A query for the eds about transfers

If a player has 2 years left of his contract and the club decides they no longer want him how do they go about transferring him

Do they tell him
Do they tell his agent and the agent starts looking for a new club
Does his current club start phoning clubs to see if any are interested
How much say does the player have
If they sell him does he get part of the transfer fee

Just interested
Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - They will talk with the player and his agent. If he has not asked for the move he gets 5%. No player can be forced to move - they have to agreeany contract.}

Thanks Ed002, this explains why some players will just sit on the bench (if they are lucky) and keep taking the wages.

As a player I’ve had it where I’ve had 2 years left and wasn’t happy so I asked my agent to speak to clubs and iniciated a move and moved clubs and if a club wants to sell a player the manager will speak the player and say he can leave then the agent speaks to clubs sometimes the selling club will offer a compromise for the wages if lower to get the player a move although any player doesn’t ever have to move of under contract some are forced to train alone or with youth teams to force them out.

There are rumours that Collen may divorce Wayne Rooney. If she does then she would expect to get half of everything that he owns. This would mean that she would have 2.5 more premiership medals than Steven Gerrard.

I know people who were at the United party after the match. Supposedly the atmosphere was dreadful and Van Gaal knew he was going to get sacked because of what his wife said to someone I know very well. Can't say who that person is or exactly what was said to them.

Nice rumour but I reckon LVG was sacked for being rubbish rather than for his wife being loose lipped.

On a serious note. It was obvious for months was it not?

Personally, I suspect LVG knew the writing was on the wall after West Ham away.

Agreed mdh. He drove past me yesterday in his golf buggy (not waved of his next door neighbour as usual) and didn't look to have a care in the world. He must be really thick or extremely arrogant not to have seen his sacking coming. He's been rubbish manager.

Ron Atkinson did not do anything for the youth development, he never went to see the kids play and did not even know their names. When Fergie arrived in no time he knew all the kids and their parents. fergie did not benefit from anything Ron Atkinson did and inherited a squad who had some serious drinkers that Ron Atkinson had done nothing about.

{Ed001's Note - sorry but that is not quite true. Atkinson did not go and see the kids play and Fergie did get to know them all, that I fully agree with. But it was Atkinson who put in place the changes to the academy that bore fruit in Fergie's time. While it is arguable how much involvement he had in the plans, probably almost none, he still had to agree to it as the manager at the time. It is probably best that he had no involvement and left it to people who understood youth development if anything. However he does deserve the credit for the decisions made as he could have easily blocked them.}
