People don't like it but they are statistically our best midfield duo. As a team we often play better and get better results when they play.

It’s true Shappy. Thought we’d not rely on them as much with the addition of a better CB in Varane. Clearly not. Midfield has to be our only priority in the next window.

That’s a complete cop out Shappy. They’re statistically the best duo because they have played far more games together than any other duo.

McFred is a symptom of Ole’s complete lack of courage. Playing two holding mids and shoehorning Pogba on the left because his first priority is not to lose. Paid close to £80m for Sancho to sit on the bench and watch Fred.

McFred is not the answer, neither would get in city, liverpool or chelsea team, plus many more lower teams. Another drab game with little philosophy waiting on individual brilliance. It’s a shame the board don’t share tge same ambition as the fans as long as top 4 is achieved we will have to put up with this for years to comex.

It’s not the. E fact it is 2 holding CMs, I not think either of them plays the classic Carrick role. The issue is they are not good enough. Imagine Rice and Phillips there as they are for England, we’d be immense.

AJH I agree fred isn't good enough but mctominay very much so has a role to play for us. He bursts forward well and carries the ball well, has goals in him. I agree he's not in the same ilk or mould as carrick, but for me he's not just a squad player. He's a very very good back up.
