Heard something about us possibly going in for Lampard?!

Anyone after Quincy Promes? He seems a cracking player. Also, I know that this has been done to death in the last few windows, but would Sneijder be an option at last? Or perhaps he plays too high up the pitch for what we're after? It seems like the we're struggling again with signings, unless the club are just being very quiet.

Helmut

{Ed002's Note - Quincy Promes - Dortmund have been looking.}

1.) I would still have sneijder

2.) Can't see Sneijder even being looked at given that we have Kagawa, Mata and Rooney.

3.) I wonder who we actually ARE looking at then?! All I'm seeing are agents using us to get higher contracts for players, or the media deciding we're after someone to just inform us the next day that they've signed a new deal. Nothing from the club. The managers obviously busy with the Holland team. It's hard to point to players who are available and would actually come with no CL footy! Hopefully it's all already done and they'll be announced after the WC, but for some reason I can't see it. I don't think my heart could cope with another summer like last year!

Any of the Eds got any info on other possible signings? I understand we're hoping for a good few in the summer, but I do feel we need at least one more. Vidal keeps popping up, but I honestly can't believe we'd get him.

Helmut

{Ed004's Note - Nothing new}

Is there any truth in the Mata rumour? Or are the press just exciting one another

Helmut

1.) If Mourinho sells to us then it's clearly because he believes we are no threat. Chelsea are still keen on Rooney in the Summer, when he has only 12 months left on his contract and they may want some guarantee that we'll sell to them if he decides to leave.
Mata is a very good player, creates lots of chances but doesn't track back when he loses the ball. Arguably he is quite similar to Kagawa who Moyes seems reluctant to play.

2.) I think its a bit of paper fluff to be honest.

3.) Like any player being linked that gets us fans hoping I'm sure the next interview with moyes will have the same old "no we're not interested in him but we are working hard to improve the squad " line, yes January is hard but signing players in World Cup year is hardly going to be easy.

4.) 37million is to much for mata another desperate bid by a man who pays over odds get him out

5.) Bean if you think Moyes decides transfer fees your either an person or a 12 year old boy that plays too much footy manager.

6.) 37mill is to much money for mata simple 27mill to much money for fellani them sort of deals would never of gone through under ferguson so the manger dose have some input on the transfer fee

7.) If Berbatov was worth 30m in 2008 - Mata is certainly worth £37m now. Remember Liverpool paid £35m for Carrol and we paid £28m for Fellaini. I don't think there will be many who argue that Mata is worth at least £9m more than Fellaini, £7m more than Berbatov and £2m more than Carrol!

8.) So Ferguson didn't pay 30mil for Veron? And an awful lot of money on other flops? Go back to the Liverpool page you joke.

9.) One word for you bean. Bebe.
Now say bad deals for too much didn't get approved by fergie. And if your not convinced how about veron, djemba -djemba, bellion, anderson, and nani. I agree with helmut, not sure you have too much of an idea of how a club functions it ain't like fifa. We are thankfully one of the few clubs that let's our manager choose his own players but what good is it to him when you can't get his first or second choices and has to settle for third or fourth.

10.) Veron was a proven world class player before he went to United just didn't quite cut it in England. But fellani il let use be the judge moyes is a mid table manager with a very poor backroom team he's made blunder after blunder why get rid of top class coaches and replace them with mediokre coaches

11.) Moyes offered rene the asst managers job and he turned it down. Chris woods is an excellent goalkeeping coach just look at the difference between tim howard when he was at united and now at everton. He also usa goalkeeping coach and there not exactly short of keepers impressing in the premier league. So that leaves mike phelan. Not knockin the bloke but i'm sure if he was that good sombody would have snapped him up by now.
So besides having players not giving it there all and a chief exec failing him in the transfer window what mistakes is moyes making?

12.) He was offered the reserves job not the assistant manager job

13.) Moyes and lumsden training methods are pre historic according to one coach van presie himself as complained about the training why is half the team injured bit of a coincidence

14.) It would be great if you could let us kno where you get you info from? And to be honest united have had a shocker with injuries for the last 2 or 3 season so not sure you can lay that one at moyes door unless he was poping over from everton to take some of our sessions.
And personaly I can't say I kno enough about lumsden or round to pass judgment. Althogh I would say that for me as a collective they seemed to have everton over achieving year on year so can't be all that bad.

Any truth to the Garay just about done rumours? He's fast becoming the defensive version of Sneijder for us!
Anyone got any info about midfielders?

Helmut

{Ed002's Note - The club will need to act quickly as time may well have run out by as early as Wednesday next week.}

1.) Ed002

Is it a gap in valuations or us not wholly convinced on the player.

{Ed002's Note - It is time - if MU want to buy the player it is a case of committing the funds.}

2.) Ed, what funds seem to be the issue? Agent fees? Benficas valuation? or is it more technical than that?

{Ed002's Note - See above.}

3.) Do you think it could be that we're holding out for another option? Or are we skint and no ones saying anything?

Really can't see another centre half coming in now after giving Rojo the number 5 shirt. Is this it for us? Really hope not

Helmut

1.) I don't think squad numbers has too much to do with transfer targets. It would be like saying we have no number 9 so we will be bringing in a new first choice striker. Doesn't work like that.

2.) I see where Helmut is coming from, if we were to sign a big name defender it was likey they would take the 5 shirt as that is usually a CB's number, but then it could still happen.

3.) Just going tto put it out ther, but Medhi Benatia wears number 17 and Mats Hummels wears number 15.
Just because Rojo has been given the number 5 doesn't mean he's the last defender Man United will sign this window. It was the number he wore at Sporting Lisbon and it was free at Man United so he probably requested it.

If we bid £40 mil for someone of his age I'd give up on football

Helmut

1.) Hmm I quite enjoy cryptic crosswords but this is a hard one. I assume Robben let's go out on a limb and guess Joey Barton :).

2.) 19 Jun 2014 13:42:00
Grund,

Nope I think he's talking about a young player, 18 let's say, plays LB.

PIRLO!

Top four my hoop! He certainly has the potential to, but he's not anywhere near that level yet. Let's wait and see if we get him before we start worshiping the ground he walks on
