Jred - as you like posing questions, here's a couple for you. If the top 4 stays the same and none of the teams win a trophy, (obviously excluding City) who have been best to watch this season and who look the most likely to challenge City next season.

I’m not jred but here’s my view. In terms of the best football this year, the top 2have been City and Liverpool, then Spurs, follow d by Arsenal and Chelsea, we are somewhere in the following pack with Everton, Burnley, and Stoke.

As for challenging next year, the only team that look likely to challenge City are Liverpool. It all depends on signings and how well they settle but I think we are a bit “fur coat, no knickers”. We could well finish second but it hasn’t been pretty and I’m not convinced we have a title challenge in us next year, some will say Jose has done brilliantly with crap players, others (including me) will say he should have got more out of the quality he has.

Theres going to be a few changes this year. We need a new defence, i would only start with Bailly next year.

We need a 2 cms if Pogba doesn't fix up or doesn't have his heart at our club.

We need an upgrade on Lingard and possibly even go for another striker incase Lukaku gets injured.

Our team is poor and i rate Mourinho for achieving what he has this year with the squad.

I can't believe 1 day you reprimanded me for being repetitive. 😂😂😂
What was it you said AJH 'repeating yourself so often doesn't make you right' but i won't reprimand you as its your right to express your opinion as often as you like. I respect your opinion and right to defend it and express it as often as u like.

Kean
At the moment the only team that looks like challenging city is the scouse .
They have improved through out the season and got better imo. Van dyke has helped there defense and the front 3 are playing at very high level .

If Liverpool played city tomorrow I couldn't pick a favourite.
Best football is harder United played some good stuff early on but have been dire to watch since December.
9 times out of 10 spurs are a good watch and good front to back .
Scouse have been entertaining but that's largely down to there attack been some very poor defensive performance .

Good questions all ways good to get a debate going ;)

Ken, there’s repetitive, there’s respective and then there’s, well, you get what I mean. I am bored with repeating the same thing but it can’t be helped sometimes in the face of opposite opinions!

You are the king of repitition ajh and slag others off for it.

I've been critical of Jose's tactics but hats off to him today he got it spot on. I think it's the most effective I have seen Pogba, the movement of both Jesse and Tony also caused all sorts of problems.
Even at 0-0 we showed better movement, caused Everton problems and it did look it was a case of when we would score.
Great stuff from José and the team, more please.

The extra man in the middle suits pogba.

2.) 01 Jan 2018 22:13:17
Reminded me a little bit of the days of Rooney / ronaldo/ tevez/ berba / nani - no out and out centre forward as we know them in the conventional sense but a group of attack minded skilful players who were comfortable across the pitch.

Of course they were better players and were surrounded by better players but even so very fluid and dangerous, a bit like current liverpool forwards now they've ditched sturridge.

I hope we are interested in both especially since the Griezeman option was taken away. I would like to think that Belotti is also still being considered, we do not score enough goals. Whatever people think of him, Lukaku is a proven scorer in the EPL and I know some criticise his record against the 'top' club's, but last season it was our inability to beat the so called lesser clubs that cost us dear.
I've also seen some comments saying that Lukaku won't help us beat Europe's best, I don't see that as an issue at the moment. Let's get back to competing for the EPL and being the best team in England first, if we can achieve that then we will be more appealing to the very top players. Some players will want to play for us because of our history but most of the top players want to be competing to win leagues and the CL.
Since Fergie left we have struggled to compete, so first and foremost let's concentrate on seriously competing for the EPL, the rest will follow.

AJH - I don't think it's just football, society has changed sadly not for the better. At non league level (almost village football) you hear the moronic fans / managers and players using the 'F' word constantly.
You walk through town and you hear women using the 'F' word in normal conversation, not something I want to hear from ladies. I'm not making excuses for the men as it's just as bad but being of a senior age it always sounds worse from women.
Back to football, the situation with players abusing officials has a simple solution, issue yellow / red cards as appropriate and it will soon stop. Not sure why the powers that be don't issue a directive to the officials to clamp down, by not doing so they are condoning the actions. It always amazes me that just because someone pays £40 to watch a game of football they seem to think it entitles them to abuse players / opposing supporters on a level that would not be deemed acceptable in a public place and would most likely lead to their arrest. The very same fans become precious when a player reacts a la Gary Neville against Liverpool and start whinging and whining about it despite the fact they have been abusing the same player all through the game.
Whereas I think behaviour on the pitch can be controlled if the will is there to enforce the laws of the game, I'm not sure how we change society.

Ed001 - interesting read, craven cottage, one of my favourite away grounds, the stand bounces, good old fashioned football experience. From hero to zero in 10mths for Jaap, he cost me a few quid last season, it will be interesting to follow his managerial career from here on, thanks again Ed.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate. Big shame for Stam clubs have no patience.}

AJH - agree with everything you say about the postings.
The only thing I would change is the poll question, or add an additional question:
Do you think José is getting the best out of the players we have?
Bloody hell, José is a controversial subject, we can't even agree on a poll question lol.

Great read Ed - nice to see Rojo retains a bit of 'old fashion' defending in his game. The first training session would have been interesting lol.
Whilst the debate on here centres around José and how good the players are, reading about Ravel is a stark reminder of wasted talent.

Keanooh

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, very United-heavy today for some reason. Odd how that happened that all these stories come out just now isn't it? Almost like the club were trying to get attention away from something... ;-)

Ken - I wouldn't know or profess to know the legal implications of Jose's comments. I try and treat people the same way that I would like to be treated, I don't always succeed but I try my best.
I wonder how many people on here who support Jose's actions on Sat would find it acceptable if they were singled out and treated the same way by their boss at work.
Let's not forget that José has publicly criticised Shaw in the past with no apparent success.
For me it was completely unnecessary and just surrounds the club with more unwanted negative attention especially after the headlines we had just made with our European exit.
