What a great result for the boys today! The atmosphere was tremendous! got to say vidic is key to how we do this season hopefully he's ok and can stay fit all year! If he does we've got great chance of winning something. Giroud bullied the scousers last week and he never had a kick in the first half!

I just hope we can shift a few players out and get a couple in january and then it's onwards and upwards for the rest of the season!

20 times! 20 times! Are you listening!

Oh the shock and horror! We haven't signed anyone! Looks like the leprechaun's are still sat on their big pot of gold! Now let the sympathisers try and defend the indefensible! Like the old saying goes you reap what you sow! Any failures by them team this season lie firmly at there feet!
DEATH TO THE GLAZERS!

Not so much a rumour but a bit of interesting info I received today from a pal of mine.
Apparently ronaldo was nailed on to rejoin up until about 10 days ago! The reason for this is Rooney! Ronaldo can't stand him! United expected bids from a few European powerhouses for Rooney and there refusal to sell to Chelsea has put the block on it! {Ed007's Note - Is Syd your pal by any chance?}

Ralph beardsmore

1.) I think that's the biggest load of rubbish I have ever read.

2.) I am almost certain Ronaldo said he would only come back if Wayne was still there. They had a great friendship on the pitch.

3.) If CR7 was coming we'd have old Rooney to Chelsea!

4.) Fresh
I thought the exactly the same when he told me 5 weeks ago it was definatly happening! The funny thing is he's a scouser and he told me to lump as much money on at the bookies u could afford! He's lost £1500!
Pissed myself at him!

I can't really believe this obsession with who other people are buying! If we haven't bid for them it's because we're not interested! United will be in the mix at the end of the season regardless of who we do or don't buy. We all want the ronaldo's of this world but its just not going to happen for the next few years. I did think we might get someone in but I'm even starting to doubt that now! Fingers crossed moysie and dr evil get there fingers out in the next few days!

Ralph beardsmore

1.) I think the frustration is more complex than that!

Its about the perception that there is more effort being placed in to corporate partnerships and sponsorship than transfers.

Its about our players being linked to other clubs rather than us bringing players in.

Its about the belief that Fellaini and Baines, for various reasons, are not the ideal buys for their respective positions.

Its about the seeming reluctance to bid that extra £5m that could secure the services of a world-class game changer - such as Fabregas.

Its about ridiculous stories such as Ed Woodward flying home for urgent transfer business.

Its about Ryan Giggs still playing. Its about a lack of creative flair. Its about Tom Cleverley being out of his depth. Its about Kagawa being frozen out of games.

Its that players such as Rooney staying will be seen as a new (yawn) signing.

I could go on, but I'm boring myself now.

2.) Maybe our players are being linked with other clubs, Timbo, because they're better than you and many others on here, give them credit for.

Remember, we are the champions. It's up to other teams to try and catch us. If we were in Spurs, or Chelsea's, or City's position, then there would probably be more urgency in us trying to get some new faces in.

But we're not, so unless the players are top class, and most importantly, available and want to come here, then why should we buy just for the sake of it?

I'd rather it took two or three transfer windows, and got the right players in, rather than just bid for the likes of Eriksen or Lamela (no disrespect to Spurs, but why were no other proper big clubs in for these two, if they're so good?), or any other squad type player.

We have a very good squad - we need players who are going to be more than that.

3.) Stevie as saf would say being the champions means nothing that was last season its gone.it guarentees us nothing if anything not bringing in any
quality players we are weaker with players that are getting towards the end of there careers(rio, vidic, carrick, giggs)all a year older and closer to retirement

quality

4.) I'll give you Giggs, John, but the others are still strong, top-class players, and no weaker looking than last season - Rio, Vidic and Carrick were probably our three best players against Chelsea.

Our team is strong - my point was, that the onus is not on us to go out and buy lots of new faces, it's on the rest. And how long does it take all these new players to gel?

There's a lot to be said for continuity, and quiet evolution. We don't need wholesale changes, the way the others do to try and catch us.

One or two in the right position, and some of the youngsters getting game time, is enough IMO.

A question for everybody?
When was the last time we really competed in the transfer market!
Do you really think we could have bought RVP or KAGAWA if they hadn't been in the last year of there contract?
Personally I think not!
If we're willing to pay 20 mill plus for fellani, surely the money would be better spent on a younger Better skilled more mobile player like kondogbia!

Ralph beardsmore

1.) Ralph
How many times have you watched Kondogbia and this is not the flavor of the month at Baskin Robbins. He is a very raw big guy in the middle of the pitch but with great physical attributes.

2.) Last year RVP, one of the best strikers on the planet.

3.) I am not Fellaini's number one fan by any means but Kondogbia is nowhere near as good as him at the minute, maybe in 3 or 4 years time but we need instant improvement and that is what Marouane brings.

4.) It would be nice if if was us buying Bale, ronaldo and co. But I think we will not be in that league for a long time to come.
I have resigned myself that we will not compete with the top clubs in the transfer market in the foreseeable future.
Frankly speaking, even if we sign fellaini and baines, it won't exactly set the team alight.
If we're not going to buy the top talent, then we might as well let the youngsters play.

5.) 24 Aug 2013 21:23:39
I would have to say either Veron or RvN, they were the last world recognised stars who top teams from all around europe wanted and we fought off competiton for. Van Persie is a too world star but he only wanted to move to us.

6.) Thanks for the input guys! Seen kondogbia half a dozen times on tv and in the flesh at rio's testimonial!
All though he's far from the finished article he seems to have a bit more class then that big lump fellani! Shappy's right the last time we're really in the market for world class players at there peak and in contract was about 10 yrs ago!
Just before the parasites took over!

7.) I agree Shappy. In the couple of years after the treble, I remember the excitement of knowing we had as good a chance as any to sign the best in the world. Then something happened, something to do with money, owners or something. Now we seem to be acting like hard-hit pensioners, leaping on the cheapest produce just late at night just before Tescos closes.

AJH, couldn't agree more mate! The guys a legend. we've more than had our money's worth out of him! He's been flogged to death and if we'd had a little bit of serious competion for him we'd probably get another year or two out of him.

Agreed fredo! Can safely say I never have or will boo the shirts. The atmosphere was flat yesterday after Wednesday but the team need the fans more than ever! Regardless of whether we think moyes is the right man or how the players under perform its time for the fans to stand up and get behind the shirts.

We actually played well? What game were you at? We were played of the park! Ferdinand is finished, should never have got another contract. How many more chances are we going to give Anderson? The lad is just plain out of shape it's painful to watch him blowing out of his arse after 50mins. The thing that bothers me most is that rafeal isn't played, he brings so much to the team going forward it gives our attackers more space. Moyes is out of his depth plain and simple!

Didn't have a chance? How many did Liverpool have? Van persie had the best chance of the game in the last 5 mins!
The worrying thing is the fact that giggs is still picked on a weekly basis. No kagawa or zaha on the bench speaks volumes. I love giggs and all he's done for the club, but surely there has got to be a professional pride which tells you your not up to it anymore! Liverpool were far more up for it than us.
