Seems there is a lot of division here regarding our transfer business with the blame being given to either DM, Woodward, Rooney etc. etc. Like many on here, I have no inside knowledge. There are some places I get info from but i'm not sure how reliable it is so I don't really post it (i would say 60-70% accurate at the moment)

This is my personal opinion of the summer so far. I would say that all events have been overshadowed by the Wayne Rooney situation, I believe most of our dealings would have been based on one factor, will he stay or will he go. I think that DM wanted to be 100% sure he would have Rooney in the team before deciding 100% which targets to go for. everyone here seems to think we need Mesut Oezil, but do we really need him if we have both Kags and Rooney in the team?

Going back to the start of this post, I am not blaming Wayne Rooney for our transfer activity, I just think the club had a contingency for transfers with or without Rooney but the club needed to be 100% sure. following the reception for Rooney at OT on monday, my guess is he is now happy to stay and the club is now confident on which direction to go

Sorry for the long post, just wanted to get these thoughts out there

Finally something positive. I'm joint second in the dreamteam FC mini league ha ha. there's a turn up for the books. won't last though i'm sure lol

Good luck to everyone on here who entered

NTRed

1.) You can't be joint second because I am.
Colin AKA Lord of The League!

2.) Nice to know who I'm level on points with. Good luck mate.

3.) Thanks son of sir matt, and to you too. Still a long way to go yet

Colin, I was joint second when I checked a couple of hours ago, sure we're on about the same league

4.) The Barclays roumours league I thought?
Football Rumours Super League 2013/14
I have 94 points

5.) Please please please don't tell me I joined a scouse league - or worse- it is bad enough putting Aguero in and kind of being "happy" when he scores. I can't put a Liverpool Player in due to the mixed emotions so I am already handicapped!

6.) I'm on about the football rumours super league Colin, didn't know about the other one lol

As for suarez. Shame on you ;) ha ha

7.) What is the code for the super league please? And can I join?

And it was Aguero not Suarez - I do have some dignity!

Just to get off the transfer topic for a bit (especially as all the articles that could be done have been) can someone enlighten me as to what SAF's official role is now with the club. What is it he will actually do when he has fully recovered from his hip op. Will it be more of a titular role as a director or something more hands on

Would appreciate any info from the regulars/Ed's

Ta

NTRed

1.) Seen article in the paper this week regarding SAF it stated he has been given an office at his sons business premises think he is a players agent not sure though

2.) I'm definately old enough to know better but had to smile when you have put"titular role or more hands on". I'm looking forward to my retirement now I know I have getting more hands on with titulars to look forward too.

3.) Ha ha, I did write that with tongue firmly planted in cheek (nowhere else before you ask)

Still a genuine question though

So Rooney is going to miss the next friendly due to a shoulder injury that is supposedly not too serious. The timing of this is a bit suspect is it not?

NTRed

1.) Those who are tasked to come up with excuses, seem to have run out of ideas. Why can't they just come out and say that the player doesn't want to play tomorrow, because we (man utd) won't let him join his mates, Fat Frank and Let-me-av-a-go-at-your-misses Terry, at Chelsea.

I wonder if Moyes is thinking about Everton lol.

SLred

2.) If he's said he wants a transfer hopefully one of the other squad members pulled said shoulder out of said socket!

Had enuf now_ Bale go to Madrid, Rooney go wherever, Suarez get therapy and cesc and Ronnie go to the bank with your contracts and season please start!

Ed007 - that is the most sensible thing I think i've ever seen on here.

I've no idea who was abusing Ed002 but if it really was that bad then they have all my support for doing what they did, along with all the other Ed's

Perhaps, as others suggest, making login's a requirement will help a little with a 3-strikes rule for those that get out of line

All of the regulars here, and some of us (Myself included) that are more casual users do appreciate the hard work you all put in.

Now, as you said. back to the football people! {Ed007's Note - Thanks.}

Or their web shop was hacked, wouldn't be the first time a teams site has been hacked during a transfer window

Best post in along while Shappy. Pretty much the same thoughts I had regarding the players we need but I still think a good winger should be on that list too. I'm not 100% convinced Tony V can replicate his form from 2011/2012 and Nani has a lot to prove consistency wise next season. I don't think we should put too much pressure on either Zaha or Januzaj to step up too quickly. Perhaps keep Nani and Zaha for the right wing position and use Tony to cover injuries unless he rediscovers some of the form he was missing last year.
That still leaves the left pretty barren. I don't think Kagawa should be used on the left, and I don't think Welbeck is the answer either. This is one position that needs filling in my opinion
