Surely we'd be better off signing Khedira and De Jong for less money than Vidal on his own would cost?
Herrara is going to do the job Vidal would have been bought to do so Khedira and De Jong for their strength and work rate in midfield.
Double swoop for Khedira and Di Maria? I'd love to see it happen and surely Madrid would be more reasonable if they're selling two players.
Get Fellaini and Cleverley out and we'd have top midfielders with Carrick and Fletcher providing experienced cover and young guys like Powell and Lingard coming through

KevTheRed

1.) Khadira is severely overrated! Much better options out there

2.) Vidal would lift us up a couple of levels instantly. If available for £50mil we need to go all out.

3.) Why would RM be more reasonable if they're selling two players? Khedira could possibly help to solve some of our problems, but De Jong? No thanks!

4.) I agree about the positional sense of transfer targets, however, that is the best game I've seen Khedira have! Prior to that, I've never understood what the fuss is all about, and let's be honest, we can barely go off that performance with the gulf in class. There are much better players in a similar role, and for the probable money that would be asked I'd say that our interest should lie elsewhere.

I like Khedira but I just feel thee is better out there for the role we need mate, but i'd be happy if we got him tbh.

De Jong i'm not so keen on for a few reasons lol

More of a question for the Eds than a rumour.
AC Milan have had a poor season in Serie A, there is uncertainty with the manager etc.
They do however, have some very talented players! Defenders like De Sciglio, Mexes, Montalivo in midfield and attacking players like El Sharawy and Balotelli who under a strong manager like LvG would be an asset to any team.
My question to the Eds is, could you see many of their big players being tempted away from the San Siro and if so, would United be interested?
I for one would take any of the players I've mentioned

KevTheRed

{Ed002's Note - This is just a random list of players that Manchester United have shown no interest in.}

1.) I'd take De Sciglio in a heartbeat but aside from perhaps El Sharaawy (I'd want him to have an injury free season elsewhere to see just how badly his recent injuries have stunted his development) I wouldn't want any of the players you mentioned.

I'd be surprised if we moved for any Milan players but would not be surprised to see Balo or El Sharaawy move on this summer.

Shaw deal will surely be done before the WC as Hodgson has made it clear he doesn't want players being distracted. That would be LB sorted for many years to come.
People are being far too pesimistic about CB if you ask me! I personally think Jones has huge potential and Smalling and Evans can be good too if they keep fit which IMO, is the only problem. (Ferguson himself in his book names Smalling and Evans as a potential future CB pairing). I do agree we need one big player to control the defense, a Hummels, Mangala or Dante. I don't rate Garay as highly as most people seem to and I've seen quite a bit of him. After that, I'd give Michael Keane a chance in the squad. Had a good season on loan and letting him train with the first team and playing him in Capital One matches etc. would be perfect for the lad I think.
Rafael is a good option at RB but still far from the finished article. While I hugely admire Coleman from Everton I think for the money he'd cost, we'd be better keep Raf and maybe look to someone else to cover for him. One player who is available this summer is Sagna of Arsneal. At 31 he would provide experience for the next 2-3 seasons while Rafael learns the game more and also recovers from injury.
Provided RVP keeps fit he's an obvious choice up front with Welbeck as back up. Let Hernandez go along with either Nani or Young (I'd keep one but only as cover) We need to sign a top winger- Sanchez possibly available from Barca, Reus and Di María could go if we are willing to pay enough. That leaves a three behind RVP of the new winger, Rooney and Mata. Januzaj will get games too in rotation. Valencia is a worker so for that reason I'd keep him as a squad player.
CM is our biggest problem (as everyone knows) A player everyone is forgetting about is Kagawa who I think is top class and has developed a good connection with Mata. He could possibly play a deeper role and move the ball forward? Cover would be needed for this- an experienced player such as Xavi or Lampard, in case Kagawa doesn't suit the role.
Vidal would be perfect to play beside him with Carrick as experience and Fellaini hopefully growing as a player. Fletcher is a good player for the squad. Sell Anderson and Cleverley.
Powell and Lingard both done well on loan last seaon so give them a chance- Lingard up front as more cover for RVP and Welbeck and Powell in CM.

1.) Did u watch southampton game? Kagawa was useless in the middle. He plays best in the hole which he surely won't get to play so I think we should let him go. I like the lad but playing him in wings is useless

I think United should go in for Coentrao, Alonso and Di Maria from RM. All players would be available at the right price and all three are badly needed! Sign them and a good CB (hopefully Garay) and it would be a successful January window! We could offload Young and Anderson too

Why aren't we looking at Hughes from Derby? I watched him against Chelsea on Sunday and he looked like a young player who could fit right in at United! I believe Liverpool have first refusal on him but we should do what we can to sign a young talented midfielder!

Carvalho looks to be done and he can be slowly introduced to first team football with Carrick playing in the defensive position of midfield when more experience is needed. I'd personally like to see Vidal as the other midfield player but would be more than happy with Kroos, Gundogan or Modric.
We need a pacey winger and Di Maria will be available at the right price. Him on one wing, Januzaj on the other, Mata behind Rooney who is clearly best when played as a striker and playing him there allows Mata to play in his preferred 10 position. Kagawa provides cover and other options for the 3 behind Rooney. Possibly time to move RVP on while we'd still get some money for him? We could use him to sweeten any deals for Vidal/Di Maria etc.
Coleman and Shaw would give us two of the best young full backs in the game. Garay would provide cover although I don't know if he's what we need as a first team player. We may need to spend big on a top class defender who can fill the gap for 2/3 years until Smalling and Jones can step up and become our first choice centre backs. Dante maybe? Mangala?
