When Suarez goes to Spain and if he bites someone there - that will three leagues he has bitten someone in.

For a hat trick of bites -

Does he get to keep the teeth?

Mike

1.) Well. they would be his teeth?

2.) 'if' he bites someone. The precedent for Suarez would suggest 'when' is more applicable.
DHK

3.) 31 May 2013 15:40:41
If he bit me he wouldn't get to keep the teeth. Lol.

4.) Come on lads, the poor guy has been treated so poorly by the English media. They have hounded him out of Liverpool, it has nothing to do with the fact they are a p1ss poor side and look like getting worse by the year.

Sydney!

5.) I heard he was going to Bayern? He fancied a leg of Lahm!

6.) Hoppy. best post of the year!

Just to cheer Klooty up -

United have refinanced a lot of debt - therefore reducing the interest payment by approx 10mil pa (stirling). From 31 mil to 21 mil.

Thats an extra 10 mil to play with a year - compared to Liverpool who loose around 40 mill a year.

Maybe just maybe - we are not in such a bad position afterall.

Mike

1.) We shouldn't be happy until we are paying £0 in interest on £0 of debt.

It is a step in the right direction though.

2.) According to andersred that shouldn't be very long at all

3.) 24 May 2013 07:03:39
Yes but maybe you're now paying it over 30 yrs and not the original 15 yrs. That's invariably how those things happen. Wouldn't trust those thieving yanks. ;-)

4.) No name, apart from we were never paying the previous debt over 15 years. The other half of the bond debt matures in 2017. By then a lot of the £360m debt will be gone and interest will be lower than £10m a season. Until it dwindles down to nothing. The only thing that is changing is the interest rates, not the length of the debt.

To put all of this into perspective, in 2008 we were paying £68.8m a season on debt interest, that's 73% of the revenue going on interest. NOW just 12% of the revenue will go towards interest. We should never have been in this position in the first place, but I am glad we are clearing it one way or another.

Sydney!

5.) Sorry, that's 73% of operating profits, not the revenue.

Sydney!

Ha - Matthew Syed (Times) has just described Mourinho as an person in his print column!

Mike

1.) Oh come on ed!

That was a direct quote from The Times of London

If it is good enough for them surely it is good enough for us here plebs. {Ed004's Note - The word was automatically replaced so I don't even know what he was called}

2.) He is a person.

Lets not forget the way he has acted at RM in recent weeks. Remember the eye gouging of Vilanova? He is a person without doubt, but he is still a good manager.

Sydney!

3.) Blimey - you bought a prudish machine then :)!

FYI; M Syed used a term that could refer to a hole in rear area.

Don't think Jose is going to be inviting him to too many press conferences.

4.) There is no prude machine! Ed02 called someone a m*********er the other day and it was plain to see ;) {Ed004's Note - We Ed's are above the law lol}

Herr Kloop in the gruniad

". He hits his head with his palm. "Shinji Kagawa is one of the best players in the world and he now plays 20 minutes at Manchester United – on the left wing! My heart breaks. Really, I have tears in my eyes. Central midfield is Shinji's best role. He's an offensive midfielder with one of the best noses for goal I ever saw. ""

I always felt that with Kagawa coming we were seeing the end of Rooney (unless he reinvented himself).

Mike

1.) I would take Rooney over Kagawa any day of the week.
He is nowhere near as effective as Rooney.
Rooney is a better player all round, scores more goals, creates more assists. The facts don't lie.

Simmo {Ed004's Note - I think we have played or most exciting football when Kagawa is on the pitch tbh}

2.) Simmo,

I could not disagree anymore with your whole post. Have you watched the two of them play this season? Kagawa has been totally wasted.

3.) Simmo let's wait and see if Kags plays as attacking midfielder next season. Sundays game only gave us a morsel of how good he is

4.) 21 May 2013 11:37:01
Simmo - Facts may not lie - but how we interpret them frequently distorts the truth.

@Ed004 - spot on as usual

5.) GDS

The facts don't lie, Rooney has had a stinker of a season, scored more goals, created more assists than Kagawa and let's not forget that Rooney has been played out of position as well.
I am not saying Kagawa is a bad player, he will be judged next season where he needs to step up and produce on a regulat basis.

Simmo

6.) I don't have the stats to hand but I would suggest Rooney has played up front a lot more than kagawa this season and has also played more games in general.

Kagawa has a touch of class that Rooney has lacked for 2 years now. Rooney obviously has other things going for him that kagawa does not have, but the truth is, facts do lie unless you are looking at two players who play the exact same games in the exact same position for the exact same team, which is never going to happen.

7.) GDS

Easy reply to your post.
People really do have short memories.

Simmo

8.) Both kagawa and wazza have been poor this season but one can Do no right one can do no wrong Last year kagawa was poor before xmas and really struggled for form but played well after that. Rooney carried the team last year and scored more than rvp has this year so maybe some people do have short memories

9.) 21 May 2013 15:29:45
Kagawa started off well enough but obviously the rest of the team weren't on the same wave length as him. Then he got injuried and came back when the team were playing well and when they had adapted another way of playing which didn't suit Kagawa. He then knuckled down worked hard and started to force his way into the team with some great performances toward the back end of the season.

Where as Rooney had his nose put out of joint with the signing of RvP and adapted to play behind the main striker, but he has struggle with form and fitness and at times hasn't shown the same kind of commitment to the cause as he has in other seasons. He then started to be pushed out of his new role behind the striker by Kagawa and even Welbeck. This was due to Rooney's lack of effort and poor form which came from it. Then instead of knuckking down like Kagawa did after his injury he decided to throw his toys out of the pram and ask for another transfer.

As Sir Alex has said a fully fit and commited Rooney will always be one of the first names on the team sheet. But this lazy can't be arsed Rooney that has come out this season is a squad player at best.

On form Rooney is for the moment at least a better player than Kagawa, but Kagawa will only get better where as Rooney appears to be on a downward slope.

10.) Rooney is a better player than Kagawa, like someone said, short memories. but I should say "has been" a better player than Kagawa. Rooney has been talent wise amongst the very best players in the world, though consistantly performance wise not as good as that talent bar a couple of seasons.
I also agree with what someone said on this post, Kagawa started off very well, got his injury and only started to perform again the end of the season. Kagawa technically is excellent at doing the simple things, finding space and threading balls through, if he goes on to be as successful as Rooney has been for us bar the last 18 months he has done very well. Next season he could be an important player for us, but let's wait and see before lauding him over Rooney just because of vitriol over Rooneys last 18 months and actions at the club please

UUmmm - Suspect Gill and SAF will be a bit busy for the next month or so.

Fergie wanted Moyes because he thought he wouldn't do well?
Christ mate what an utter load of tripe - the thing that SAF needs to put the seal in his legacy is for the club to continue to succeed in the long term, then he will be seen as the most successful and complete manager ever. Something Jose for example will never be as he is only a short term fixer

Have read the Cantona book - excellent am not a great fan of sports biogs as they always seem so self serving / badly written - but this one is as a say excellent, well worth it
