Anyone else heard rumours of United being considered for a Europa league place if other teams get kicked out of Europe due to FFP rulings?
{Ed004's Note - It's not going to happen}
1.) I would hope not.
2.) Not going to happen unless it's an EPL club. That said I imagine we have the highest coefficient of all of the teams who failed to qualify for Europe by some margin!
{Ed007's Note - You were right with the first part, if it was an EPL club another EPL club get the spot, if it was a Spanish team a Spanish team get the spot and so on...}
3.) Read it on an unofficial United site. The story has since changed to there being places available because Ukrainian teams face being booted out due to domestic troubles, & United & Valencia could go into the Europa league because of it. Not saying its true, just a rumour doing the rounds.
4.) Spain and England do have the highest member coefficients and so I suppose it's possible there's some truth to the rumour. Ukraine get 2 Champions League spots and 4 Europa. My guess would be the champions league spots would go to Spain and England and the 4 Europa to the four next highest ranked leagues (Germany, Italy, Portugal and France). That would put Everton into the Champions League and us into a Europa spot. I doubt there's any truth to this though.
5.) UEFA have now confirmed that Ukrainian teams will be allowed to compete. All the rumours started from a made up story run by a Spanish newspaper.
{Ed002's Note - This must make people more gullible than the Liverpool supporters if they believe this.}

German press are reporting Real Madrid are withdrawing their interest in Gundongan due to his persistent injury problems, & making Vidal their priority midfield signing.
We're being linked with Uruguayan defender Martin Caceres who can play at Centre back or left back.

Does anybody know if Rooney actually has just signed a new four & a half year deal, or are the tabloids spouting rubbish as usual?
1.) The sun is getting to the heads of the tabloid press sitting on the beach following Manchester United in Dubai .

It will all be confirmed Friday.

I know you don't like to discuss finances Eds, but surely 300 grand per week is press exaggeration?

Got to love the Dani Alves dig at City - I didn't even know Manchester had two teams!
1.) Brilliant. Wouldn't have been as funny if it hadn't have been said in all innocence :)
2.) Then he rubs salt into the wound by scoring as well!

Looks like it has all gone downhill for Ravel Morrison again. A few weeks ago West Ham were panicking that they might lose his amazing talent cheaply because of a 10 million release clause. Now they're looking to offload him to a Championship club on loan.
1.) You should read the piece on the guardian about the subject.
If it's true than I'm really sorry for the boy.
2.) 17 Feb 2014 00:11:25
Always thought that he was head and shoulders above the rest in terms of talent
I personally think it's a massive shame he couldn't secure that big move to a better club where he could flourish IMO because for me he can still fulfill his potential even now because he has all the attributes it takes to make it on the highest level and he's also got that work ethic he unfortunately didn't have under us if the stories I've heard about him when he was a boy etc. are true

Would Qeuiroz be open to a return for another stint as assistant Eds? I think his Iran contract runs out in the summer.
{Ed002's Note - I have no idea.}

Here's a worrying statistic. Moyes' win rate at Preston was 48% & at Everton 42%. In all competitions at United he has averaged 55%, making his tenure with us on average the most successful of his entire management career! :(
1.) :) posts like this make me smile. Nice one, mate.
2.) Glad to have made you smile Stevie. It seems you were right all along, he has improved since Everton ;)
3.) I knew it!
At least there's a bit of thought and originality gone into your post :)
A newspaper ran the story that we have an agreement in principal with the player Sydney, but we haven't agreed a price with Arsenal yet.
There have been a couple of media stories today saying Shaw would prefer a move to united because they are offering 100k a week wages, whereas Chelsea are very reluctant to go above 60 on a teenager.

I mentioned Nagatomo a couple of months back & GDS slaughtered me for it!
Back in the 70s. Loved United's history & attacking philosophy, plus I wanted to be different because at the time almost everybody seemed to be a Liverpool fan!
Then he rubs salt into the wound by scoring as well!
Carvalho is apparently a great admirer of Nani. If Moyes is as interested in him as has been reported, then it would be difficult to let Nani go.
He's got a couple of minor injuries so they've rested him for a couple of weeks.
Yes but the job offer could have been flipping burgers in Red Cafe for all we know! ;)
