if any of the eds are about have we any interest in lukaku i think he would be a great signing worth aleast a bid of 45 mill plus.

Hollylanders

{Ed002's Note - Manchester United has shown no interest nor declared any interest in Lukaku at this time. If the club are to look to a centre forward at some point he may well be one option the club look to in the future - but for now, nothing.}

60 million + in the summer depending on the interested parties, Everton won't let him go until after the Euro this year, that because if for example he is the top scorer in the tournament he will add more value to his valuation

Everton know they will lose him eventually (I predict this summer) and I expect him to be the no1 striker to move this summer along with Benzema (To PSG), I won't be surprised if Madrid get him

PS this applies to Harry Kane too however it going to take around the Bale valuation to get him.

thanks for your quick response ed002 much appreciated.

3.) 04 Jan 2016 20:33:28
Are we still looking at Kane as a long term option?

{Ed002's Note - He won't be a consideration at this time.}

4.) 04 Jan 2016 22:18:41
Thank you ed.

With potential big money moves for Anderson and Mané, can you see Martial moving upfront permanently there by no high profile striker signing? Sorry to ask, hope you can answer that. It's a question I've been thinking about for a while.

{Ed002's Note - I am not so sure that Mane will be available just now. Martial gives an option of playing centrally Fresh but I am still far from convinced he is the finished article. I would not be surprised to see the club look to find a striker.}

5.) 04 Jan 2016 23:49:50
Interesting ed cheers. I think long term he will be through the middle. Perhaps for now it could work well with Martial left, Anderson right and Herrera behind Rooney for the remainder of the season. Then we can evaluate the striker that we need because at the moment; there doesn't seem to be much out there.

{Ed002's Note - I would not be so sure that the club would agree that there is not much out there Fresh.}

Thats value for money I mean. As you say, Cavani could be a dumb move, Gomez is possible but isn't exactly a world beater. Ibra will be very overpriced. Benzema is likely to be key to Zidane. Aubemeyang I guess is possible.

{Ed002's Note - Ibrahimovic won't be moving this month, the club has no interest in Aubameyang and whilst Real Madrid would bite the hand off any club wishing to take Benzema off their hands there is no club in the world who would be willing to do it in January.

Gomez may be more possible than you realise.}

7.) 05 Jan 2016 12:22:28
Interesting, as a long term solution though? I doubt he is of the class to lead the line for us indefinitely? Unless the plan is for a new number 10 or Anderson to play there with Rooney as the striker still.

{Ed002's Note - I suspect that all clubs would struggle to find a player to "lead the line for us indefinitely".}

8.) 05 Jan 2016 13:32:43
Well I mean for a season or two as the main striker? Rather than a rotation option.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what that means and I very much doubt any football club would understand either. If it is some sort of weird "tactics" related stuff you would best take it to the appropriate page.}

Hi if any of the Edds about I'm a long time reader but have never posted can u see us signing anyone1 in January after last night and the last few weeks u can see we need something extra and I think Utd should stick with LVG aleast till end of season and then get PEP in thanks in advance and keep up the great work.

Hollylanders

{Ed004's Note - I think the club will make efforts to purchase in January but it is a hard market to buy in so I wouldn't expect much. Currently I would stick with lvg and push for pep as well because I don't think the board want Mourinho and I can't see a better interim manager available}

1.) 29 Dec 2015 18:45:17
Thanks for quick response ed004 much appreciated hope for good 2016 and Pep in the summer.

2.) 29 Dec 2015 19:17:02
Who do you see us pushing for ed? Mané and Stones?

{Ed004's Note - I've no idea. Hopefully a winger as no top striker is available. Maybe Felippe Anderson? I'd also push for Laporte and try to work around the buy out clause}

3.) 29 Dec 2015 19:25:37
Felipe Anderson's price tag is a huge risk. I'd be looking at the two I mentioned and if not I'd look at Lucas as a back up for Mané - I'd wait for Stones till summer if need be and then go all out for James - I'd love a new striker, but then again, Martial could be one of the very best if he plays in his position.

{Ed004's Note - I think a lot of what we will do in the summer will depend on how Martial and Memphis mature. Currently I don't know what Martial's best position is (left wing or striker) so not sure if a striker will be needed. James is a fantastic player}

4.) 29 Dec 2015 19:40:58
I think Martial sees himself as a striker, he is a young Henry and needs to be learning upfront. He is good at taking chances. James in behind him, Mané and Memphis outwide hopefully.

{Ed001's Note - Henry was a winger until he was much older.....}

i totally agree fresh that would be a great foward line basti and morgan midfield laporte smalling shaw darmian defence degea in goal.

6.) 30 Dec 2015 07:50:35
If we don't have a top striker on our radar and keep LVG until summer then I fear for the club I love because we are screwed : ( LVG out!

7.) 30 Dec 2015 09:37:43
Hollylanders,

Unfortunately I don't think you will see De Gea and Shaw on the same team sheet any time soon.
