I’ve been quiet for a few days because it’s hard going on here. I realise everyone is entitled to their opinions but it’s becoming like a playground. Those that love Ole defend him continually, those that want him out slag him off at every opportunity.

Seriously, read some of the posts and ask yourself if they are adding any value, it’s just the same stuff again and again; I know how everyone feels as most of you tell me every bloody day. Sniping, cheap shots, silliness, it’s all a bit pathetic.

I’ve been reading less and less and it seems I’m not the only one. What happened to having a bit of a laugh?

Rant over.

It's hard AJH when you're so passionate about something. I don't start reading the pages thinking "I'll have a go at Ole now". I read some posts and then get annoyed at what I'm reading.

It's never personal with anyone. But until we start genuinely winning or challenging for major trophies, I won't be happy. And if I come on these pages and see posts I don't agree with, I'll air my views.

The club itself is in precarious position. It's hard to watch your two main rivals Hoover up every trophy in sight.

In theory the only way this ends is if Ole wins us the league (or gets close) or is sacked. There is no inbetween at Man Utd and there shouldn't be. Some see progress, some see stagnation, others see us slipping further into mediocrity.

It won't end until a manager gets us back to the top.

Great Post, don't get me wrong i'm one of the people your describing but honestly I just want a balanced discussing.
But I've given up any hope of having a decent bit of banter about football. I've just resorted to joking about .
Honestly I will hold my hands up, that's the way it's gone.
There is a middle ground but I don't think your allowed to stand there .
Luke shaw took pelters for years, playing well now no one wants to really talk about a positive. The negativity has made a full blown cynic of me .
It might sound rich coming from me but there is no real discussing.

A lot of us are guilty of it myself included but I think there is a good example below ( I'm sure there are many others )
But how to you judge progression?
It doesn't have to be an ole debate .
But it always does, it's always someone's fault, ole, shaw, rooney.

Like I said I'm as guilty as anyone I really have given up on having any reasonable discussion and I'm probably just adding to the flames now taking the €_/ =.

I said the same on here a few days ago as well mate. Just seems everyone wants to make the same point in a thousand different ways.

Hey AJH and all the other regulars, hope you're keeping well!

Yah I've not posted for years as I can't handle the never ending entrenched views being peddled, honestly. The Rooney debate killed me a long time ago 🤣 and it's been the same ever since but moving on from target to target.

Still pop in for a read every now and again. Glad to see a lot of the old faces are still around.

Good post AJH. Part of the problem is people becoming extreme in their views. People back Ole blindly, and that pushes others to the other side. And vice versa. It’s creating a void where there should be a middle ground.

Jred you in particular used to be a good poster on here but you’ve wound me up the past couple of days 😂 to the point where I’m now more Ole out than before because of the blind defence.

Be a shame to see you posting less Tony, same goes for GDS2 as well who hasn’t posted much recently but adds good content to the site.

But hey it’s just an Internet forum so nothing personal 😁.

I call it when I think Ole has done well, and I call it when I think he hasn't, it's OK to do both as that's the kind of Manager he has been. But discussion seems to take a back seat to point scoring sometimes.

Like it or not, it feels like Ed is going to give Ole a new contract, so I guess I can look forward to another couple of years of oh yes he is, oh no he isn't.

Blind defence?
Ok pal so my point of view is blind defence .
Did you read any of the post above 🤦‍♂️.

Wazza,

I’m still here mate, looking forward to the next few days, the season could be over by Sunday and then this place will be a lot worse than this, feels like the calm before the storm. Hopefully we win both games and get through.

The annoying thing for me is it will be another fa cup semi final with no fans, I love nothing more than a day out at Wembley and you never know when we will be back there so it is frustrating but just shows how odd the season is in general. I must admit I’ve struggled through the last year with regards to football and kind of think others have too and might be the reason for the tone of some posts in here.

When I watch the match at OT or in the pub if we are crap I can slag them off, have a few drinks, calm down, talk about other stuff and come home and move on. Being in the house watching all the games alone is quite hard and easy to dwell on every bad performance. I sometimes feel like I’m miserable when we lose but not that happy when we win, and coming on here definitely doesn’t help that, hence staying quiet a bit more recently trying to not let it get to me. It’s a weird season and with everything going on in the world it’s the first time ‘it’s only football’ has been met by me with anything but contempt.

I am not coming here thinking i will attack Ole. Far from this. I think most people don't come here thinking how to attack the coach.
Then when i come here i see the same pattern at the opening posts. I mean stats after stats showing how bad our players (or our pairing of defenders, pivot etc) are and how none manager can succeed with this average players etc. Our debates about football became debates about stats.
Its Shappy on one hand and Red Man the other. The big difference is the one is saying straight that the manager in not good enough and the other throws stats in the mix to slowly prove us that Ole is doing a magnificent job and ovechieving but he doesn't says it openly.
I don't think either that we have a fantastic squad. But we do cycles with the same stupid debates to prove a point like "we have this two they have these two and theirs are better" etc. But a good debate would be "is this what the coach wanted"? What was his priorities?
I am saying this because if the manager had prioritie a world class holding to start the attacks and play proactive football then he has an excuse. But that was not the case some months ago at the transfer window. So the squad ofcourse mirroring what the manager wanted. So instead of making stupid (i can't find the word that suits the case i am sorry) debates and finding excuses we can make better conversations and good overall debates saying straight what we feel and be fair.

AJH, I don't think it is a bad thing. When people are so passionate about something they are going to be vocal when things don't go well or vice versa.

People are just expressing their feelings openly over here even though they repeat the same things time and again, at least they get it out and probably does help them feel relaxed in the process.

Its because people waffle the same crap everyday and their posts get longer to justify the same points.

This site used to be so fun when we used to discuss team formations and players but now its just all waffles.

I think until we see a managerial change this page is going to continue to be toxic.

Singh, I think you're a bit doey eyed about our history on here. There's always been drama. If it wasn't Fergie not buying a midfielder, endless Rooney debates, green and gold campaign.

Now it's just exacerbated because we're nowhere near being the club we think we should.

GDS2 that's a good point mate I never really thought of it that way.

Personally I don't really look forward to watching us play but won't miss a game. If we lose it's usually the wife that has to put up with me for a few hours rather than having a moan with the lads.

Like you say, being sat at home, it's easy to pick up your phone and come on here to vent frustration and that's probably contributed to people becoming so polarised in their views.
