Cesc Fabregas has reiterated his desire to stay at Barcelona on TVE show Esport Club and denied that he has ever said that he could leave following interest from Manchester United.

That's one of our transfers put to bed

Mckay91

1.) Liam brady said on irish radio today that this story isn't over yet
dont no if he knows anything but I thought its worth sharing

Former Real president Calderon admits Cristiano Ronaldo in talks over Man United return

Do dreams really come true!

Mckay91

1.) No they don't mate. get your heads out of the clouds and let's get realistic here! every transfer window the dreamers start over and over again. Get A Roooom And Dream On.

2.) Ronaldo will be coming home 100 per cent on 8 th aug that s come from Denis Irwin my brother in law
Jay

3.) Your brother in law? Yeah I'm his brother in law too! or maybe I just read his column in the sunday world in which he said Ronaldo COULD return because he doesn't think real can afford to have both Bale and Ronaldo! So basically he's speculating just like everyone else! He also said that Fabregas is our main target and Moyes will move heaven and earth to try and get him!

Can I just add its fascinating the amount of people on here who actually think Ronaldo will be playing for us next season! Not a chance in my opinion! People need a reality check he averages a goal a game! he is, for me the best player on the planet! how much you think someone like that would go for considering what real bid for Bale? I would love him as much as anyone but Madrid will give him what he wants and he'll sign a new deal! I hope I'm wrong but I think a lot of you are setting yourselves up for some major disappointment! sorry about the long reply!

Flash.

4.) Flash

There's nothing wrong with people hoping, thinking, praying ronaldo comes home?

2 years ago I would never of said rvp would be a united player and look? That's the great thing with football these days even the unpredictable can happen. Ronaldo himself has said his happy at Madrid but he also said that about united, his also stated that part of him misses the premier league. You seem to forget he has 2 years remaining on his contract that's why 60-65 million is the sum getting mentioned if he stays another season and still doses t sign his value drops further, anything can happen in football and there's nothing wrong with dreaming fella

5.) Mckay91 I agree, couldn't have said it better!

6.) Flash mate, well in that case don't you find it a bit strange that Real Madrid are willing to spend SO much money on Bale when everyone know's he's worth £50-60m at most? Seems like they're really desperate to get him NOW, but why so if Ronaldo is 100% staying?

It would make much more sense for RM to try for him next season when firstly they've seen if he can keep up his level of play for another year and secondly his contract will have gone down by a year and Levy will be more inclined to sell! Answer me why they're trying so hard to sign him this window?

Ozwald

7.) I agree with Ozwald but when have Madrid ever had any sense when it comes to purchasing they always seem like kids in a sweet shop that want everything.

Stew4d

8.) If Real buy Bale then they will need to sell Ronny to free up funds. Until they sign Bale, however, they will not enter into talks to sell Ronny to us.

9.) I know there's nothing wrong with hoping! we all hope we sign new players, the best players! and Mckay if he stayed another year without signing a new contract I'd start to believe it myself! Ozwald I don't know why they would pay so much I personally think its ridiculous but maybe it has something to do with Barcelona winning the league by 15 points and then they go and sign Neymar! So do you think if Ronaldo doesn't sign a new contract by the end of August they'll be looking to sell? How much you reckon they'd deal for before the window closes? It's not going to be 50 or 60 million! and if they wanted they could sell modric and Di Maria for that price! Just my opinion!

Flash.

10.) Real have a history of buying up galacticos - Zidane, Beckham etc, how is everyone an expert on their finances and what they need to do to make ends meet? I don't remember Figo or Zidane having to be sacrificed ten years ago because they could only afford to have one superstar in the team. They went and signed Beckham afterwards.
Bohzman

11.) Wont happean.

Afternoon lads
Update on the ronaldo situation, with Gareth bale seemingly heading towards Madrid then a sensational return for ronaldo to united has been spoke about

No official bid has been made, and no talks had been held, but strong Interest does remain from Manchester United.

Hope this helps anyone

Mckay91

1.) Real selling Ronaldo doesn't make much sense, when you consider that they're probably trying to buy Bale to one-up Barcelona's acqusition of Neymar.

Because Barcelona didn't then go and sell Messi.

2.) That is possibly the worst update ever! Anyone who has read the papers or social media would know that and more.

Ben

3.) Why don't you tell us something we don't know/already read today in the national papers pal, I might get up at 6. 30 tomorrow morning, rush round the shop and buy the paper and then write on here the first bit of information I see about Manchester United, and say its me giving everyone an update

come on lad.

Lee Rannard the Myth

4.) Ex president of Real says United have held talks, who knows for sure what's going on

5.) We know

6.) Doesn't tell us anything?

7.) I have a strong interest in a Ferrari every time I see one. doesn't mean I'm going to buy one though! I think we're all falling into the trap of believing in something because we want it so much. Sorry to drop a dollop of realism here but I can't really see it happening. Ronaldo I mean, not the Ferrari!

J - Stand

8.) Blimey i'll sleep better after that insight. are you sure its not just a crystal ball your rubbing.

Big rumour

United and Real Madrid have spent the past 12 days negotiating an £80m package - and the Premier League champions are increasingly confident of getting their man.

David Moyes made his move two weeks ago when the club heard through the grapevine Madrid had stepped up their interest in signing Gareth Bale.

And for the first time they found their Spanish rivals prepared to negotiate after the player told them he would be interested in returning to England.

New United chief executive Ed Woodward made contact with Real president Florentino Perez in the knowledge Ronaldo had yet to agree and extension to his current deal at the Bernabau which has just two years left to run. Perez then sought assurances Ronaldo would commit to the new deal and was stunned to learn he was keen on returning to Manchester instead.

That forced them to open up to United's advances, knowing they would only get a fraction of the fee for one of the world's best players if he stayed another season.

It also explains why they are prepared to break the world record to ensure they clinch the signing of Tottenham star Bale in an effort to appease fans worried by Ronaldo's departure. United have been happy to talk openly about their interest in Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, with speculation surrounding that transfer meaning work on the Ronaldo move could be done without fuss in the background.

In a highly complicated package, some of the money in terms of wages will be offset by American car giants General Motors making the Portugal star their global ambassador.

Chevrolet, owned by GM, become United's principal club sponsors at the end of the season and see Ronaldo as the ideal man to boost their image globally, and in North and South America during World Cup year. Kit manufacturers Nike have also been kept informed, as Ronaldo is one of their main sporting ambassadors.

Mckay91

1.) Have to say I usually read some 'rumors' & laugh. This seems plausible though. Fingers crossed.

2.) It has legs this.

RM could easily have waited till next year to go for Bale, see if he keeps up his level of performance while under more scrutiny.

They are scared to death of Ronaldo leaving them in the lurch though and them not having any 'global superstars' on their books with Barca having Messi and now Neymar (ridiculous when you think the other players they do have - though there are none really at this really highest level).

Bale in, CR out.

DanW

3.) What will happen with Rooney?

4.) I also see Gardiola was asked if Bayern were interested in going for Ronaldo and Pep said pointless there is only one club he would go to

5.) Pardoe, did Pep actually say that? When? Very promising if so.

Ozwald

Afternoon lads.

I've heard a few rumours from a few sites and close sources that are in the football business

Now I've said fr a while I don't believe fabregas will come to manchester united But I've heard this more than once now that as the days go by fabregas is becoming more open to the idea of playing for Manchester United, now not to get to excited as I believe if he was given reassurance or promised more regular playing time at barca then he would only want to stay at barca, but the prospect of playing for united isint looked as a step back but more looked at a different challenge, one that he is starting to admire

I've heard numerous times that we now have some financial power and I believe fabregas is exactly what united haven't had in a very long time, his the type of player we need, so why not go and bid 40 million for this guy?

I for one have every finger crossed that this guy comes to old Trafford

Mckay91

1.) Why would you pay £40M for fab when you could pay £20 for cabeye? Would be perfect to link up with RVP! And in my opinion a much better choice!

Also please let us sell Rooney! If he doesn't want to be there he won't perform! An even if he does he will be asking for 400k a week next year! Hernandez should be starting games alongside rvp!

2.) Because a 5 year deal at 200k per week = 50milllion +40million signing on fee = 90million pound commitment. I like Cesc but that's too much. I think we should drop it rather then look desperate
Mik

3.) Though I'm loathe to believe anything I read in the media ESPN are reporting United are persevering because Fabregas would be happy to make the move provided Barcelona accept a bid.

Red Spark

4.) I think now Adays lads you just need to pay over the odds for just about anybody

Fabregas is world class and that's something united look for we are not desperate you don't see us bidding for just about anybody. 40 million for a world class midfielder is just about right these days we sold ronaldo for 80 why? Because he was the best rvp would off cost more had he had more years on his contract, fabregas, cabaye and Baines for a total off 80 million? Good business to me

Rooney is without a doubt world class on his day, I want moyes to convince the lad this is the place for him

5.) Yea what I'm saying is that I'm against getting fab! Get cabeye instead! And let Rooney go! If we get cabeye it will be a £20m singing fee and about 100k a week! He's a better choise financially and football wise!

6.) Regarding Rooney - this is a World Cup year - if Rooney isn't sold and doesn't perform he runs the risk of missing out on the World Cup.
Norman

7.) No name,
"Cabaye is a better choice Football wise". No
way. Fabregas is far better.

8.) Cabaye are you right in the head? Bety average player and nowhere near United standard.

Simmo

9.) Cabaye is class! If you had rvp on the end of some off the balls he was putting through last year we would be keeping our title! It only cus he had the likes of cisse and ameobi on the end of them!

10.) Fabregas far better than Cabaye.

11.) No name you say imaging rvp on the end of a cabaye pass

Can you imaging rvp on the end of a fabregas pass?

And your saying about football reasons and financial reasons to why we should pick cabaye over fabregas? Fabregas is a much greater player that's why it's a totally different price range its like picking Walcott over ronaldo because theo is cheaper?

12.) Cabaye is a better investment! Fab maybee a better player now but if you let Cabaye play around world class players who monies what he will become! He already has the ability to be up there!

13.) Cabaye is better than people give him credit for but Fabregas is still better than Cabaye. £35-40m is well worth it. That's a higher wage than I'd like but it's still a vital deal, Fabregas is probably the best playmaker in the world outside of Barcelona and he will rediscover his old form in a deeper lying role with us if he comes. I'll have my fingers, toes, Eyelids and everything else crossed for this deal.

Dan

14.) Fab isn't worth 40m he doesn't play that often enough! He's not one of the best in the world nowhere near the likes of xavi or inesta or modric

15.) "Worth" of a player is determined by the teams necessity and improvement he brings to the team along with teams ambition.

16.) Not sure how you can say Fabregas is not financially viable. He would sell a lot more shirts and merchandise than Cabaye regardless if he is slightly older.

In all probability in the next World Cup he will probably be a starting midfielder for Spain then as Xavi will be 34 by then and playing at altitude may not be up to it, so his profile and marketability will increase further.

Reports are saying Rooney will not hand in a transfer request, finally looks like Wayne will be staying, now I probably get a lot of hate and disagreement but this is possibly the best bit of news well have this summer, absaloute legend for man united and we wouldn't look right without him in our team. He keeps the team ticking and we don't have any sort of replacement.

I just hope he decides to sign a contract extension and continues doing what his doing and breaks the goal scoring record

Mckay91

1.) Hook line and sinker

2.) I have long been an advocate of keeping Rooney and certainly not selling him to Chelsea.

I think barring everything else that has been spoken about here at length that Rooney needed a spark to kick him on to fire him up again. He may have felt Mourinho and a new challenge there would have given him the new challenge he needed when actually, maybe, he could find that challenge with us. It is nothing to do with how much we pay, it is a matter of fact that pay is a hygiene factor, look it up. Yes we all want more but it isn't high in motivational terms. There are mental challenges and maybe he has found s new one that doesn't involve Chelsea. I hope so.

3.) Yes Red Man! I love the fact you have brought some real management theories in to this, I agree with your analysis on rooney and Herzberg's motivation-hygiene theory, Rooney isn't after hygiene boosts like a wage increase he wants more self growth with his football, he just wants to play, he saw how he can do that with united last night, he isn't going anywhere!

Thanks.

Mckay91

1.) 24 Aug 2013 13:35:50
He's gone to the Audi factory to order his new company car.
Raffa

2.) Probably another sponsorship or something.

3.) Chevrolets now mate.

Afternoon lads just need a bit of advise for thensun dream team.

Jaaskalinan
Jones vidic Williams Taylor
Walcott mata zaha
Suarez rvp lukaku

Just need opinions lads would be much appreciated

Mckay91

1.) Suarez is banned for the first few games so take him out

2.) Suarez is banned for the first six games and in limbo club wise. You loon ;-)

Ben

3.) Totally forgot about that ban cheers mate

Advise on a striker then?
Suarez is 7.5 million

Augero and Rooney are 7 million
Negrado is 6
Jovetic sturridge 5
Soldado michu 4.5
Hernandez giroud 4
Bony 3.5
Remy 3
Obviously then I can use the extra money to improve somewhere else

4.) Just read Suarez has now Said he wants to stop at pool due to the love the fans have shown him .
Jred

5.) I think when he said, 'due to the love the fans have shown me' that what he actually mean was, 'due to the "love" that John W Henry has shown me'

6.) Michu is the best value for me in that list.

Might allow you to change Zaha and Jones for players who are likely to play more often too.

Ben

7.) Id stick bony in there I reckon he's going to do well for swansea

Once again turning into a very frustrating and disapointing summer for united fans

Cesc has stated he is happy at Barcelona and knew he wouldn't leave, his happy there.

The same will happen with ronaldo he wi sign a contract and it will be the same thing, happy at Madrid and was never looking to leave.

With city investing heavily, Chelsea investing the title challenge will be even harder next season, I for one am frustrated with the lack off activity in the window

If united have te financial power as moyes has put it why don't united make these world bids for players i. e bale ronaldo? I know its easier said than done but we are a global team and world class team but were just lacking the world class players
