Is Pep all that as a manager? I can't make my mind up? Look at Jose; he won things with average teams by beating the (admittedly) better opposition tactically. Is Pep better as he has won things with a good team he inherited? He will be tested now he doesn't have the Spain team! He has to show his tactical nous! I remember Jose saying you don't have to have the ball to beat Barca. It will be interesting to see how Pep does against the big teams. He is undoubtably a great manager who I personally like and would love at OT by the way.It will take time as will Moyes!
Pep has an advantage now in that he has the pick of the leagues best talent with little opposition! Winning the league would be expected in Germany? If united and Chelsea were the only 2 'big teams' and united could always take Chelsea's stars or vise versa, would that make winning the league a big achievement? Or does anyone think Pep went where Jose wouldn't (or if he did then he had the better team?)
i'm not saying its true but its certainly interesting! Maybe Pep wants to catch Jose up with winning titles in different leagues? Germany with BM would be an easy one?
Watching the game, there's no doubt Jose gets his players playing for him! I think he'll go out to win the league without attractive football. He's just bought the players to get the job done, no matter what!
What are anyone else's thoughts?

2.) Jose won when he hasn't had the best team. Nobody thought he would win the Champions League when managing Porto. Then he won with Inter and went through Barca to do it.
3.) I see your point Ruud! Choose the wrong words. I meant he overachieved with Porto and Inter. Admit your point about average teams. Just wondered if Pep could do that. Apologies for any misunderstanding of my point!

5.) Complete rubbish. That porto team had 7 starters in the portuguese national team. You guys need to look at some facts before you anoint him as jesus christ.
The inter Team has 3 players who at the time were considered the best at their position in the world.
Some of you guys are suffering from what I call the grass is greener on the other side.
Their spending is about to reach 80 million pounds and more by the time this window is closed and that is JM to a tee, can't do it without spending a kings ransom. What did he win at Real in 3 years may I ask and how do you think fergie or Wenger would have done with that team.
City are the team to beat and if spurs gel they are a handful, don't worry about the loud mouth Mourinho.
6.) I disagree shahram, Chelsea are very much the team to beat IMO.

I think a lot have misread my post and its probably my fault for bad writing! Take 'average' out And replace with 'alleged inferior' opposition?!
Not sure who's the best manager and that was my question. It's meant to start an intelligent debate and banter?
This is a tame example, judging by the responses! People have a point to make but remember how you write a post is not how it is read! Stop the angry responses and we may actually benefit from this site again!
Let's ember this isn't Moyes' team. We need a good shakeup. Roy Keane said after winning you need a shakeup to be successful again. A major one hasn't happened for years and complacency kicks in, as it did against City. Rooney spat his dummy out but look at his effort this season in trying to be the main man again. Granted he probably wants to leave but we need competition for the first 11 and we haven't really had 'true' competition for years! Especially in midfield!
Is there another team or is it his agent or spurs stirring things to get a better deal?! I just want us to sign someone significant! This week will be interesting!

If januzaj was playing in any other league at his age then we'd sign him - he is a first choice player for us. They don't come around often! He's in the starting 11 mostly and even more so now he's been thrown in!. Out of interest to fellow posters. What do you value him at? Obviously value is what a clubs willing to pay etc but ignore that as I'd like opinions? Also other fans - would you love to have him (honestly)

Agree with you all - Moyes is a good manager but maybe not for us. I think that he's been arrogant in getting rid of the coaching staff. I can see why but think it was naive! He wanted to stamp his mark but should have don't it with time. Don't broke what's not fixed! It's arrogance to say Evertons coaches are better than uniteds. They may work better with DM but in any job people learn from each other. It's how you handle that. Fergie said it about CQ.none if everyone's back room staff have been poached by top clubs but when world class players such as RVP praise a coach as the best I've worked with says something! Don't have pride to let him go. Have pride to work with him. You prove as a team. New people bring out the best in you when you least know it!
Now I thing Moyes knows a his failingS. He's been unlucky with injuries and things will improve. It's a transitional period. He needs to shake things up with world class signings. Real mardrid were similar and realised. They then splashed silly amounts of money to state their intent And say we are a top club in the world. We need to do that now as prices will be inflated after the WC and they need pre season. Show our intent. We have outstanding young players. Splash cash now or we'll not even be a Liverpool soon! Hard to admit but we'll cross paths if we don't sort it!

Ha ha! Great reply Oz! We can still comment! Granted he would have been another Viera every summer with regards to him leaving or not! he's a massive ego as well. Would love to still have him but it's in the past. No problem with anyone bringing him up in posts. The circumstances for leaving shouldn't dictate our fans mentioning him on a fans forum! After all, don't many mention Ronaldo?!

I think we need that big name signing to spark the squad into life. Look at RVP last year and Ozil this year for Arsenal. We need that every year. I mentioned in a previous post that Roy Keane mentioned we needed to shake the squad up every 3 years or so. I was criticised by some, however these comments were made when he was a player. Far too many players are comfortable. We need that fight for squad places and at least 2 world class players. We are in massive danger of going backwards whilst others move forward. We need to be ruthless in the transfer market and show out intent. It's World Cup season and we need to do deals early or in January. Admittedly not easy but we'll only look like muppets again if we have a transfer window farce again. After all people at the club are actually paid to be good at this sort if stuff! Rant over! :-)

Over the years I have been so frustrated with SAFs team selection for big games, however he obviously knew when to rotate if a player wasn't fresh or going to perform. Moyes will learn that very soon!
