What is happening at Manchester United?

We have players with crafts quality and guile. However, Mourinho has them either on the bench or reigned in. Its long crossfield balls from the first minute till the last. We are going to miss out on top 4 again and once more it is because of a manager who refuses to let the players play actual football. We are a shambles and Mourinho better have a few ideas up his sleeve for next season because he won't be allowed another one like this.

The hard truth is we don't have many players that have quality. We have a lot of really poor passers of the ball.

{Ed025's Note - its the style in which they are being asked to play thats the problem rosie..

Why is everyone talking about 'looking like a Jose team' as if when this happens all will be good. People are so blinded by Jose's own egotistical trumpet blowing that they don't realise how poor his tactics are. His last season at Chelsea should have been the end of his PL career as his tactics are backward and his treatment of staff and players is horrendous. All you folk slated LVG yet want Jose style of play which is backs to the wall, counter attacking rubbish. Teams don't play into his hands anymore, they keep the ball and don't overcommit. Said it when he was appointed and haven't stopped saying it, Mourinho won't make Utd better, not this season and not next (if we are unlucky enough that he stays) .

Liverpool fan here and may be Ed04 could help me.
Not getting into the match analysis. I really feel for Marcus Radhford. By mid December jose will turn him to be a full back at this rate. Rate the lad very high and he was just brilliant while last season. Jose with his defensive mentality would ruin the kid.

What's your thought Ed04?

Peace out Guys.

Good luck for the Derby.

{Ed004's Note - I don't think Mourinho will ruin him. He is getting plenty of game time. There won't be many games this year where we will have to defend as much as the past 2 games. He will also get plenty of time up top as Ibrahimovic will need to be rested more as the season goes on.}

We did slate LVG your right.

But after a full season and half not bloody 10 games! Get a life.

'Get a life' . On she forum as you. I was actually including his final half season at Chelsea as well.

I think we need something radical to happen. Mourinho will probably get us into the top 4 comfortably but I think what we really need, long term, is a major shake-up. So here goes -

Fergie is gone, we need a new manager who is in it for the long term to come in (after Mou) and totally clear the decks. We need him to bring in his own coaches and get rid of Rooney, Carrick, Jones, Smalling, Young, Valencia and the rest of SAF's boys (many may have left anyway) . He needs to bring in his own philosophy and his own culture because there will never be another Fergie and we need to stop trying to recreate his style and move out of his massive shadow. I think when we brought in Moyes that we should have went for De Boer, Klopp, Someone, Pep or Blanc as that team needed to be cleared out but hey, that's in the past.

Ideas for who this could be? Well Warren Joyce would be a fairytale but maybe we should look outside the club. I am still a big De Boer fan but let's see how he does in the next couple of years. Koeman could be a plan or Pottechino.

I realise this is a few years off but its just dozing I've been thinking about.

People on this site are incredibly harsh on Schwieni. Whenever he plays he is always driving forward, pressing the ball and pushing his teammates on. The keys and quality may not be quite there but he has been no where near our worse performer.

As for Zlatan, it would certainly be a signing to bring back the fear factor which is exactly what's needed.

It'll end up being Cilsen (spelling) . Ronnie - Butland is a decent shout and that's who I'd like but there's no chance it'll be the other 2.

You'd sell Smalling and Mata? Why? Why get rid of our best CB and best player?

Short term - Low.

Long Term - De Boer (who I think we should have tried to bring I with Louis)

Pep is boring, from his style of football to his press conferences.

Sir Alex conducted himself with class, he kept a lot of matters in house and the ones he never brought it upon themselves.

Also SchMidfield, I believe that legends of our club have said the same thing in the past. Managing Utd comes with an expectation that you conduct yourself in accordance to the high standards of Man Utd. I really do not like Pep either and think his whole replacement of Heyneckes was done appallingly and that he is treating Hart and Toure terribly. However, dare I say it, Manchester Utd have a much higher standard and better reputation than City do.

Pep is receiving no criticism? What? Have you not read a paper or browsed the likes of BBC Sports/ Sky Sports? Pep is rightfully talking flak for the way he is treating Hart, much more flak - rightfully - than Jose is.

I think Schweinsteiger did his absolute ask for Utd. If you watch back Amy game he played he was always driving forward, organising and costing down defenders. In fact I can remember one game where we were getting best and he was the only player on our team chasing the ball and trying to make something happen. If you're going to argue that Schweinsteiger was LVG's worst sitting, ignoring Rojo and Di Maria etc, then you must be doing so because he is an LVG 'boy' rather than because of his performances.
