Anyone watched the Fabritzio Romano podcast today? They have said that it will take Sancho to put in a transfer request for this deal to be completed now. Dortmund want €120 million and ain't budging but United want him for €80 million with addons (not instalments) . He has 2yrs left on his contract And not 1yr, so Dortmund don't have to sell. United have to pay the €120 million for this deal to happen. United were hoping for C.V. discount but it is not going to happen. I would just pay the €120 million and get it sorted. What are everyone else's thoughts?

Pay and be done or move on. Either way, make a decision.

Not too bothered either way. All this stuff is just noise and we could do without it.
We don't do our business efficiently. Fairly used to that since gill left.

I would look to alternatives instead of overpaying. It looks like few people knows what's happening. Romano has also said utd i have total agreement with sancho and his camp regarding payment.

We've been told from day one that the overall price for Sancho is astounding. We should have walked away the minute we were told how much it would cost.

Considering we havnt made payments to our loan and we have no way of knowing what the future holds in terms of C.V. Spending this much money on a single player is reckless.

Some fans here will tell you the manager and players are fantastic. I would be ruthless and easily say 4/ 5 starting positions that could be improved upon. I don't think just Sancho arriving closes the gap too much on our rivals.

Mumbles,
I agree with a lot of that. Our 1st 11 is good but under that is fairly average.
Because the quality is not there i think ole has created a 'them and us' within his own squad. There should be 18 players capable of Atari n every week without the wheels coming off. But we are not close to that.
The unknowns around finances following/ during this C.V. is at the forefront in thinking of all good businesses.
We do have about 350m in cash in the bank i think so there is no immediate concern holding off debt payments depending on their terms will be a strategic decision in order to invest further on the team following wasting the best part of half a billion previously.
The club will only do what they can afford. If they can't afford 120m they won't pay it.
It appears that they are messing BD around. They have not submitted an offer they have shown no urgency to complete a deal.
Ive no idea what their tactics are but i'm sure they will look to other targets if they don't engage with BD.

They'll pay it in the end. Just like they did with Bruno and Maguire.

Right now, it's a game of who blinks first and I heard Matt Judges poker face is terrible.

I think Sancho looks quality and the thought of him in a team with our other front line is really exciting. However, better judge of players on here say that he is over priced, playing in a poor defensive league and there are better options out there and for the money we could improve other areas as well.
On that basis, I think we will walk away unles the price comes down.
Question is, if not Sancho then who is the best fit for the way OGS wants to play next year.

Lockhurst seems to think agent fee is a problem for Utd in one of his tweets yesterday.

{Ed002's Note - Surely not?}

papers and media outlets do the same every transfer window .
Interest in x, deal about done. Then it doesn't happen even tho they have reported for weeks its completed.
But they still need to get the clicks . So they ignore everything they have reported and just start again.
In the mean time fans lap it up?
The same media that was reporting the deal was done, giving a break down of thd actually numbers are now reporting there was never a bid .

And no one questions it, just continue feeding the clickbait.

I’m sure deal is done and marketing teams just want to keep it in the spotlight.

Mumbles and Ken, agree re our starting 11 being "good" but if we have a couple who have an average game we are really still struggling to win games. Utd teams of the past always had either quality back up players for most positions or grafters who stopped the opposition playing their game.
OGS has been manager whilst we have imo moved forward, getting rid of older and/ or underperforming players that don't match the profile going forward but there is still a good bit to do: mumbles agree with 4/ 5 needed but if we put all our eggs in the sancho basket we will not only need that number in jan, but next sumer etc etc as players get older. I reckon looking at other positions and players is the way instead of sancho.

Cooky, many united supporters can see that many cant.
We need 5 or 6 players capable of playing for the 1st 11 every week.
That leaves 18 players that can interchange without the wheels coming off we have 12, 13 at a stretch.
Jones smalling rojo possibly add bailly in defence are not capable of playing every week without our results hurting.
Mctom and fred likewise we need better quality.
Mata lingard james periera the same.
Lots of those guys can come in for a game or 2 but if they need to play over a sustained period we suffer.
People realising now the squad is a shambles they didn't want to see that for the previous manager or the one before that.
The quality in this club had been disguised by the brilliance of fergie.
