1.) 26 Apr 2014
His tactics

2.) 26 Apr 2014
Signing fellaini for 27 million ha.

But in all seriousness he never should have gotten rid of the coaching staff already at OT. They knew the ins and outs and were part of the reason we have been successful over the years. Moyes tactically is inept.end of the day he was a defender in his day and has always been renowned as a defence minded coach where as united have always been attack minded. Be simply struggled with the balance of change and basically came across as being like a lost boy in the woods trying different things here and there and crossing his fingers he would escape. was definitely no bear grylls that's for sure

{Ed025's Note - i imagine he never expected to be stabbed in the back by his senior players either robbo..

3.) 26 Apr 2014
Ed25 what do you mean by stabbed in the back.
If I had an inept boss i'd voice my concerns.

{Ed025's Note - its about being a team carloto, working together, pulling in the same direction. the last thing any boss needs is for his underlings plotting his downfall behind his back, you are called united, but have acted anything but, what happens if they dont like the next one, will they hound him out?, if so you will be changing managers every year!, had this happened to SAF you would have missed out on the possibly the best manager ever mate, for me its player power gone mad, but thats just my opinion..

4.) 26 Apr 2014
Not signing enough players in the summer and getting rid of a few.

{Ed025's Note - then maybe woodward should have been shown the door as well GCU?..

5.) 26 Apr 2014
1. Getting rid of the back room staff and scrapping Sir Alex's transfer targets. I can understand him wanting to stamp his own authority at the club, but he should have given it time and taken the advice of those running it for so long. Just keeping a few of the back room staff and having Strootman and Garay in the team would have made a lot of difference this season.

6.) 26 Apr 2014
Taking on the "impossible job" in the first place. He was clearly not the right man for the job, and the Club made a huge error in appointing him . I wanted him gone too, but he should never have got the job in the first place. He tried his best, but was out of his depth.
I think Ed025 makes a very fair point about the players part too.

7.) 26 Apr 2014
Ed025

Woodward and the owners going would be ideal. For the last 3 years, I have always been in the camp that this group of players are the worst quad we have had in the last 15 years.

No manager will be successful with this group and the new guy needs to rip up the old chapter and begin a new one.

There are some truly poor and un-united type pleaser in this squad, which is SAF legacy and to make things worse many are grossly overrated by some of fans.

What good is Phil Jones if every time we have a game against a proper team that you need world class performance, he has howlers and gives away school boy penalties, That tells me he is nowhere near good enough to be starting centre back for a club who had worldly ambitions.

it is easy to look good against the lesser teams and people will be singing someones praise and claim him world class after our game against Norwich today :)

When was the last time Rooney or Welbeck scored a meaningful goal against a top 4 opponent and the free kick whilst down 4-0 at city does not count and not just this season.

It is not a coincidence we get very few teams showing interest in our lot, whether seller or not it would be good to see your players being in demand.

I will probably have 5k on bets today and still don't trust our lot to make a significant bet on them, this group is a mistake waiting to happen in so many areas of the pitch.

{Ed025's Note - i have to agree GCU, this is the poorest united squad i have seen for many a year, i believe at least 4 quality players are needed to make them even competitive next season, whoever takes over will have a massive job mate, i just hope everyone pulls together and gives their all for the cause..

Ed I see what you mean but it looks like Moyes managed to rub most of the squad up the wrong way.

Under fergie players knew who was starting games in advance, under Moyes you often didn't know you were starting till that day.

The comment about the players not being good enough and needing 6 world class signings. Ok we all knew it was true but coming out and saying it especially in your first few weeks as manager was foolish.

Last season Rio, Carrick and van Persie were 3 of our best players and all were allowed by fergie and the staff to manage their own training. We got the benefits last season. Moyes ended that and look at the season those 3 have had.

Last season Rafael was in the top two rightbacks in the league. This season moyes knocks his confidence.

The whole zaha thing, now we don't know what's gone on there and if he's been slack in training then that's a disgrace but its moyes job to get him focused, fergie would have. If the whole thing with Lauren moyes went on and moyes penslised zaha over then that's a disgrace as well. As manager he should be over such pettiness and any situation should have been sorted quickly.

The fact remains moyes managed to upset most of the first team squad, a team that was champions last season. He had to go. I agree certain of the misbehaving players need to go as well but moyes was making the club disunited.

His treatment of Rooney as well also did not go down well with several players either.

{Ed025's Note - some very fair points there MrE, he tried to be his own boss and it never worked, it was ok at everton because he never had multi-championship winning ego,s to deal with, he made lots of mistakes mate, but to be fair he should have got more help from people at the club who should know better, and not just the players!..

9.) 26 Apr 2014
Signing a 6 year deal. He should have insisted on 1 or 2 year deal, which would ensure that the transition doesn't mean we fail for several years. Moyes was lead to believe he had longer than he did to change things, and if the deal was a rolling one year contract until he provided his worthiness, both the team and Moyes would be in a far better position.

He cut his own throat by signing a 6 year deal. Both the club and Moyes were naïve with this.

10.) 26 Apr 2014
Carloto

I have no idea what you do but no one has to like their manager as long as you respect them. You can always leave if you don't like/respect your manager but what you can't do is undermine him.

ED025 is spot on. hese players or any group should never be allowed to backstab any manager as it is not their job. Their job is they get paid a lot of money to play football and keep themselves out of trouble because they sure as hell are not very bright.

The greatest manager ever ran the club by that rule and never allowed any single or group to even remotely step out of line.

11.) 26 Apr 2014
Poor Communication, from the start he didn't listen to understand the size of the role or listen to advice. His errors in communication meant he didn't come over well to the players, the staff and to the fans. When he did communicate it was riddled with nonsense. Leaders need to communicate and inspire and that didn't happen from the start.

12.) 26 Apr 2014
Ed025, can you imagine Ferdinand being told to do the horseshoe? He can barely sit down on a plane without getting a bad back :)

{Ed025's Note - maybe jagielka could help him syd.. :)

13.) 26 Apr 2014
Totally agree GCU Ferguson never let anyone get bigger than the club just look at Ronaldo and Beckham even Pogba he got rid of them because they thaught they were more important than the club

14.) 26 Apr 2014
His biggest mistake was his tactical indecisiveness. He came to the club without a clear idea how he wanted the team to play and, unsurprisingly, he fumbled and faffed around with variations of a 4-4-2. It's telling that even by the end of his tenure he was still unsure what his best eleven was or how he wanted them to play. The only clear tactical decision he made was to allow Rooney to do what he wanted on the pitch.

15.) 26 Apr 2014
Shahram, but that's the point, SAF was a great manager. Moyes isn't and they would have first hand evidence of this. The man tried turning us into his Everton, even Martinez loosened the defensive chains and Everton are better for it. If you listen to Giggs' interview he says we will start playing the United way again. That says it all really. Today could be 4.3, but atleast there will be goals or even shots on target for a change ;)

{Ed025's Note - lets hope so mate..

16.) 26 Apr 2014
Moyes come in and it was his way or the highway. There was meant to be continuity, but Moyes changed everything and caused upheaval. Too much change, too quickly. He was too defensive and tried turning us into his Everton instead of embracing the way MU play and keeping it going. Why change something that isn't broken? If he wanted to change it like you would expect from any manager, then he should have done it slowly. I think if Moyes has his own way, Fellaini would have been the second striker and he would have sold Van Persie and brought in a better version of Anichebe. Probably Benteke.

{Ed025's Note - changing the backroom staff so soon was his biggest gaffe syd, and then bringing in round!..schoolboy error mate..

17.) 26 Apr 2014
GCU I'm a production manager and have 80 staff working for me. I'd guess a fair proportion don't like me but from a work point of view they all respect me, because unlike Moyes they know I know what I'm doing.

18.) 26 Apr 2014
Sydney

You are talking complete nonsense.

Everton have Lukaku and Barry and Delafou and Mirralles who moyes brought in. It is very different team in terms of personal and can play differently.

Just like how everyone everyday is playing football manager and going on about if we brought in ex number of new players we will play a different way. I don't see anyone saying this lot are going to win us anything.

Stop defending them and making it a lll about DM, the players have been atrocious and so many pundits keep saying some are not putting any effort in which I suspect was because they knew they were goners.

Our players are not that good and many are very average, you just seem not to see it just like some of your famous predictions. Today will not be 4.3 and don't bet on it if you don't like parting with your money:)

2-1 is decent bet.

19.) 26 Apr 2014
Good posts from Trident and MrE! Agree with a lot of that.

Do we actually know who these certain misbehaving players were? Really would be interesting to know.

20.) 26 Apr 2014
His biggest mistake was giving everyone a chance to prove themselves and not replacing Rio, Evra with top defenders, not being able to get a pacy winger and most importantly a top CM.

Say what you want about him, I think the team is the major problem at United, and it needed immediate surgery.

He was doomed to fail with that squad from the start imo. Too many past winners who are used to winning but simply not what they used to be on the pitch anymore, and the remaining half of the squad was inexperienced like Jones, Smalling, Rafael or simply squad players.

Not being decisive in the market last summer is what has ultimately cost us.

Wayne Rooney, make of that what you will

22.) 26 Apr 2014
Has to be the complete upheaval of the backroom staff for me. never thought anything of steve round, I know he offered rene a position but was knocked back. I think that's as much because rene didn't like the direction he was going.
