"Jase" posted earlier that Ronaldo's hattrick goal last night was one of the best he had ever seen (though he did later effectively retract that statement). Just out of interest, what are your favourite goals you have ever seen readers?
To start off, I think mine would be Mark Hughes' scissor kick for Wales v Spain (1983 I think without googling). Spectacular!

Either gazzas against scotland or frank worthington when with his back to goal on the edge of the area he flicked the ball over his own and the defenders head swivelled round and hit it on the volley amazing bit of skill

Carlos Alberto's goal in the 1970 world cup final against Italy, if you can find the footage that shows it completely from start to finish. It is a goal of absolute beauty. Gerson, tostao, Rivelino, pele, jairzinho all involved.

One of the best I have seen live like a lot of other reds would be the giggs fa cup semi replay game. But another that always comes to mind that I saw was Martin Buchan against Everton at Old Trafford in 1978. Top corner from about 35 yards in the last minute to equalize and make it one each. He only ever scored 4 goals for us nevermind score like that. On tv maradona against England 86 - not the handball

Best goal ever is Marco Van Basten against Russia in the euros;cracking volley from an impossible angle.

My favourite United goal has to be Giggs against Arsenal 1999 FA Cup semi final. Truly great and the rest his history ;)

And yes Maradona's was one of the best but I'm not putting it in "favourites" for obvious reasons.

Not going to be one of the most popular options but I thinkk matty burrows goal a few years back was absolutely sublime.

Although the van basten volley is something I have always tried to emulate.

Matt le Tissier vs wimbeldon 94 Messi vs Getafe 07 and my fave all time goal Ole Solskjear vs Bayern still get a felling today and I was lucky to watch it with my Mate who is a Scouser he was ribbing me the whole game I went mental when it went in never seen anyone look so gutted at a result lol

Apart from the obvious ones, Ronaldo against Porto was a moment of genius. Giggs against Juventus in Turin in 2003 was great too. Carrick's first against Roma in 2007 was great too. {Ed007's Note - My favourite EVER Man Utd goal was this one :)

I do still think its was very special goal, but for me a I prefer the intricate little tricks and going round players compared to the acrobatic overhead kicks, though obviously can appreciate both, taste is subjective I suppose. My favourite goal ever was Dennis Berkamps versus Newcastle in 2002 where he rounded the defender with that sublime touch and coolly slotted it in the back of the net.

Far too many to pick from but a couple of Utd ones were Cantona chip v Sunderland, Berba v Liverpool, Scholes volley v Bradford.

Other non Utd ones was Ronaldo for Barca run from half way, Raul slide tackle chip god knows who against, Van Basten volley v Russia, Zidane volley V Leverkusen and most of Maradona's including one he 'might' have touched with his hand ;)

I always liked Rooney's volley against Newcastle. I also like the goal Bradford scored against us in the league cup when they beat us 2.0. That was a volley too.
