Has there ever been a more perfect football boot than the legendary Puma Kings?

Adidas World Cup? I've had these and Puma King and one called SPA King. But my favourite boots ever were a pair of Lotto.

One thing is for sure though, the world was a better place when football boots were made of black leather!

Adidas World Cup. Good shout. I had a pair of lottos at some stage. Also some Patrick's? My first (and last) boots with metal studs :-)

I've owned puma kings and adidas world cups when I used to be able to get about the pitch in my younger years. Quite like the basic nike tiempo's too. My favourite pair of boots I owned though were a pair of Mizuno's with flap over tongues with really soft leather.

Paid about £70 for them around the late 80's early 90's, they were closely followed by some Asics gels for about the same money. When the Italian league was the best around then a lot of the players were wearing Lotto, Mizuno, Asics and diadora. Remember thinking I was like Roberto Donadoni gliding round the pitch.

For football, Adidas World Cup/mundials. For Gaelic football, puma kings.

Showing my age a bit but anyone remember the black and yellow nike boots of the late 80's. Also a range of black and yellow nikes range called strike force or something like that. Also Puma Maradona's, with little pastel blue patches on them. Takes me back.

I had a pair of Joma's in the mid 90's that were the most comfortable boots I ever owned. Back in the days when wearing anything other than mostly black boots was essentially asking to be kicked all over the park, and I would happily oblige!

{Ed007's Note - I'd make young players wear black boots, have a normal haircut and no tattoos until they are 21 or have made 50 appearances for the 1st team - and the fanciest car they're allowed to be seen in is a half decent Ford Focus fitted with a tracker that the club can check 24/7.
I'd also make all young players spend a few hours a week working in a foodbank or homeless hostel, that would help separate the men from the boys and hopefully help keep their feet on the ground.}

I remember those Nike's Supasub. Black leather, yellow Nike tick and a yellow wedge in the heal and NIKE in big, solid letters around the heal. They were great but expensive. I had a slightly cheaper version with orange instead of yellow.
I'm also remember some really good New Balance with huge white fold over tongues. I bought a pair because Bryan Robson wore them.
Remember those that Gary Linear endorsed in the 80's? I think they were "Quasar", or something like that?

I love threads like this. Brings back some great memories.

That's the ones Betty. I never owned some but remember them being sported by Paul Walsh in the Anfield boot room, I had a cheaper version of nike air with a blue swoosh. I think I was asking to be kicked then. Agree with all the above about black boots. When they started coming out with white boots it served as a target for my filthy play. They would have been worn by the kid who'd do a few step overs and think he was Roberto Baggio. I owned a pair of mitre scirrocos too ed. Think they were my first boots then I upgraded to some nike Valencia (black and white). At £22 my dad grudgingly got them for me.

Stylo George Best Purple, laced up at the side. Failed to make me play as good as the legend but had a good go at drinking as much.

I often got New Balance boots just because Robson wore them. Good boots though. Kings were good boots and also liked Umbro Specialis. Brings back memories.
I can understand Ronaldo, or some flashy winger wearing coloured boots but you should expect to be kicked. They are just wrong on a centre back in Sunday league football though. Just no
