Hi Ed. After a stuttering couple of seasons with Ajax Vicktor Fischer is starting to show the ability that made him one of the most sought after talents in Europe. With United looking for wide attackers is he a possibility?

curby235

{Ed002's Note - No the interest MU had in Viktor Fischer has long gone - he was been subject to summer interest from Aston Villa but the previous interest from Milan, Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Spurs, Roma and Werder Bremen drifted away with poor performances and a lengthy injury. Ajax has negotiated a new contract with him and won't be looking to sell in January.}

Hi Ed. I see the Liverpool Echo are reporting that Real Madrid are poised to beat Liverpool to the signing of Marco Reus. I am not in the habit of believing scourers but if true surely Reus, Rodriguez, Bale, Ronaldo and Isco competing for the same positions would be far too much. Any danger of Real selling one as part of a DDG transfer?

{Ed001's Note - Isco has been close to leaving in the past, so that is a possibility. I doubt any of it has anything to do with DDG and his transfer though.}

I don't think Liverpool were ever in that race tbh - even if they actually thought they were.

Liverpool weren't ever in the race for Rues, we were after Firmino and got him. Just like we are not in for Pedro either, despite what the papers are saying.

Hi Ed, Is there any truth that we are in negotiations with Benzema? I think he would be outstanding in the EPL and a fantastic replacement for RVP

According to Benzemas agent, no meeting took place between him and Ed Woodward.
Benzema wants to see out his contract with Madrid, and will only think about leaving if he's surplus to requirements.

2.) 07 Jun 2015 12:42:55
So, that leaves us with Cavanni or Higuain ?! Or RVP :)

3.) 07 Jun 2015 13:48:36
I'd still prefer a fit and motivated RVP to Rooney or any other striker we're linked with tbh.

4.) 07 Jun 2015 14:43:16
RVP can't run. And he seems lately very top heavy.
He knows he won't be 1st choice anymore hence why he wants to leave so he gets in the Euro squad.

I think he's fit FZZ he's just not match fit, the one game he had against WBA he was the star, making runs, chances, shots, the one making things happen, missed a pen I know but he looked sharp. Just don't see a top striker being signed of Rooney is captain tbh.

Hi Ed, What impact do you think the failing economy and collapse on the rouble will have on Russian clubs? Do you forsee a raft of sales of top players out of Russia?

curby235

{Ed002's Note - The issue is something else, but there are a considerable number of "overpaid" players in Russia (e.g. Hulk, Witsel, Valbuena, Movsisyan, Kuranyi and Ozbiliz) who are earning significant wages and bonuses.

The Russian Football Union has been trying to negotiate a salary cap (at the behest of the Government) but it is not being well received. The clubs are not in an Anzhi-type situation but would generally welcome a reduction in wages. Three Russian clubs (Zenit St Petersburg, Anzhi Makhachkala and Rubin Kazan) are subject to UEFA sanctions (similar in a way to Manchester City and PSG) and each wants that behind them.

The likely result will be that (a) a salary cap will be gradually introduced over perhaps a three year period, (b) a number of the higher paid players (such as those named above) will be offered a one off payment in exchange for a salary reduction but this may not be attractive to all; (c) a number of the higher paid players (such as those named above) will be sold in the summer.}

Interesting, i wouldn't be surprised if we show interest in Witsel or Ozbiliz in the future

It concerns me that once again like cup final day the press seem to have been briefed about Mata and Blind by Jose's people. Both players have represented the club with enormous class and dignity both on the pitch and off it with community and charity work. When both have been dropped they haven't cried to the press like Falcao or Di Maria but have worked harder to get back in. Its right that Jose bring in players that suit his system but its important that people are treated right in the process. I can absolutely see Blind at Barcelona and he might end up making us look very foolish in the future.

If ADM is joining PSG and that RVP is joining Fenerbache I would have thought Cavani is the most likely player to be included in the deal
