Amidst all the excitement of the stadium etc, wanted to draw attention to Victor Lindelof. Hear me out, but could be the answer to our right centre back challenges.

A player who can play CB, has played RB and defensive midfield. surely on paper he's exacerly what Amorim wants from his RCB position?

On a technical skill level, I think you're right, but that's not the problem. The problem with Lindelof is that he switches off more often than a Hereditary Peer.

It was one game that lindelof played well in. Now if this becomes 4 or 5 games, then maybe your right.

Unfortunately he is hit and miss much like Maguire. I'd love to see Yoro, De ligt and Heaven as our back 3.

Lindelof is ok in the middle. He struggles when pulled out wide. The choice is to keep him or Maguire and we already have Maguire's contract extended so I can't see Lindelof as part of any medium to long term plans. In Yoro, Heaven, De Ligt, Mazraoui and (hopefully) Martinez we have good options. I don't think it'll be a priority position for this summer.

Evans was relied upon by ETH but seems RA will not renew his deal (no comms but he doesn't use him) .
Recent news about Lindelof wanting to return to Benfica.

When playing 3 CBs at any given time we ideally have 5 fit (subs/ rotation), so to cover injuries I think we would like 6 reliable CBs in the squad:
1. de Ligt
2. Yoro
3. Mazraoui
4. Martinez
5. Maguire (for 1 season)
6. Heaven

As above - I think we can cope with losing Evans and Lindelof. It remains to be seen what happens with Shaw, but he has previously played CB in a 3. If anyone was to be signed, I'd assume a youngster targeted as long term Maguire replacement. Other positions will be prioritised I expect, as you say DonRed.

Lindelof is good on the ground but for someone quite tall he get's bullied in the air.

I'd like to see a back 3 of Yoro - De Ligt - Heaven til the end of the season in prep for next season and play Ugarte and Casemiro in front of them.

Agree supa. Very weak in the air and very very weak on the ball. He is imo the opposite of what RA wants for a rcb. Hence he only uses he when all other options are unavailable.
He is gone in the summer.
We need to replace martinez looks like we won't have the funds for Branthwaite which is extremely disappointing. He would be ideal for lcb or in the centre of 3.

I don't think Evan's has been available. We have a full team of senior players out with long injuries, it really is ridiculous.

Like with eth there are a lot of injuries.
They are worse now than y they were under eth.
We simply have imo the unfitted and least.

Sorry pressed reply too early.
We have least athletic squad in the league. They are so far short of what's required for this league in terms of pace strength and athleticism it's not funny.
No wonder there is injury after injury. Outside of martinez and amad I think most of the others are muscle or fatigue injuries. They are not well conditioned enough for the demands put on them.
No zip in their movement or play. They are just not up to it.
A proper pre season will help No end. Physically and tactically. 3 or 4 signings with hungry young players that have the right ability attitude and physical characteristics will be what they will be looking for. Won't be easy this summer so much needs doing to the squad.
We do have a lot of talented youth players so the depth in the squad will come from there imo.
When you think that there is a distinct possibility that mainoo yoro heaven and obi will all be in our 1st team squad at 18 and 19. With some very promising youngsters in every position coming strong behind them. You can add the likes of kone and the new lwb 17yo from south America to that list.
That's why I think if they can really do a big clear out this summer that some of these young guys will get a squad place regularly.
We know. Heaton Evans lindelof and ericksen and sancho are leaving. Rashford and Anthony will not be in our squad either. You'd hope casimero and shaw won't be either.
Garnacho bayidir onana and rasmus might seek moves.
So if 9 of those 13 move on.
If we sign 5 then opportunities open up for our youth prospects.
I can see the club trying to make a couple of shrewd free deals like david and angel from lille.
But I truly believe that they will cull the squad of all excess this summer or as much as possible.
A striker a rwb a goal keeper and a cm and a lcb I think will be the signings he wants most.
I also think if he could pick a player to be fit and available next season every week next season from his injured player it would be Mount.
For me fill those 5 key positions
Gk x3 snr 2 jnr
Rwb dalot quende
Lwb dorogu new SA kid loan or sell amass
Rcb maz heaven
Cb deligt yoro maguire if required
Lcb Branthwaite martinez
Cm ugarte Luiz collyer angel
Am amad mount Bruno mainoo zirkzee
Cf goykeres david obi
5 signing plus 2 free agents all 13 above out job done?.

Not sure about Branthwaite given the potential fee. Luiz may do in CM but I suspect we need someone better and that we need an AM that can provide a serious goal contribution.

Going off Everton's hilarious valuation last season, Branthwaite would cost more than either Gyokeres or Quenda, so approaching £200m for the three. Along with the £80m we still owe for players (two of whom aren't even at the club right now) that's well over quarter of a billion. I'll be a little more conservative with my aspirations. Hopefully the days of overpaying are behind us and with some of the cost-cutting measures taken this year you'd think so.

How good is Heaven though?!
Yoro will come good.
Need one more, not De Ligt. He is like Carragher, always there for the last ditch challenge. We need someone who reads the game a lot better.
If two of mazraoui, Maguire, Martinez are here for another year, fine.

I’d go as far as saying de Ligt has been one of our best players this season and should probably be captain.
Weird how we can all view things so differently.
