Wenger confirms we have bid for Vermaelen. I think if he stays fit he could be a good addition.
1.) There was a very good piece about Vermaelns injuries on sportswitness where last Feb he was told to have 3 weeks of at least but he played 3 games in a week (He was rubbish) by having injections,
2.) Wenger has confirmed Vermaelen COULD leave, and the Man Utd COULD be in a group of teams interested in him. Hardly confirming a bid.
3.) "Have we received bids? Yes. I can't tell you who from but you will know very soon, " Wenger said. "Are Manchester United one of the teams to have made an offer? I think they could be in the group.Ideally, yes, we would like to sell him abroad and that is an option for us."
I'm taking that as read we have. They'd rather sell to Barca, both teams would rather have Hummels but he's going to be hard to get. Vermaelen needs to weigh up third choice at Barca or starter for us.
4.) Reddub -
Arsene Wenger is an experienced manager. He'll have known exactly how his comments would be spun by the press and I doubt very much that he'd have made them if we weren't very interested in the player and there wasn't a good chance he'd be leaving.
5.) Personally I would rather get vermalen rather than hummels as he has the premier league experience and I also hope that we get de Jong instead of Vidal

7.) Sydney I'm just saying that I think that hummels is going to cost a lot of money for someone who doesn't have pace and when your playing 3 at the back u can't be exposed by a quick striker!! Also if the club wanted Vidal we would of got him by now I would like de Jong now and stroitman in January and then spend decent money on di maria

Guillem Balague now tweeting that Barca are confident everything has been done for them to sign Vermaelen, adds up with Arsenal not wanting to sell to a rival in the EPL
1.) Yes, SSN reporting that united have pulled out because Arsenal wanted a swap deal included. We need to get our finger out quick and get some deals wrapped up!
2.) If Barcelona get TV, then we will have no choice bu to pay over the odds for a Hummels or Benatia.
3.) Looks like we missed out. 15million for a 29 year old sick note in his final year of his contract I think I speak on behalf of the majority that I'm glad we haven't signed him.
Ive heard of him and watched him in some of the world cup games but how good is he? would he be a starter of back up? any input would be much appreciated.

If this is true is just just sums up the amateur transfer business of utd this window. Woodward is making our club look embarrassing with low offers and running out of time to complete deals. If they fail to sign anyone this window I feel sorry for DM, he's not in control of the transfer activity and has on more than 1 occasion expressed his desire to add to our curretn squad. let's hope Ed has a few tricks up his sleeve but I seriously doubt it.

If this is true, I am just asking the question why didn't Herrera play today? he's a regular for Bilbao. not saying your wrong but you would think (well like to think) its beacuse he's moving to utd.
