Team got leaked yesterday its exactly the same. Coincidence?
1.) 15 Dec 2024 15:58:40
Exactly the same as what?
2.) 15 Dec 2024 17:21:55
Team is the same as what leaked.
Seems apparent there’s disgruntled players.
Rashford and Garnacho left out. Coincidentally.
3.) 16 Dec 2024 09:27:09
I've seen a huge amount of (probably unreliable) evidence that puts Garnacho behind all of the leaks.
A simple X (Twitter) search would show you the screenshots.
4.) 16 Dec 2024 17:41:18
Think we should say that Garnacho's brother has denied he is behind the leaks.
08 Dec 2024 09:21:43
Dan Ashworth have been sacked.
1.) 08 Dec 2024 10:58:27
Ridiculous.
2.) 08 Dec 2024 11:11:28
I believe it was mutually agreed. Reports of a personality clash with Berrada.
Looks like the Ineos era is imploding already, just like nearly every other sporting venture SJR touches.
3.) 08 Dec 2024 11:20:48
It’s seems to stem from a number of disagreements, these ones seem clear:
- Keeping EtH;
- Preference for an English manager over Amorim;
Guess work:
- Amorim feedback on quality of squad;
- Transfer strategy (only Maz seems good business so far) . But unsure how involved he is.
- Ambition for January window;
- Availability of a better candidate;
- Performance in role vs OKRs;
- Personality clash;
- Berrada sidelined him in appointment of RA;
The key thing right now is to get the right people in the right positions. If DA isn’t right, I think being decisive now saves us long term and appreciate the ruthlessness.
4.) 08 Dec 2024 11:46:45
The issue is that normally a CEO is pretty central to hiring a sporting director. As it's someone they will have to work closely with.
On paper Ashworth looked a great candidate. But reality doesn't always work out like that.
Barrada wouldn't have had much if any input into the hiring of Ashworth.
It's clear with how somethings have gone this season that they weren't all singing from the same hymn sheet. We had two international breaks were the club supposedly had talks about whether EtH was the right man and should stay.
Those talks wouldn't have happened in the first place if everyone thought he was, and they wouldn't have happened multiple times if everyone agreed first time around.
Ultimately if all the key people are pulling in the same direction then there has to be a change, and it better that happens sooner rather than later.
Hopefully they can quickly sort things out and make sure we are moving forward in the right direction. I wouldn't be surprised to see Wilcox take the role, at least temporarily until the right candidate is found.
5.) 08 Dec 2024 13:15:56
This will clearly stem from appointing Amorim over his preferred option of Southgate or Potter.
6.) 08 Dec 2024 13:33:10
Oh and the late Ed02 did say Ashworth was the wrong appointment….
7.) 08 Dec 2024 13:45:49
I think that what happened was that Ashworth was reluctant to hire Ruben in the summer because he isn’t a fan of his system, and the director of football wants to be in charge of the overarching footballing approach. So, they kept ETH on at the end of last season and signed players that fit Ashworth’s criteria for how he would like the squad to be shaped.
When it became obvious that ETH would have to go, Berrada pushed for Ruben. Ashworth likely pushed for another candidate *cough - Southgate - cough*. Berrada overruled him, and that undermined Ashworth’s position.
I think it spells out the importance of having a unified vision from the top down. The CEO and sporting director need to be on the same page. Otherwise you end up with fundamental disagreements on the direction of the club, and power struggles.
I go back to the sorely missed Ed002 saying that Mitchell was the right man for the club. It seems like he’s a bit at odds with Howe, who worked well with Ashworth. Think we made the wrong call on this one. A costly lesson learned.
8.) 08 Dec 2024 14:14:36
Rumour going around that dan ashworth called out sir Jim about his comments in the latest uws. Only one winner there. Club is a mess.
9.) 08 Dec 2024 22:56:57
No issue for me? DA obviously was the wrong man? He is gone.
They have Wilcox and Berrada in place? They have their manager now in Amorin. Not even sure they need to bring in a replacement just streamline the whole process possibly.
We expect players to be moved on if they aren't a fit, it's no different for execs. You won't get every appointment right just as you won't every player, when you get it wrong move on.
10.) 09 Dec 2024 10:16:03
Ratcliffe is just as clueless as the Glazers. Get ready for another few decades of mediocrity.
11.) 09 Dec 2024 11:37:18
I think it’s a steep learning curve redseven.
He went out and tried to hire two of the most successful/ sought after candidates for CEO and Sporting Director. Unfortunately, his team didn’t do enough to ensure everyone was on the same page.
Personally, I think it would have been better to wait until Berrada was in place to start looking for supporting staff. Your CEO is the one driving, and they need to make the final decision on the rest of team below them.
It seems like Berrada and Ashworth had fundamental disagreements on the future of the club. That could have been avoided if Ratcliffe had take a more patient approach to recruiting directors. However, the big difference here is that he sought out skilled people from outside the club, and made a quick decision when a conflict between the CEO and Sporting Director happened. Neither of these things would have happened under the Glazers.
12.) 09 Dec 2024 15:24:38
Pretty sure Berrada had a say in hiring Ashworth. I seem to recall email conversations between the pair taking place while both were still on gardening leave.
13.) 09 Dec 2024 19:36:44
OA how do you know Ashworth was wrong?
14.) 12 Dec 2024 08:01:27
Lads it's easy to get caught up here. Ashwort simply didn't fit into the structure or model that the United backroom is shaping into. Better to remove a problem if its not working rather than try remedy an unsolvable problem. This happens in business and happens with players too. The club removed what they perceived as a problem and acted fast. Would you all really have rather they kept on and the discontent bled into other aspects of the club?
This is a prime example of the club can do no right and there will always be a negative view point of how its been handled.

Hmm Ten Hag stays as reported by David Ornstein.

Anyone tired of the Amorim interviews? There is constant interviews since he’s been here, what's going on?
I thought he was going to tell the press team to cut them down, has he been forced to stick his face out there?
I like the guy but its excessive.
1.) 14 Dec 2024 15:55:35
Don't watch them.
2.) 14 Dec 2024 20:07:28
G_nev2
Is the 'nev' inspired by our great RB or by Neville from Trollied?
What utter walliness, wobble your head.
3.) 14 Dec 2024 22:24:36
Yeah, ignore them.
4.) 15 Dec 2024 00:03:07
I’d imagine he’s contractually obligated, InEOS need to get infront of a camera and talk to the fans.
5.) 15 Dec 2024 08:01:07
Ratcliffe gave an interview to Andy Mitten for a United fanzine just last week.
31 May 2024 09:17:05
Eric Cantona on Erik ten Hag:
I am happy with the fa cup win, he done well to win it but you can’t play counter attack football for 38 games and win the league.
Even when they have all their players they still don’t play beautiful football.
Let’s see the top reds out in force today knocking The King.
1.) 31 May 2024 11:29:16
Only the opinion of the leadership team counts g nev.
It won't be long now until the decision is made public.
I don't expect the leadership team to do a U turn.
I feel his position is 100% untenable. He knows they want a new coach he knows they are talking to others. So we just have to wait for an announcement.
Lots of ex players say he should stay others that he should but the only opinions that matter are those in charge.
Imo there is no rush or urgency required at all at this point and that the leadership team are handling the situation perfectly at the moment.
Eth is on a well deserved holiday and will be spoken to in due course. Lots of time and lots of things to get aligned.
No rush at all imo.
2.) 31 May 2024 13:09:42
@G_nev2 I saw the comment. Struck me as interesting timing as it wasn't that long after SJR tried to convince Eric to take a role in the club.
3.) 31 May 2024 13:26:33
The difference Martinez brought is immeasurable. Infectious. And, this time the players raised their game and carried out an astute tactical plan.
Keep him injury free, buy the best right footed centre back available, keep Amrabat, buy Olisse and the first part of the rebuild is there. Promote from within. Amass? Unless a much better coach is available keep Eric.
4.) 31 May 2024 15:36:05
Pretty sure Leicester won the league playing counter attacking football. Not that it overly matters.
As Ken said, leave it to the opinion of the experts, not the ex-players with no relevance.
5.) 31 May 2024 16:14:57
Good to see Eric take some time off from shilling for gambling companies to share his expert opinions on management with us.
6.) 31 May 2024 17:43:10
Patrick Martinez is my favourite player. I fear that he will always pick up injuries due to the way he plays. He is batting above his weight every week and that leaves him susceptible and takes its toll, but he is a born leader and I love his attitude.
7.) 31 May 2024 19:16:53
Ken, Pep puts him in the top 5 in the world. Who are the other 4? Buy the right footed one! Also, did Cannovaro or Baresi get injured often? Also, on Saturday did you notice how well the rest of the defence played? He is infectious. He is that good.
8.) 31 May 2024 22:42:29
They weren't playing in the epl Patrick, the fact is he has been available about half the time he has been here 2 great players you mention neither were as aggressive as him and played very differently.
Yes he is infectious a true sign of a leader.
The whole team not only the defence played well mate. Quite simply they had a plan played to, and executed the plan. Well drilled and set up.
9.) 01 Jun 2024 08:27:04
Agree Ken and yes the epl is a lot tougher. I was comparing him with the Italians on ability and wishing Lecha could stay injury free! Yes, the whole team played well. When you have someone of his ability, drive and tenacity behind you your inhibitions go and your confidence exudes. That allied to an excellent game plan won the day.
I thought Baresi was quite aggressive mind!
10.) 01 Jun 2024 10:17:14
Yeah but he hid it well Patrick. Top player.
11.) 01 Jun 2024 11:05:25
He was Ken. And played in an unbelievable team!
12.) 01 Jun 2024 11:11:22
He is fantastic, critical to the team.
18 Dec 2024 11:36:15
Crystal palace his level. Reminds me of zaha, turns up when he likes and does a bit here and there but not consistent.
11 Dec 2024 14:41:21
Ajh, i think Rashford is best when he doesn’t have to think too much. Mid level finisher but that is his strongest point.
He’s not that talented i'm sorry to say. But i respect your view and we can both disagree.
11 Dec 2024 11:46:00
Imo you’re wrong angel. I don’t think he does have the talent. If he did he’d make a lot better decisions on the ball. He constantly makes the wrong call when the balls at his feet, or approaching him.
He was fortunate to have a very short period where he was on fire but i don’t think that's all the talent in the world.
28 Sep 2024 18:36:36
3 years 700m, 1 beat city cup (yehhh) 1 league cup an 8th place finish ?♂️ shocker.
26 Jul 2024 17:20:11
Dalot = bang average, agree with TW. He cannot cross nor defend. He has got an engine but that's about it. Seems a bit stupid as well.
18 Apr 2025 20:41:10
Only player i'd keep tbh, and that's a huge swing for me as i could not stand him. Some things he's been doing recently I've been liking off the pitch, taking some people out for dinner that were made redundant. Its not a lot but it shows a bit of reality from him.
On the pitch he is the only one that shows up every game, i’d play him up front, he probably would score a lot, he’d demand the ball.
18 Apr 2025 20:37:08
We won in the end tw and that’s all that matters but to start blowing trumpets i won’t do. We should never have been in that position and it wasn’t a great night at all. We got lucky with the pen and then the push imo.
Only thing i’d give maguire credit for is keeping his head down and not being disruptive (which is his job getting paid 200k+) apart from that nothing more.
18 Apr 2025 19:13:25
If you say so. He was shredded for their 3rd, he’s low tier football ability wise, and was the same again last night, reminds me of the old division 3 games i used to go watch, lumping to the block head center back to get a goal.
Keep kidding yourself it was a great night, Ruben knows it wasn’t, watch his post match interview he wasn’t happy at all.
18 Apr 2025 14:53:06
Maguires trash, he ducked for their 2nd, let their winger skin him in our box for their 3rd and should have been blown for a foul for his winner. let's not get it twisted because his names on the scoresheet.
06 Apr 2025 21:10:49
Can’t disagree with ed, i see no light at the end of the tunnel and i been walking 12 years ?.
{Ed025's Note - its a hard slog watching United these days G nev, you used to have some great teams and great players mate but this present team are as bad as iv seen, im an Evertonian and even though we are poor i cant think of any player in your squad (besides Bruno and possibly Mainoo) that i would want in our team..
