Yarmolenko to Everton - does that free up Lukaku for a possible switch to United with Evans going the other way ?

Hope not!

2.) 20 Aug 2015 21:27:41
Wouldn't have thought so totally different positions

3.) 20 Aug 2015 21:30:13
He's a winger

4.) 20 Aug 2015 22:25:23
I remember reading something ages ago about us having an interest in Mirallis. I hope not, Yarmolenko is a very good player though.

5.) 20 Aug 2015 23:33:57
Beast surely that was under moysey?

Although didn't they fall out?

6.) 21 Aug 2015 09:44:42
How does signing a winger then free up a striker?

So be interesting to see what this last few weeks before Transfer deadine brings us. I have to beieve that Woodward will be under pressure to bring in at least one or two galacticos similar to last year with Falcao and De Maria.
Clearly, we are still lacking in key positions but perhaps most importantly in attack . It would not surprise me to see Berahino coming in with Evans going to West Brom in part ex. Then if we can't get Muller or Kane then a short term contract for Ibrahimovic may be in the offing.
Ourr transfer dealings in recent years have been questionable from the Moyes Spanish episode to the amount of money we have now lost on the ADM and Falcao deals, so hopefuly we can put some of that right over this next few weeks.

Busby I think what happens against Brugge will have an affect on which players we get.

2.) 18 Aug 2015 08:12:09
What's the Moyes Spanish episode?

I would like to see a stellar face come in but as long as its the right player like Bale for example and not just another flash in the pan take what we can get like ADM.

Spanish episode - Oh with the Bilbao and Herrera shenanigans. Don't worry Busby I get you what you mean!

Delighted for Ole today and here's hoping he keeps up this progress.

I think his man management & motivational skills are excellent and players will raise their game as a result . Personally, I think this is the area where Moyes will struggle as he tries to manage the egos within the dressing room at Old Trafford.

Interesting to read the earlier post on Rooney and the difference in him this season to last. I think there's a lot more to this situation to the point SAF clearly had enough of him whereas with Moyes it is almost the opposite. As the previous poster suggests one wonders has this has impacted on the other players at Old Trafford?

Personally I am tiring of hearing about Rooney's future and if he wants out then let's get it sorted sooner rather than later and invest the money & effort into having players who want to play for us and commit their futures in doing so. During the next 18 months I can see more than 10 players leaving the club, a huge rebuilding project by any teams standards but whether Moyes is the person to both bring in and then manage the players we need remains to be seen.

The Glazers management of our finances remains the biggest concern and as our form dips our ability to remain a force within the transfer market is questionable and think that the club has a very interesting 12 months ahead.

1.) Same here, can't stand Pardoe. The only thing that is maybe not in our favor, is teams like Spurs, Newcastle are out of all domestic competition now and can focus on the league. Same goes for liverpool. We are besieged by injuries and in all competitions and the vole of games we have coming is quite substantial, which will not help when you are trying to push up the league table.

I do hope we buy some players from in January even if some are not household names. In reality we have a squad of 17 to 18 players and not 25.

Moyes comments :

Firstly this is a squad that won the league last season so it's up to others to catch up on us.

However, without doubt the squad needs strengthening and I am convinced Moyes will do that in the next week and at the same time ship a few out. He did say there was a need to strengthen and he has known that for some time yet most people have focused on the more negative words.

He has already had bids rejected so that shows his determination to bring people in and that will happen.

1.) Good post Busby58,

We know wants to strengthen and we all know some of the players he has bid for. I think they are in negotiation with everton for sure, perhaps still with Barca for cesc, and my guess they are waiting on the fall out from Madrid to see if they can get ronaldo or one of modric, ozil.
The rooney issue has also derailed things as I suspect they thought at least one of the top european clubs would come in with a big offer. so that cash never materialised and now they face selling him to london. that can only happen if we get Mata in return. IMO

Let Rooney go if he doesn't want to stay. Not sure about Mata though as plays a similar role to Kagawa

Busby58

1.) Kagawa had talented little players like Mata at Dortmund and I believe this is why he was so good there. Here at United we have no such players other than him, only Rooney could get something better out of him.Mata would compliment Kagawa really well imo.I doubt Chelsea would let him go though.

2.) Yeah he does. but he does it better than kagawa.

3.) If we sign Mata then you'd hope Moyes would play 4 1 2 3 with Kagawa, Mata, powell, Lingard or Januzaj as the two.

It would involve a high energy pressing game to make up for less defensive players plus both full backs couldn't push up together.

Sound exciting to me!

Good post.
I think Ronaldo wants to be a mirror image of Beckham where his image is concerned hence his involvement with the bid.
He will have been well advised as to how to best utilize his final years at the top and where he needs to be to maximize his potential . Be interesting to see how much his image rights have generated at Madrid in comparison to United.
Share price - there has been really only ONE transfer that United have been pursuing and it is to bring Ronaldo back. It is what Fergie hinted at and probably the reason why share prices increased earlier. Complicated, yes but what United need to regain some financial stability
