With Luiz to PSG for such a high fee, will Marquinhos be seen as surplus? I can't see them spending that much on Luiz without intending to play him, unless they see a midfield role for him. Either way, what would people think about looking at Marquinhos?

JM94

1.) He probably will, hence why Barcelona are rumored to be after him. I don't think we have a shot at it, not that we need him anyway.

He's young, inexperienced, and would need time to adapt to the league. We do not have the opportunity to provide him with what's needed.

2.) Do you then think Barcelona's interest in Hummels may have subsequently waned slightly, clearing the path to some extent?

Lampard seems to have been released, would anyone offer him a year or two to put some leadership on the pitch and maybe help to develop one of the younger players that we seem to be linked with?

Rooney and RvP out for Swansea game. Rooney's gone away to undergo some hot-weather training with a fitness coach and his family. I don't know if there's anything to read between the lines there or not, but doesn't look great for the match either way.

JM94

1.) You need to believe.

2.) I have faith in the fact we can win, it's just having your two first choice forwards out isn't the ideal situation. I actually like seeing Welbeck up there, I feel he adds a lot of creative play around the box and him and Januzaj seem to be the only ones who play with any impetus nowadays.

3.) What it means is Rooney has gone on his holidays. Didn't he go on holiday at the same time last year? Is it one of his contract stipulations ;)

4.) I agree with us winning but we could not be further apart on Welbeck. I can't see him here in 2 or 3 years if he stays at current levels.

5.) I think RvP may have had an injury setback. Perhaps being rushed back too early?

6.) Lots of speculation about RVP's injuries being down to Moyes's tough training regime. Does anyone know whether there really is some truth in this? RVP was, of course, frequently injured when he was at Arsenal.

7.) It's no secret that RvP and one or two others at MU are not happy with Moyes' training regimes. Personally I think the older players are suffering because of it. Two years without an injury to RvP as he was allowed to train his own way with MU, Arsenal & Holland, as soon as the Dutch coach comes out and criticises Moyes' training methods, RvP hasn't played or he has playing with pain injections. Carrick never misses an EPL game last season as he was allowed to train his way. He has been suffering. Rooney has had numerous injuries. Moyes is old skool and thinks that players must be trained hard, but sports science have said that it's not always beneficial, especially to older players. Moyes needs to let certain players train their own way or they will be injured more often than they will play.

8.) Thanks Sydney, I guess the problem is that, given the age of lots of our players, most of the first team will be training alone!

Atletico have reportedly signed Sosa, potentially freeing up some room for movement?

{Ed004's Note - Hopefully}

I higlhy Doubt it. Over the years, they have looked deadly this seaosn. I don't see them selling a star name unless an austonishing offer comes.
Somewhere above 35 mill. don't think UTD would spend that money on a single player.
Koke, Costa, Turan, All would cost more than 35 mill

2.) They've been performing highly for the last few years now in which time they've had a large turnover in players losing Aguero, Forlan, DDG and Falcao. Yes, large fees have been demanded in a couple of these cases, but it's getting to the point of desperation at which the Glazers are going to have to loosen the purse strings and fund a big money move or face plummeting farther down the table.

3.) 35 million for Turan, you must be joking. 35 Million for Koke is also a joke and we would never pay that. I think it is just lazy journalism and eh numbers being bantered around are quite out of whack.

No One will pay that as he is not worth that. I think one of the ed02 said he was being shopped around last summer and no takers for a lot less than that. He also mentioned we have never been interested in the player and I don't blame us.

4.) The last part is about Turan.

Gundogan rumours circling around Twitter today, so probably a load of rubbish, though you can't help but hope. Has anyone heard of anything regarding him?

JM94

1.) I don't know anything about twitter, I find their limit on characters per tweet infuriating. lol.

2.) Haha

That's 2 posts under 3 lines today now Shappy. Careful or you'll harm your reputation ;)

3.) 21 Dec 2013 00:02:49
My doctor said I had to cut down on the number of lines i'm doing or my septum may fall out. Lol.

4.) Ha, shappy you legend! Made my day;)

Big Al, I'm aware of the fact that studemt loans vary dependent on whether you're in London or not, so I wondered whether it was worth considering areas where it is cheaper but the loan was still in the London jurisdiction

Don't knock us youngsters, Syd. My first United game was the 2003 4-0 victory against Liverpool and nothing pleased me more than seeing Sami Hyypia getting sent off. Would still tell anyone it was the best day of my life, United was just bred into my blood. Out of everyone I knew, I was the only AC Milan fan in the 2005 CL final, due to this ingraining of United pride and therefore rivalry towards Liverpool. Don't think just because we missed the 'pool glory years we don't have to survive with those waiting for their return! The rivalry remains potent within some of us!

When you can show the quality to score that goal against Barcelona, you can't be called overrated. He was quiet tonight, but so was Ronaldo, and in sub-par performances, to still get make the game winning goal is a sign of top players

I think it's the papers spinning off of the Kagawa comments and putting two and two together to make five
