Who cares, he was a terrible manager. This guff is currently flooding socials. No need to share it here as well.

And what did he win.

He set the club back few years by having Maguire as captain.
Won nothing and bottled when mattered.

I do think he was limited but with what we all know now what was going on I think he did better than most would have. probably still be manager if he'd won the europa. or maybe not. Anyway, not sure looking back helps at all.

Lvg won a trophy
Jose won a trophy
Eth won a trophy

So I'm not sure he did better than most would have even in the circumstances.
Only manager to be here more than 1 season and not won a trophy since dave sexton.

The problem most fans have is that he scored the winner in the final

If he hadn’t scored that goal he wouldn’t be as fondly remembered

I’ve nothing against him but should never of been any where near the manager’s job.

I agree this post makes no sense now. I also think you surely can't judge a manager only by the trophies they have yet won otherwise we would be thinking LVG was a success.

He lost a pen shoot out on something like the 9th penalty - he came pretty close to winning a trophy. can't believe that is what everyone chats about when Ole is mentioned. These are real stats. Goals scored. We created chances. We finished 2nd and 3rd. But of course he was aparently the worst coach ever to coach in the epl.

It's about winning but nearly winning.

Blackpool don’t compare ole the player with ole the manager

Ole the player is a legend and his legacy won’t be tarnished from his stint as manager

But you do have to ask if we did get some of the players he wanted would we have pushed on under him.

Utd didn't win anything for 5 years til 1990.and oles footy was at least better to watch than the dross of lvg jose and ten hag. So he did OK tumbleweed.

100% agree Blackpool. But no surprise there. I'm so biased against him now that I've nothing good to say which is a little unfair but that's they way it is and I'm not afraid to admit that.
As a player he was much loved but although they are separate stages of his career and different jobs the liking and respect i had for him as a player was completely overshadowed by what I can only describe as the worst few seasons for me in last 50 years as a fan.

We are in more of a mess now than would have been because of the Solskjaer ethos embedded into the club and players. Didn’t he say, Winning is more of an ego thing or something similar? Then something about City, about us going places because they put a strong team out. People wonder why we have problems.
