Woodward coming back to sort out 33m
move for Fabregas -- get in u beauty

Believable17 Unbelievable23

Ha, I'm glad you left a name Bfro. Just so we all know who to laugh at!

Cheekyblue

Agree0 Disagree3

To be fair Cheekblue, there was a lot of posts like yours this time last year about RVP - I always hoped it would happen but not believing it would - I have the same feeling this time round.

We have put a bid in - so I suppose anything can happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Dream on you plum. tryvirwing fabregas interview who says not intereted. Barca manager saying not for sale and barca president saying not for sale. Add in arsenal have first refusal and 50% of sell on fee. Are barca gona sell to make a measly £15-£17mill?

Agree0 Disagree0

Putting an actual bid in shows we are already confident we have a chance to land him. We didn't even bid for Thiago, just talked wages and personal terms.

Friend un australia just messages me that whilst getting moyes autograph at training session he asked him if any news on any signings and he replied keep your eyes on the news as hoping to announce something major in next 48hrs. Few guys round gim in crowd who overheard starting quizzing him if ronaldo or fabregas which moyesjust laughed saying I wish. hopefully news over next few days. Kb88

Can somebody please tell me have barca rejected the bid united made for fabregas?

Believable22 Unbelievable2

Yes they have. but " not for sale " stuff hasn't reported anywhere

rodio17

Agree0 Disagree0

No he s signing tomorrow
Dan

Agree1 Disagree1

Simply Google it, I did and there is one, only one report that says its been rejected and that's from a website I don't even recognize so not at all credible its something like www.wemakeupcrap. com

Agree0 Disagree0

We will go back in for another bid no doubt. I think Vilanovas response was far from convincing, Fabregas could be sold if the right offer comes in IMO, just hope he would choose us.

Dan (not the Dan above)

Agree0 Disagree0

Barca spoke to fabregas and he wants to stay, other words not interested.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Barcelona rejected the bid, they would tell United, not the press.

And while United may have leaked news of the bid initially, clubs don't tend to be so keen on announcing rejection.

Barcelona are simply behaving in a dignified manner, and not going on about it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely if Barca have spoken to Cesc about us apparently budding and asked for his thoughts, shows that they are willing to let him go. Otherwise they'd rejecting the bid and said nothing

Melwing28

Agree0 Disagree1

Haha as if Fabregas would join united! You lot make me laugh

Agree0 Disagree1

Nothing funny about united signing former arsenal captains

Agree3 Disagree0

Fabregas would only come to the Emirates, he said so himself. Dream on if it makes you happy though.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Fabregas will be ours within this week.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah he'd go to the emirates, get injured come fourth in the league on goal difference and then get injured again. just like days of old.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha these gooners make me laugh out loud, they make it sound as if they can and have attracted top talent from around the world.

Agree0 Disagree0

Reading between the lines it does sound like Barca would sell for the right price.
They only said "Cesc says he wants to stay", not "he's not for sale".
Besides, if Barca do accept a bid, then that put Fabregas in a position to have to make a choice. Wenger said yesterday that they're not looking at him now. He might look what RVP did, going straight from Arsenal to United and think he could go Barca to United no problem. Link up with his old pal RVP.
Anythings possible in football, but my gut feeling is that Moyes will end up with Baines and Fellaini, that's all.
Which would be piss poor imo.

It seems the Chelsea Rooney bid may have got the ball rolling so to speak. Perhaps an indication that a higher bid is likely to be accepted, so to save face the club need to hurry along one or two of our signings. Perhaps to stop fan frenzy. Were the club waiting for a Rooney bid before we went for a big signing? If only the editor was able to help us out a little, cannot believe some goobers have ruined it for the rest of us.

Sydney!

Believable22 Unbelievable4

Hear Hear Sydney!

Agree2 Disagree0

I think you're right Syd, if we're going to sell Rooney I don't think we'll do so without either at least replacing him or completing 2-3 signings before.

Who do you think we could be in for?

Agree0 Disagree0

We clearly want Cesc mate, but I think if Rooney is sold to Chelsea then the club will pay over the odds for a player to help calm the MU fans' hearts ;)

Sydney!

Agree2 Disagree0

Totally agree Syd. Although I agree with the stance the Edds have taken this may be a good time to throw us a bone. Even let us know if you are privy to the info that is what league this proposed signing comes from. {Ed001's Note - as far as I am aware there is no Cesc signing, his nose was just out of joint by talk of Barca signing a replacement. United got wind of it and asked if Barca would be willing to let him go. Barca and Cesc sat down and talked it over, he was reassured the club wanted him and he told them he is desperate to stay and play for Barcelona. So Barca just told United that they are not willing to let him go. I don't know who else that is wanted, but, sorry to say as I know it will be a disappointment to most, Baines and Fellaini are the only two I 100% know that Moyes would like to bring in. Other than that, and obviously he would have taken Fabregas if he could, I have no idea who United are after.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Ed001, thanks I appreciate it. Good to hear from you.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Baines and Fellaini signed, we do need that much needed creative midfielder and left forward. Any ideas who could fit the bill for a creative midfielder? I imagine Gaitan or Di Maria could be the left forward, could Gundagon be the creative midfielder?

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd

I came back after a month just found out tht eds are gone.
How about Erickson? what's news on him?
I doubt Gundagon can be assigned creative midfielder role, in terms of creative Sahin is considered more creative than him at Dortmund.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed001 & Syd,

do you think that the club would announce Ed Woodward leaving Oz, to deal with 'major transfer business' which is said to be a player coming in, if it was to secure Baines and/or Fellaini?

I can't see that the club would be that naive as to let supporters know a signing is on the way and creating this hype for us to sign someone like that.

Not that they're necessarily bad players, it's just that the way the club have gone about it, it seems as though (although I hate to use the word) a 'marquee' signing is being negotiated

what do you reckon?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed001. Thank you for your input, much appreciated.

Agree2 Disagree0

17 Jul 2013 17:48:30
Rooney's going no where unless a bid of £30 mil plus comes in. United would prefer to sell him to a team abroad rather that one of their rivals. Also, expect one or two signings within the next week or so.

Ed, have we bid for Marquinhos? This is an odd move if we are in for Garay as well. {Ed029's Note - No bid.}

Believable4 Unbelievable11

Ed your wrong. we have bid for marquinos. 12 million

Agree0 Disagree1

Chief exec on his way home from Australia to conduct transfer business

Agree3 Disagree0

It's all over tv! {Ed002's Note - Posted elsewhere by Ed02 - Roma's Marquinhos has attracted the attention of PSG, Barcelona, Benfica, Dortmund, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United. There have been a number of offers including one from PSG of €30M. Barcelona and Manchester United have made offers as well. Chelsea are being encouraged to make an offer as well with the benefit of there being a player Chelsea has available that interests Roma. PSG are negotiating a further offer that meets the €35M criteria being requested by Roma.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Marquinhos would cost 30M+ euro and is only 19. Rather have Garay.

We have bid for none of them only 2 players we have ever bid for during this tranfer window was bains and fab as with the stock shares we have in new york we have to tell the world what we are doing before hand

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2013 10:40:50
Ed did we really reject Mata/Luiz plus £10 million for Rooney? I find it unlikely cause of firstly the fact the fail reported it and also due to the fact Mata/Luiz is supposedly valued by Chelsea at £35 million so £10 million extra is £45 million? Plus Mourinho said he doesn't want to lose either of Mata or Luiz and neither have asked to leave. I reckon that's been inflated to add hype and Chelsea's real offer was a cash one of about £20-23 million. {Ed029's Note - Ed02 said there was a cash bid only mate.}

Believable8 Unbelievable9

20m eds? {Ed029's Note - Ed02 won't want to say mate.}

Agree0 Disagree0

No player was added to transfer but the amount is less than what people are thinkin it is. Utd want 30+ for him so i'd suspect chelsea have tabled a bid of around 15 to 20m. though jose will make highter bid it just in his nature to try low bids first rather than break the bank no matter who the player is. Utd don't want to sell but have 2 or 3 players they want to sign if he leaves. I do like rooney like any u5d fan but I do see that chance he will be a chelsea player. Its also unlikey any spanish team will come in for rooney also

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2013 12:41:47
Apparently, Chelsea have had a bid of Juan Mata + 10 Million£ turned down for Wayne Rooney. I honestly think Rooney isn't injured, there is a misunderstanding between moyes and Rooney. Also, the comments made by Moyes were very bad that's why Rooney is reportedly angry and confused over his future at Man Utd.

Believable7 Unbelievable20

Ok you divs, if united was going to offload or buy they would need to inform the nyse before, so read the ft if you would like to know what would happen

Agree0 Disagree1

A listed company only has to inform the market of "significant" transactions after they have been agreed.

The definition of "significant" is generally left up to the company. Google, for example purchased an Israeli firm for over $1. 5 billion and didn't inform the market officially.

Regardless, any deal is only released to the market once it has been agreed and finalised. There is no obligation whatsoever to discuss ongoing or potential deals of any type.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi there maybe I;m the only one who can see why Rooney is angry, who else apart from RVP gets half way level with his ability. Instead of a money grabbing pre season tour perhaps sending Moyes on an intensive man management course would have been more useful. Think M U are try ing todrive him out

Agree1 Disagree1

I suppose your the only one that thinks he should start every game?
Rooney is a squad player, he earns to much for that.
There were players last season that made more of an impact than him in winning the title. De Gea, Ferdinand, Evra, Carrick, RVP.
We don't need Rooney what so ever, it'll be nice to see Chico and Kagawa get more playing time
Thank you for previous service Rooney, but you'll never be the main man at our club, move on

Melwing28

Agree0 Disagree2

You guys misunderstood moyes speech, he said he wants to make rooney and rvp play together, media is messing up everything.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2013 12:20:38
Some people need to get realistic. Mata and Lukaku? No chance. Mata/Luiz and £15 million+? No chance! Chelsea will bid cash only now or will use different squad players in the deal, people like Essien or Moses along with cash above £25 million. And a bid like that will be accepted.

Believable9 Unbelievable18

Mata is worth at least 30 million if not more and is much younger than Rooney.
So in theory Chelski would be paying 40 million for Rooney and I don't think he is worth 40 million.
I would take the deal straight away.

Simmo

Agree1 Disagree0

Why would we take essien or moses? no chance of us wanting either.
johndenton

Agree4 Disagree0

Mata is 25 so he's not that much younger than him, however i'd take mata all day long for rooney

Robbo

Agree2 Disagree0

You're right. It's a complete rubbish all of this.
I doubt Mata would like to come to United and his price is almost the same as Rooney, who thinks otherwise is mad.
Luiz, uhm, Mourinho wouldn't be that stupid to let this kid go.

So, no!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would Chelsea give us star players for a squad player of ours?

melwing28

Agree0 Disagree0

Utter utter rubbish, what do you mean some people? Chelsea will return with a bid of between £12 million and £15 million and still offer Mata or Luiz, that bid should be accepted with Mata the chosen player. Mata is worth less than Rooney with out doubt, and Chelsea know this. For goodness sake why are people like you so unrealistic.
Rant over.

Who would want luiz bad player and I don't think rafa would want to see him either.

Agree3 Disagree0

There will be no other players in this deal, just straight cash and the deal will be done. No doubt about it. Moyes and Rooney hate each other. So much for "There's no transfer budget, sign who you like". Once again we have to offload before we buy. Glazers are a joke. Get ready for a barren few years!. I'm not a pessimist just a realist!

Agree0 Disagree0

When have the Glaziers not backed the manager exactly? Are you wanting a £50m signing each year?
We bought a core of players to last us a few seasons, De Gea, Jones, Smalling. Chico. Then last year we bought the premier league player of the year and the German league player of the year.
What more do you want? Go support City, Madrid, PSG or even Monaco if you want money spent non stop with little return.

Melwing28

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2013 11:55:07
The bid is bs, a website are right we rejected an offer for Rooney from Chelsea but the fail said it was £10 million and a player 'rumoured to be Mata or Luiz'. Not confirmed to be either of them, for all be know it might have been Mikel.
£29 million up in cash will be the deal, Mata won't be joining and Rooney is going.

Believable14 Unbelievable7

If Torres was worth £50m surely Rooney is worth more than the fees being quoted? And what happened to the English premium? Just remind me how much did Chelsea pay for shevchenko? Around £30m. A fair price for Rooney would be £40m.

Agree3 Disagree1

Yes, when Torres left Liverpool he was off form and played really bad the last season didn't he.
In case you missed it Sarcasm alert.

Special K

Agree0 Disagree1

Those players are different.
Torres was having a bad season and yet still considered a threat.
Shevchenko on the other hand was at the time one of the most feared strikers in Europe, just like Crespo was when Chelsea purchased him.
Rooney hasn't been on form for a couple of years, is a squad player at our club. So he doesn't warrent a massive fee.
£25m is a fair deal

melwing28

Agree0 Disagree1

Melwing what do you mean hasn't been on form for a couple of years? Last two seasons 59 goals scored

Agree0 Disagree0

You guys are all forgetting his marketing value, but then again United seem to forget it every time they sell a star.
Beckham was too cheap, and even Ronaldo was way too cheap!

Rooney would sell massive amounts of blue shirts and other merchandise

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jul 2013 10:21:12
Chelsea have submitted a formal bid for Wayne Rooney. Manchester United rejected the bid. Being reported on sly sports news.

Believable22 Unbelievable1

Is it expected that Chelsea will return with an improved offer? possibly the £10m with both the players? Since both players now know they are surplus to requirements

Many thanks

My mate who is a former season ticket holder has lived in Australia for the past 10 years. He's currently in Sydney and met up with the squad. He's saying he was told Fabregas is a done deal. Can't see it myself as United's transfers usually drag out for weeks and the bid was only made on Monday.

Believable7 Unbelievable41

Dear God.

Agree2 Disagree0

If Barcalona don't want to sell Fabregas, why is it taking so long for them to refuse the offer.
Redchad

Agree1 Disagree0

He's pulling your leg mate. How would someone who just met up with the squad know about transfers

Agree0 Disagree0

Isnt every ex season ticket holder who has emigrated invited to meet up with the squad when they are in their locality on pre season to discuss potential transfers?

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe on football manager he has

melwing28

@Ozwald, "poorly thought through made up rumour" Who made you an expert, genius? It was from his FB status so I didn't make anything up. If you read my original post you'll see I stated I highly doubt the rumour. As he spent a day with the tour party he probably had some inside info about Woodward returning home to conclude a deal and heard Fabregas' name mentioned.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't you think it sounds like a load of BS redpaul? Even the way you or he phrased it that 'he was told' fabregas is a done deal. Just sounds ridiculous. Whether you or your mate said it, to me and a lot of others it sounds made up and a load of sh!t.

Alright lads,

Few things, my sister lives in Sydney, just off of
Skype with her.

She was in Starbucks in circular quay and overheard
Two men in united track suits chatting away.

She said she wasn't really paying attention as the
Kid was awake and moaning.

But they were there for over an hour. Firstly they
We're chatting about family etc then started chatting
About footy.

Long story short they were chatting about Ronaldos contract
And how Jesse Lingard has serious potential but will
Never be world class.

She said they were chatting about some guy Jesse
That stuck with her because my daughters name is Jessie

Then two younger blond guys came in, wearing similar
Manchester United track suits and they had a bit of joke
And the younger two left.

I am not saying we are getting Ronaldo far from it.

She could have heard his name and contracts and put 1&1 together
And came up with 10.

I personally don't think he will sign.

Nothing about anyone else but thought I'd share

Gaz

Believable14 Unbelievable60

Good story Gaz. I also have a United track suit.

Agree3 Disagree3

It's believable. why not? Jess Lingard is over with the squad, he is very good and will become a proffesional premier league player and Ronaldo is a strong topic of conversation. Doesn't actually tell us anything though, so why have so many people clicked the 'unbelievable' key then?

J - Stand

Agree4 Disagree1

It does my box in when people shoot others down or slag them off for posting a rumor. So much negativity!

Guess what it's a rumors site! I enjoy reading all posts regardless of whether they're plausible or not.

Good on you for sticking your neck out & leaving your name Gaz.

Agree3 Disagree1

How random

Agree0 Disagree2

Who's shooting him down? I'm all for rumours. Majority of them are unbelievable but I have never said any rumour on this site is rubbish. I enjoy all rumours good or bad.

Agree0 Disagree2

Thanks J Stand

as I said I don't think Ronaldo will be coming
Back.

There is not much of a rumour here just an overheard
Conversation from two coaches from what I can gather from her.

This is a not a believable unbelievable post, this happened and she said the reason she remembered names is she only knows a handful of past and present united players and Jesse because it reminded we of my daughter.

Just passing the info on.

They were quite adamant about Lingard saying he has all the ability in the world but will never realise it, don't know if he has attitude problems or not and honestly I haven't seen him play all that much to have an opinion on him.

Gaz

Agree4 Disagree0

The responses to this story are representative of our society a a whole. So much stored up negativity ready to be unleashed by the hyper-judgemental public! Anyways I predict Baines, Fellaini, a centreback and one more midfielder. No Cesc, no Bale, no Ronaldo. Plus Wayne will bugger off down to West London methinks so he will need replacing. Anyways, peace & love people - if you are getting emotionally affected by a football transfer rumour site (even one this good) you should re-assess your life! Can't wait for the new season, could be the most hotly contested in years.
SD

Agree0 Disagree0

Manchester united players and staff are never allowed to talk about transfers or club player in that way in public. It is in the contract at the club that they have to refute any transfer gossip or internal affiar at club unless told so by club officials. Utd are an extreamly sensitive club so I do doubt in any surcumstances that this is true what soever
