out of all of the signings we have made since the premier league era began which one got you most excited? i'm not his biggest fan these days but when we signed rooney that beats them all for me

Eric Cantona was left field and he was clearly talented so that was a great one. Andy Cole was huge news and a real shock given the season he had just had at Newcastle.

Lol believe it or not mine was Edwin, at that point we were struggling for a few seasons and had gone through a number of keepers, having watched Edwin most of his career I knew we has finally got that position sorted.
Im easily pleased, but I still say over the last 10 years that was the best money we ever spent!

3.) 10 Jul 2014
Ronaldo. After seeing how he played vs us, being given the no.7 and coming on vs bolton. You could tell he was a special playee

Rvp massive price for a player of his age but proven quality

5.) 10 Jul 2014
Have to agree with trumours mine is ronaldo! :)

6.) 10 Jul 2014
Rooney for me - this is probably why I feel so disappointed with his decline.

7.) 10 Jul 2014
Veron for me! we were getting one of the best midfielders in the world, was gutted he didn't work out.

8.) 10 Jul 2014
Sorry, not buying the Ronaldo view. He was unknown and raw as hell when we signed him. Can't see how he got people that excited compared to some of the others we signed.

9.) 10 Jul 2014
Its between Rio and Rooney for me I think Rio at the time was a magnificent player who Leeds couldn't keep hold of and would have sold him to anyone but us given the option. Makes it a little sweeter.

Rooneys transfer is the most excited I have been about a transfer, imo he was the most exciting prospect in world football at that time, but even though he has had fantastic moments like most English prospects he never really fulfilled his potential.

10.) 10 Jul 2014
Mine at the time was veron, I used to love him at the time and believed he was best in the world, then it was either tevez or Ronaldo, can't decide which tho

11.) 10 Jul 2014
I thought getting Veron at the time was massive at that time compared any signing before interns his stature in world football at the time. Tevez too really.

12.) 10 Jul 2014
Van persie also gave me a semi blob on too

13.) 10 Jul 2014
Mine was Keane. the story and the attitude to football and his heart for MUFC is legendary.

I was shocked to learn about his wages before bayern came looking for him.

If 25% of present mufc players, played with half as much heart as keano. then its hard to think of how well we would do

14.) 10 Jul 2014
For sheer excitement and anticipation, I would agree with Veron. He was a true world class player at the time, though obviously it never worked out for him at OT. The magnitude of that transfer back then would be something similar to signing Vidal now. let's hope it happens!
I can't see how people can say they were most excited by signing Ronaldo though. He was a virtually unknown 17 year old who had a good game against us in a friendly in Portugal. He wasn't even aon the radar until that day, when he gave most of our players (Gary Neville in particular if I remember correctly) the run around.

15.) 10 Jul 2014
For me it was Van Nistelrooy. Having watched him destroy the Eredivisie for 2/3 years, I was desperate for us to sign him and was gutted when he did his knee. It's a shame he wasn't at the club during one of our golden periods as he, for me, should've won multiple titles and perhaps a CL with the club.

16.) 11 Jul 2014
Mine was Berbatov. Watching his touch at Tottenham was a thing of beauty and then my dream came true. Still shiver at the memory of him pirouetting on the touch line before setting up Ronaldo against West Ham.

17.) 11 Jul 2014
When we resigned Mark Hughes; should never have left.
It was massive at the time; a club record of £1.8m. How times have changed, Fellaini's hair probably cost us that much last summer.

18.) 11 Jul 2014
Rooney.

Good question that.

19.) 11 Jul 2014
Mine would have to be henrik larrson signing for us mid season, when we badly needed an experienced striker and a boost to win back the title from chelseas money.
