Good morning lads and laddies, full time reader odd time poster,
Been reading this site a good bit(at least 3 times daily) the last 2 months, fair play to the eds, and all frequent posters on ere.
3 weeks ago I watched the Keane/Viera, best of enemies, and just around the same time the Arturo Vidal rumors started to really come to the boil, so I watched a bit of him back, you tube etc, he is the box to box midfielder, that the majority on here seem to crave, he is all action, i.e never afraid of a tackle, good eye for a pass, and goal, but there is one difference with himself and keane, there is a touch of class. Keane was great, brilliant, fantastic, the best, but when he opened his mouth he let himself down, always had too much to say, and rarely in a good way, but anyway what I really came on to say was that Vidal deal is done, Juve accepted an offer, down to finer details of personnel terms, agent looking for hose thrown in too, also vermalen should be done and dusted this time next week, Hummels will be his cb partner, but may have to wait for this as Klopp going to try and convince him to stay.

Thanks for reading

Lorcan Holden

1.) Lorcan, are these your views or are you connected to the deals? Happy if these are true. however not so sure about the Hummels/Vermarlen partnership as thatcwould be 2 predominantly left sided players which never really works. I can see both coming in but a partnership of 1 plus either Jones/Smalling/Evans or a new edition of De Vries.
Obviously that gouges out the window if we do play 3 at the back!

2.) 23 Jul 2014 09:19:47
Can't really see that a hose will be a deal breaker but I did hear he was an avid gardener!

3.) I think he ment to say his agent is looking for a couple of prostitutes thrown in.

4.) "Thanks for reading" well thanks for robbing me of a few minutes of my life . Firstly Vidal is not as good as keane was has Vidal (no pun intended) had a "Juventus" moment like Keane, did he single handedly drag his team to a CL final? How as Vidal played in European competition, does Vidal have the same effect on his team as Keane . Also your "class" staement doesn't ring through, Vidal has been kind of stringing the media, Juve & Utd (to a certain degree) by not confirming his situation . There were rumours about Keane leaving Utd before he signed his last big contract but as soon as it was signed that was it no rumours he was staying at Utd . Vidal signe a 4+yr contract with Juventus 8mths ago and already is toying with his club and the media .I'm not sure what your idea of class is but Vidal is not showing it . Also your rumour is waffle although as I'm responding to your post a couple of days since you posted you may have come back with another scenario . #onehasashorttermmemory

Well lads, ladies, easy and the millions reading around the world.

Can't help but be impressed by the news conference this morning. Was expecting a more confrontational JM after his exit last season from CFC, and he appeared to carry himself with an air of maturity. Genuinely excited now for the coming season and year's.

Can't help but feel we could be seeing the end of Waza. Can't see him fitting in considering the arrival of Mhikitaryan and Ibra, Rashford and Martial just bring some much more both going forward and defending. As he eluded to it may be a case of players not getting their game in the 1st week or so and requesting a move. And should Pogba return it's curtains for him,

I think he said all the right things and enjoyed the banter with the press officer re the third signing. The main thing that I noted however, was that Jose did not seem to be particularly happy. He's just been given one of the best jobs in world football and yet he looks like a man that's just watched his puppy get flattened by a Land Rover.

To me he didn't look unhappy. Just a focused man who's looking to get back to work and prove his doubters wrong.

Afternoon lads and ladies,

Been looking at the fixture list this morning, and I reckon, we have a serious chance of entering the month of November unbeaten, and possibly top of the league, due to our fixtures and no cl. Compare our fixtures to Arsenal, City, CFC and pool, AFC play 4 of last season top 6, in first 2 months, same for city, 3 out of 6 for CFC, and same for pool. Add into that the CL commitments of the above, so serious chance of being top and with a lot of momentum going into the winter/xmas period.

Just a thought, would you reckon the current squad is strong enough to fight solely for the league? Or CL qualification? That has been set as the must for LVG, so maybe we might see more movement in the Jan window than this one, please comment and tell me i'm daft, cheers lads and great job eds

1.) We must get stronger at CB, CM, and WB, or W in the 4-3-3 to be real challengers. Any more injuries in those positions and we could struggle. Looking forward to a great start tomorrow!

2.) With the current squad we will have to be extremely lucky with injuries to be able to mount a challenge for the title.

But I think Liverpool did it last season with a worse defence and riding on the form of few attacking players.

If RvP, Rooney, Mata and Herrera hit the ground running I think we can surely challenge.

Having said that I do think we will get in a few players before the end of the window.

3.) We will not be challenging for the title unless some quality new arrivals come in and going unbeaten in those games is completely different to winning those games

4.) Not with that attitude red79 we are not.

5.) It is not an attitude MB I have watched every minute of preseason and went to see the Valencia game in person as well I have seen nothing to suggest we can crack the top four with this squad we only have 5 recognised 1st team defenders 3 of which are injured while the other 2 are made of glass our midfield is not top class if herrera were to get injured our cm pairing would have to be made up of fletcher/clevery/fellaini and maybe kagawa (still feeling confident?) up front we are fine as long as they are fit which is no given as RVP and Rooney are both injury prone as well out of our youngsters the only one who I think are actually ready for 1st team football are Januzaj obviously and I have been very impressed with blackett and would give him a shot then we have the wingers none of which are top drawer or can they defend properly which we have seen time and again with them not tracking runners

6.) Problem is we have a lot of injuries already. These games are not easy, anything can happen early season.
We needed new faces and we haven't got them. So if we can remain unbeaten in first six matches, will be an achievement.

7.) Red79 I am not at all saying that the squad is good and we don't have any deficiencies.

Yes we need a good CM and a good CB. Another attacking option will also be needed.

I am just saying that if Liverpool could do it last season with the squad they had then we shouldn't just rule out that we can't do it at all.

We shouldn't just say that we can't do it at all.

8.) Ok MB I understand what you are saying and it is a fair point but I just cannot see us going through the season without injuries going by previous seasons

Lads, Think your being a bit harsh on Woody, in fairness he had a shocker last summer, hopping around europe throwing bids at this lad and that lad, all played out in the media, rooney wanting out, all being played out in the media. Compare that to this year, bid submitted for Shaw last day of the season, rejected, then nothing for 5/6 weeks, then signed, Herrera debacle from last year we all remember, this year, bid submitted, rejected(accepted really), then signed. that's good business, and a good job, and sure as hell he has learnt from his mistakes from last summer so I say fair play and keep it going. Keep your eye on ssn early next week, reckon a good bit could happen.
