So it looks like RVP wants a pay out on the last year of his contract of around £12 million before he agrees to leave. Why not keep him and pay him to actually do something?

I hope we have someone big lined up.

Ed002 said Benzema was of interest way back in March/Feb. I have a sneaky feeling he'll be the big striker coming in and Ramos won't be joining.

My problem with all this talk of a new top striker coming in is where do we play Rooney, cz for me he'd be rotated with e.g benzema and neither will be happy with a half role. I get that if RVP and Chica leave we are short on numbers but it's getting the right ones in who are happy at a squad role. So this is why I think Kane would be a good signing as he wouldn't mind growing into it at OT where as an already established striker will wanna be top dog from the off. I hope LVG should see Rooney isn't a MF by now so unless we accomadate a second striker in a different formation we could see Wayne as the advanced midfielder.

I think he could still have a part to play next season and would personally keep him. Even if he stayed injury free for a third of the season i think he'll bag is some vital goals.

It all depends on the formation. I have a hopeful feeling we'll play 4-3-3 with a narrow midfield 3 (deep Carrick with Schneiderlin and Herrera in front), but 4-2-3-1 opens up a spot for Rooney AND a new striker as does 3-5-2 if he tries that again
