare Zouma from under Chelseas noses. Gundogan will be the man moyes believes the team should be built around and wants the deal tied up now to avoid a repeat of last summers failings in the transfer market. Dortmund have agreed in principle with Kagawa going in the opposite direction which suits all parties

10.) Again I have to ask seen as you say this matter of factly, where does your info come from?

11.) One can only wish lol.
I would rather take Moreno than Coentrao if i'm honest, but he seems to be Madrid bound.

12.) Ajs71 very interesting.

If everything you have said there were to come to fruition then we would have the makings of a great team.

De Gea in Goal. A back 4 of Raf, Mangala, Jones and Moreno. Gundogan and Koke in the middle. Draxler, Mata and Januzaij infront of them and then RVP up top.

I think Rooney will go, and as such it will be a great shame to loss Kagawa as I think he would excel in this new lineup. Quicker, better players all around him. He would bring the best out of all of them.

If like you say Mata, Moreno and Gundogan can come in now then a push for 4th would really be on the cards.

Only 9 days to go before we know if this is true or not. time will tell.

{Ed004's Note - I don't think Gundogan and Koke would offer enough protection defensively. I think either would have to be paired with a Vidal/Witsel}

Herrera of Bilbao is the player Moyes has identified as a like for like alternative to Fabregas. €36 mill euro buyout clause and we have apparantly bid €30m sounds familiar! Just the sort of player we need to help dictate midfield more than happy with him and Fellaini

Arsenal have offered £40mill for Rooney. Utd will agree to sale once replacement signed

ajs71

1.) Would be surprised, don't see many top class replacements out there,
unless we raid Anzhi for a couple of players.
Or be real cheeky and ask if wilshire is available!!

2.) Wilshere for Rooney would be a decent trade, arsenal have a decent midfield but lack a good striker and utd have a good choice of forwards but lack flair in midfield

3.) As my old man used to say.
Shi-t from china!
No move has been agreed. We are looking at bringing players in. If we do then we will consider options, the clubs stance is unchanged.
Shandy!

4.) Why would you want wilshere anyway IF this is true which I very much doubt lol.

wilshere is another hargreaves fantastic player who could be top 3 in the world if he played 35+ games a season but wilshere like hargreaves struggles/struggled to get double figures per year

Rooney has finally submitted his transfer request (written in crayola by all accounts)
We have also submitted our final offer of 40mill for Fab which will only be accepted if Chelsea agree Luiz sale to Barca which Chelsea will only sanction if we agree to sale of Rooney. fun and games ahead for Mr Moyes

ajs71

1.) Indeed he will put in a transfer request now is when we need to play hardball, it appears he wants a chelsea move

We should hold out for over 40m and get a replacement before letting him go last day of transfers. Try for Mata not much chance of that though. Would even be worth a punt for Lewi in my mind and if no replacement don't let him leave

2.) So you are saying barca want to replace an attacking midfielder with a centre half and chelsea will replace a CB with a striker?

3.) I am saying we need cesc chelsea need Rooney and Barca need a centre half they are not like for like swaps merely square pegs in square holes each team get what they need not direct replacements

Rumours circulating from Spain that Madrid have agreed the salsale of Bale from Spurs. but not until the end of the 2013/14 season which has infuriated Bale who wants out now this means Ronnie will wind down his contract and look for a return to OT at the same time for half the current value
This suits United as they can throw a 40 million offer at Fabregas that will be accepted. other rumour coming from OT is that Rooney definitely stays at least for the coming season

ajs71

1.) Plausible I suppose, could be a similar agreement to that when Ronaldo agreed one more year before he got his wish.

2.) Load of bollox

3.) Thats ridiculous. He has already said goodbye to his teammates and did not travel with them to Monaco.

4.) I thought mourinho mentioned something about real not moving last season and that they've decided to go full throttle for him for this season. Not them exact words but you get my drift

MuffinMan

5.) Real Madrid are currently 2-0 up against Everton in USA so I don't how they are in Monaco. Btw Ronaldo scored one of the goals

6.) I think he meant Spurs, who played Monaco earlier today.

7.) Rooney wants away.
He will ask for a transfer this week
That will infuriate the fans even more.
United will not keep a player that has no commercial value to them any more. Angry fans means no shirt sales with Rooney on, plus he will upset the dressing room. As much as they do not like it the only team that is really interested are Chelsea.
Rooney will be a Chelsea player by the end of next week

8.) Why are RM so desperate to get bale?

9.) Because he is the third best player in the world

10.) Bale is not the third best player in the world. In my opinion he is a top quality player but at his current level I think there are a few better players. But Bales potential is crazy he is more than capable of becoming one of the top 2 or 3 players in the world if he keeps working hard to improve himself. Players like ronaldo are rare. The determination and work that he puts in every single day to make him self the best he could possibly be is crazy he has a drive and passion to win that not many players have.

Simply Red. Moneys too tight to mention Glazers must be loving this window. Moyes clearly has his remit to make do and mend worrying times especially as Moyes likes experience and will clearly hold back on playing Zaha Januzaj or Powell(sorry we do not rate him so he's gone!)

Medical currently taking place. our prayers have been answered!
Paul Scholes coming out of retirement to partner Giggsy in the middle. if that fails Phil Neville is ready to step in and put the frighteners on Vidal Gundogan and Schweinsteiger
Who do you think you are kidding Mr H. You win nothing with kids according to the experts so do not panic

I.knew there was a reason why I have been drinking vodka all night. our great club has disintegrated into the laughing stock of England and rightly so we had no intention of buying anyone other than the hair bear bunch and if that falls down we can draft in the dads army to combat the might of europe once more. this is not how we do business
hang your heads in shame and go now woody and buzz and bring back fergie or someone with the balls to blood the youth and identify a creative midfielder and attract signings

Over 1500 hours of the transfer window have passed with nothing but an unknown Uruguayan full back to show for it. ten more hours of ifs buts and maybes before the stable door is bolted and we are left with Ryan Giggs as the main man to lead us into premiership and european glory once more!
Good ol woody and buzz

ajs71

1.) If one now looks at the squad from a cash value point of view, one would have to value United lower than all 5 of it's major competitors. Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Carrick, and RVP are in the latter stages of their careers. Anderson, Cleverley, Wellbeck, Smalling, Nani, Valencia and Young are scarcely worth 10m ea. Rooney could technically buy himself out of his contract next year. Kagawa's value may have declined since being in Manchester. Zaha, we'll see. Perhaps only De Gea and maybe Rafael are worth in the 20m+ range.

So, we will be matching up against squads with maybe 2 to 3 times the market value. This is not sustainable. United are going to have to spend 100m a year to keep up with the money bags. If they do not then we will not be able to compete after this year. and if we don't make the Champions League next season, which is highly likely, then the loss of income and prestige could deal a major blow.

It was good while it lasted, but clearly the debt has finally broken us. It was amazing that SAF did as well as he did under the financial strictures imposed on him by the board. Unfortunately, the availability of sufficient funds to invest only in players in the 15-20m class has come home to roost.

Hearing that Bale to Utd and Hernandez the other way plus £60m has been agreed unless RM stump up Spurs asking price upfront and not in instalments. Fellaini also due to arrive in next 48 hrs if Kondogbia turns our approach down
Utd are also negotiating with Arsenal for Rooney. fee is £40m and non negotiable we will not sell to Chelsea even if they match or increase on our valuation. Moyes plans to promote Januzaj and will not be replacing Rooney unless we receive encouragement from Barca re Fab who was our number 1 transfer target this Summer

ajs71

1.) So only 2 recognised strikers in tje entire squad? (I'm not counting Macheda.)

I'd take that though!

Ben

2.) Would not be a bad summer imo, ideally another midfielder would be great, someone more creative, but hey we haven't signed any players who are going to play for us this season so far.

steviek. agreed fergie had been there 26 yrs and a I accept a new manager would not come in and have the same degree of success frpm day one but at least instill a style of play befitting our club and to go from champions to potentially finishing 7th 8th or 9th cannot be acceptable. are we saying a captain of a large industry in the job for 20 years and retires but hissuccessor comes in and within 8 months mks the company a laughing stock and they lose millions that the business would not take swift and decisive action?

aaalij. u said utd won the league because of the manager and the players are poor and within 8 months we perform shockingly and surprise surprise the manager is impervious to any blame and its the players alone at fault. amd you seem to have identified all the players who shpuld have gone years ago then why the heck did moyes not see that when he took over and even more bizarrely continue playing them?
you mention foundations at utd and everton. moyes inherited the champions and had funds to buy if he wanted
everton have distin osman howard pienaar barry all over 30 and playing week in week out and he left them with no strikers wprth speaking about so what are these foundations you refer too. accept Martinez has had just as difficult a task but performed much better, oh and he lost there supposed best player on the last day of transfer window and still performing better than Moyes. oh and we apparantly bought that player who was part of this supposed foundation

whilst I agree steviek about the quality of passing etc we have to be honest and say last years manager instilled belief and passion into our play(considering many believe the players are not good enough we still won the league) and this managers style of play is still up for debate and his body language is that of a beaten man. if the players are unable to pass etc then it says all confidence and belief has gone and Moyes seemingly cannot turn it round. all those saying he needs time to bring his own style of play and players in after following sir alex then how has Martinez managed to follow a 10yr serving manager and completely transform their style of play with the same personnel. granted Everton results wise are similar to last yr but they have not dipped whereas ours have dropped alarmingly. people overplay the transition and poor players, we have a bigger and better squad than spurs and everton but are playing like a bottom half team right now. if its not Moyes responsibility then we may as well not have a manager

Moyes completing the job? problem is he does not know what his job is. it clearly wasnt to turn us into a laughing stock in a matter of months. he can have more money but elite players will not join in the summer because he clearly will not make them better players and offer a vision of the future challenging for major honours. how can he when he has never won anything in his managerial career. we are stuck with him I agree, but I have a sneaky feeling we may slide further down before the season ends(its possible) and may even finish 8th or 9th. I agree the players are letting us down badly but Moyes gets paid a lot of money to manage our great club and if we are saying the only answer is to throw loads of money at last years champions then we should have brought in a manager with a pedigree befitting our great club. I don't think moyes will turn it round with 200 million and I doubt he is capable of getting us top 4 no matter how many t.windows he has. nice guy but a little fish in a big pond. body language worrying and that transfers onto the pitch

Fellaini was bought with minutes to spare and we overpaid to get him. that's a panic buy.If we had landed Fabregas/Herrera there is no chance Fellaini would have been signed
How daft do we look now refusing to meet Herreras buyout and ending up with half the player in Fellaini and ironically paying more than his buyout clause when it expired. great post btw mick!
