I am getting sick to death with all the DM slagging off bad result yesterday strange substitutions but how many times have we pulled it out of the bag like southampton did yesterday
course its a strange feeling at present no SAF to guide us now its all new once we get a couple of good results it will click into place
another thing would finishing outside the top 4 actualy b a good thing the players would hopefully see then that we have been lucky with an average team and invest in some world class players to go with the youngsters coming through get rid of the redwood and start looking forward to next year.

1.) 20 Oct 2013 11:30:30
How do you propose we bring in "world class" players if we are not in CL?

If we finish outside top4 we will only be able to attract mediocre players unless we pay well over the odds for top talent.

You should have said maybe/hopefully we will sack DM and bring in a better manager.

Why we didn't go for Klopp amazes me. IMO get rid of Moyes in May, therefore scrapping this season and start to build next year with an astute, entertaining manager in Klopp.

2.) Its not just ONE bad result though is it?
Its been one poor display after another with poor selection and tactics week after week.
Would it be a good thing to finish outside the top 4? are you being serious? It would make them invest in world class players? what world class players will sign for a club not playing UCL football? more likely is we have to sell rooney, DDG or adnan to cover our losses and replace them with more average players. that's the reality of what could happen if things aren't fixed soon

Am I the only 1 who is behind moyes for gods sake give man a chance ok appreciate its not nice to b a utd supporter at the moment but we have played 6 games not 26 we have to give him time to get it right
I know its not nice at the moment 3 defeats out of 6 but no team has shown decent form at the moment
come Jan if we are 5 points from the top we would be delighted and I am sure of new signings in Jan to push the team forward
today was a bad day but the team selection was better and we must admit 2 well worked goals from brom just not our day to me now and I think a lot of older posters a defeat is not now a matter of life or death not nice to loose but we will come back k stronger for this
give moyes a chance all these bad vibes are no good for the manager or players we will pull through we are united we will never give up
don't forget the sign at the stretford end 'the chosen one' he is a red now give him the support sir Alex got and mark my words happy days are ahead

six feet two eyes of blue

1.) It is slowly looking that way mate :) I supported his appointment but starting to agree with the guys who have been against the whole idea. I am more disappointed with the players to be honest as they have been absolute rubbish.

2.) Potentially utd could drop to 16th come monday night. worrying times

3.) I want to give Moyes time and think he will do well. Losing at home to West Brom is sickening and a lot of fans that are backing him are finding their arguments are starting to look weak.

Some positives to take from today (minimal as they were), and we aren't that far behind. We all knew it would be a tough transition. I think it will click soon.

Could you imagine if we didn't have Rooney anymore? I was wanting him gone but at the minute he is our saving grace.

4.) For me its not the results its the performances and lack of creativity over the 6 games.
We were just as poor today as we were the first game of preseason and we don't look like were moving forward or trying to change tactics to achieve better performances.
He hasn't a clue what his best team I think he's struggling badly to adapt to the size of the job he's now got even after a few months.
Iv said before he needs time but I see nothing each week to that says any progress is being made so how much time does he get? Today was winnable, we lost. The next 5 games should be winnable but what if we drop more points? What if were 15+ points behind by xmas? What if we don't finish to 4?
With teams like chelsea and city with all their financial power and spurs and arsenal who are both showing signs of improvement we can't afford to fall too far behind because failiure to qualify for the UCL next season would be a disaster, we need to achieve that in order to attract the elite players we desperately need to improve us

5.) Where has sydney been. Please! Stop it! lol

6.) 28 Sep 2013 19:06:07
United looked off pace, no intensity, no urgency and very complacent, except for a few passes and maybe the final minutes of the match.

It's easy to criticise DM for everything but, the players have let themselves, the fans and the manager down on the pitch, with some lackluster performances.

For the first goal, Ferdinand is at fault for sure. He was at the edge of the box, nobody covering him, he should have just delayed his tackle so as to allow the other defenders to try to get back, but even then it was a nothing tackle in the end. Also, both Carrick & Jones should be breaking their necks to get back to cover Ferdinand but, they seemed to care less.

The second goal, once again Ferdinand was slow to tackle and Jones was right in front of De Gea and absolutely did nothing, atleast he should have tried to close the space and put his body on the line.

It was frustrating as a United fan, the way the players are performing on the pitch.

Hoping they make some clever signings, in midfield(CM & on the wings) as well as some good CB, come this January.

7.) Give Moyes a year to settle in. He has moved up to a big club and it will take him a while to settle in, assess his squad and make the relevant changes.

You are in a similar situation as Liverpool were over the past couple of years as in the older and non-productive players need to be moved on and a younger, fresher squad needs to be assembled. Brendan Rodgers himself admitted that his first year at Liverpool was about getting to know the team and coming to terms with the magnitude of the club, and now he is doing a great job in making the transition.

The best advice I can give you is back the manager and give him a chance. It would be a difficult task for any manager taking over from SAF.

as an evertonian I was dissapointed when moyes left but wished him well with utd.
on reflection I think moyes is unable to have the same authority over the team as saf
at the moment he is looking out of his dept, and i'm sure saf will be having some words in his ear

9.) Baby Faced

"failiure to qualify for the UCL next season would be a disaster, we need to achieve that in order to attract the elite players we desperately need to improve us"

I would not worry about that too much as it is something most players use as an excuse when they are looking for a move.

Pay the transfer fees and Pay the wages and they will come, evident by Monaco and the russian/Ukranian clubs whose domestic leagues and weather is atrocious. Call it a project as it is called fashionably nowadays by many of the clubs and players :)

{Ed002's Note - Seems you also suffer pig ignorance of world geography as well as football.}

So 5 games in 7 points all the glory people calling for moyes' head. What is up with our supporters we have really got embarrassed by some of our supporters who think it is our divine right to win every game.

I am not going to go on about the good old days when a cup win was wonderful but we have been so spoilt in recent years . The funny thing is when united lose it is not normally by an odd goal it is normally by 4, 5, or on the odd occasion, 6.
Think back over the years when this has happened and the people who would be doom and gloom saying we are finished and sir Alex has lost the plot strange how things turned out then

this brings us back to yesterday. Terrible result yesterday but we will as normal pull through it it is the way we play I would not put it past us now to go on a 10-15 game beaten run now its our nature yes people moan about DM but for gods sake give him time he needs time to get his best team together. yes he should have signed a couple more players but you can't blame him for that, blame Edward for that mess.

for me this is a bedding in season top 4 finish I would be be happy with leave him alone to get his best team get rid of the redwood at the end of the season sign the players he wants next summer then judge him till then get behind him and the boys it is a learning curve for DM the boys and us come on you reds you always do us proud it is a privalige to b part of the greatest family on earth. We should all remember that

six feet two eyes of blue

1.) 10-15 beaten run, mmmmm that sounds good!

2.) Six feet two - though I agree with supporting the new manager IMO I think you are missing the point. It is not just Sundays game or 7 pts from 5 games its the manner in which we have played.
Yes you can blame DM for the lack of transfer activity after all he was appointed on 010713 with a full summer to bring in new players like Pellergrini and AVB for example.
Moyes had the added advantage of knowing the PM and the Utd squad from his time at Everton.
Have you honestly seen anything in any our games under DM to suggest we are in a transition for the better?

3.) Six feet. Non of us wants to see united lose against city and absolutely be thrashed in the process. If city had not taken their foot off, it could have been six or seven.
Moyes has chosen to come in and not change the side or the personnel or the tactics. We had six are season and 5 PL and 1 Cl games. A playing style should have slowly started to develop by now. But all we get is the same old Valencia on the right, young on the left and two midfielders trying to stop city's five midfielders (nasri was tucking in a lot when city did not have the ball). City are showing signs of playing a modern game with modern tactics, while we choose to play two wingers away from home against the best midfield in the land. Who's idea was that?
We have a fantastic midfielder in our squad, kagawa, and he doesn't get a look in. We had Rio/vidic playing five games on the trot and Rio in particular looking very tired. A left back in evra who is still out of position 80% of the game.
Your observation that when we lose, we always get thrashed is nonsense. We did get thrashed by city two years ago, but last year for instance, we did not lose by more than one goal.
But most alarmingly, the performance against Chelsea, Liverpool and city showed that we have no idea of tactics. And against city, we had no fight and that is unacceptable.

4.) Sorry red since68 should b unbeaten that's why you should always check predictive text!

5.) Nomidfield, you don't think City tried to score more goals? Sort it out lad. They tried to score 6 or 7.

6.) 24 Sep 2013 09:18:16
did u see how moyes was relaxing on the bench, whdn we where down 2, 0 and he did nothing about it even when they scored 2 more goals in the second halv. I don't mind we lost the game but we where poor and even hull played better then us when they lost to city 2, 0. if we can't win against our rival's and play poor against chelsea, liverpool, city do u guys think we will beat tottenham arsenal and everton, I will watch the game against liverpool tomorrow then I will jugde moyes need's 2 understand we are not everton, even everton is doing better without moyes I hope he proves me wrong but he made a huge mistake with his backroom staff why did he not keep rene 4 one year so he could learn from him and I don't think he is useing saf to give him advice, and city has a new manager as well but he is doing fine, I hope it will be more empty seat's at old trafford, so maybe the glazer's understand's that they need 2 spend our they can forget about sponsor deals because they will leave us soon if they don't spend some cash they have done it 4 couple of year's already so guys u leave's in england should start doing something about it or we will become like liverpool and we will struggle 2 get good player's, sorry 4 the long post guys i'm just frustrated zee

7.) Crap post and I've been going since '78 and have every right to challenge the decision to bring a loser like moyes to old trafford, his tactics were and are don't lose 1st try to win 2nd, you only have to listen to the everton fans who couldn't be happier with tgere more flowing footie, barkley even intimated that under moyes he wouldn't have got his chance this season, we will see giggs back now after sunday as he will be evem more defensive and in need of a comfort blanket, i'm not a blind lemming and agree with everything my club says.

8.) Acker,

"Moyes had the added advantage of knowing the PM and the Utd squad from his time at Everton".

What the hell has David Cameron got to do with it? lol

new poster on site it worries me that a lot of the younger posters have no real reality of what it is like
to support the reds I go back to the early 70s when we used to be caged in at the Stretford end after being there all morning to pay at the gate like others have posted a good f a cup run was the highlight of the season relegation then followed but boy didnt. the doc give us a team to watch the most exiting team I think I have had the pleasure to watch the 80s came and Dave sexton and big Ron and still the highlight was the f a cup. then of course the late 80s and the boss came slow start for him but the old favorite the f a cup started it for him the rest as they say we all know is history.
my point is people who have not been through all this and know no different have been. spoilt and it is now expected to win every thing each year sign big names etc .
just remember we are a proud club with no divine right to win trophies year in year out yes it is nice don't get e wrong
all I am saying is this season get behind Dave and the boys if things don't go too well don't slag them off give them the support they need. and don't forget we have been so so lucky to have had what Alex. brought to the club if nothing this year fine it will b a transition season but like I say get behind the boys they would all die for the shirt well perhaps not Wayne
here's to a great season {Ed007's Note - Are you related to KLOOT by any chance? Welcome to the site buddy.}

1.) Also new poster - first went to OT in 1962 - and I was there every home match the season we got relegated & every match in the old 2nd division - what a season that was - visiting places like York City - great days - those days a trip to wembley was all we dreamt off (I try and forget the Southampton final) - and trips to Europe were very few - I did 3 - Ajax, Juventus & Ostend as a friendly (I never saw the match but that's a long and funny story) - anyway we do not have a right to win things every season & have been look to have had Sir A for so long - so get behind the team this season & especially David Moyes & show everyone what great supporters we are

2.) As a young fan myself, I get your point, since the worst years for me were the Arsenal invincibles followed by Chelsea, and that only lasted 3 years. Other than that, my time as a fan has been plain sailing.

3.) Big Jim Holtons after you

4.) Good post IMO.

Although I'm one of the new breed, having been a 'fan' since 91/92 and only really known success, I'm old enough and wise enough to know that we have no divine right to win things. Especially nowadays with all the money being thrown away by other, non self-sufficient clubs. To combat this we have to look to the long term, with a manager who will look to stick around, a continuity of staff and set up and bringing youth through when we can.

Let's all get behind the manager and the team whatever happens. Hopefully we can get 1 or 2 good purchases and put a real push on this season. But most important is that we are there or thereabouts for the foreseeable future on a regular basis. Consistency is key for us I think.

5.) Good post. Unfortunately, the 'youngsters' have only known success (that's not a criticism) so have not experienced the many years of no trophies / poor football (Sexton) some of us have. A lot of people will remember 1992 and losing out to Leeds but how about 1985 when we won our 1st 10 games under Big Ron. We won 13 of out 1st 15 games, but then only won 9 of the remaining 27. united never recover and that was the end for Atkinson.

On a similar point, I'm not sure the thrill of winning is quite what it was for me as the expectation is now so much higher. Rarely are we underdogs - beating Liverpool in finals and semi finals when they were ruling the roost was very sweet. Seeing Barcelona off with Maradona was incredible. Yet now I find myself less excited. It was great that we won the league last year but for me it was fairly flat. Perhaps it's just me

6.) Ajh
It's a really good point that, for me a lot of the excitement has gone out of the games when you just expect to win or even know it's no big deal if you loose as you will win the next one or 5
Jred

7.) Good post Big Jim I agree with all you say, I also travelled the coutry to watch the boys in the second division - York City away was memorable! I worked in Liverpool throughout the 80s and had to take merciless stick from the scousers but the level of success we had in the head to head matches with them made it all worthwhile.

So I agree, if it doesn't come together immediately with the new management team just stick with them and remember that SAF had a torrid time when he first arrived (who can forget Ralph Milne) and look what happened then.

You said it all with the worst squad since 03 what the hell do you expect him to do with it therein only 1 who could do anything with this squad and he retired who would we get if moyes resigned? not many managers out there people said about klopp but he is not exactly setting Germany on fire is he
some people are just so impatient people like you are alarms what would have happened if saf was sacked after half a season we would not be the club we are now
but perhaps that would have been a good thing as alarmist supporters who expect the good times year in year out would have supported other teams
for gods sake get off the managers and the teams back it does no go have faith in them a good clear out at the end of the season and next season will be back to normal have faith
