Ed02 - any further info on Koke? Seems he would be a great signing considering his ability to play a pass, defensive ability, versatility. dubbed 'the new Xavi' his release clause is 12.5 million pounds, even with the (likely) additional tax levied, still seems a bargain.

Raskol {Ed002's Note - There is nothing new concerning Manchester United. Don't get wrapped up in release clauses - perhaps there will be another way he will leave?}

It is unlikely Pochettino would leave Spurs this summer, but next summer the situation may be different. Would you rather have mourinho now or have Lvg stay on another and get Pochettino next summer?

Raskol

Jose all day long. Born winner stepping back to Moyes if we entertain Pochetino 😆😆.

2.) 24 Apr 2016 17:17:47
If waiting until next summer meant sticking with LVG for another year I'd take JM in an instant. Even then I'm not sure I'd want MP over JM anyway.

3.) 24 Apr 2016 18:48:30
I think it's at a point now where we can't afford to wait if we fall any further behind then it could be years before we can make it back to the top.

4.) 24 Apr 2016 18:56:47
I can't believe that some are questioning mourinho's credentials. Fergie has never got the better of him. The guy has won trebles in two different countries. He took over Chelsea when they were utter crap and turned them into serial winners. He made Porto champions of Europe. He made inter Milan champions of Europe. He got the better of Pep at Real when Barcelona were the best team on the planet.
And yet, we have people on here seriously questioning whether he'll be a good fit at United. Do me a favour.
BTW, Chelsea at their best, won more points and scored more goals than any other team, so any argument he's defensive goes right out of the window.

5.) 24 Apr 2016 19:24:40
Schmid, I respect your view that you want Mourinho, but you should respect my view that I don't. I don't doubt his track record but ha behaviour became more and more erratic. Explain Chelsea's start to the season to me. explain why he has to be so divisive and confrontational. Explain why De Bruyne was allowed to leave. Explain why Chelsea sacked him twice. Peoe don't question his credentials, they question his approach, personality, character, call it what you will.

If he comes I will support him, doesn't mean I have to like it.

6.) 24 Apr 2016 19:42:14
AJH - De Bruyne left because at the time he wasn't good enough to be in the starting 11 and decided that rather than stay and fight for a place he would rather go elsewhere and play regularly.

Should the manager have weakened his team in order to placate a single player who didn't have the mental strength to fight for his place or was he right to instead put out a side capable of winning games? The same goes for Lukaku.

Chelsea have had 11 different manager changes in the past 12 years under Abromovich and so I don't think you can read too much into that. If anything I find it interesting that they had him back a second time.

I can certainly see why people do not want Jose but can't for the life of me see why they would prefer LVG or Giggs in his place. In Jose we'd be getting a winner - which is more than I can say for the other two.

7.) 24 Apr 2016 19:56:52
It's a Marmite situation. Love him or hate him he would do better than the last two clowns . Everywhere he has been the fans adore him (not too sure about Madrid ) . We all have to agree that when a top coach becomes available then our top club must look to appoint. Mourinho is that coach 😆😆.

8.) 24 Apr 2016 19:58:13
I doubt all that you doubt him AJH but I think he is exactly what we need at the moment. If we get top 4 and win the FA cup, he will be coming into a great situation.
I think to jump from 4th / 5th to first will be a huge ask and task, because Chelsea and pool will also becoming hard not to mention the 3 above us next season. We can't afford baby steps I think Jose has proven he can take giant leaps. There are areas he can improve but I'm willing to give him the chance to improve those areas and hope he has learnt from some of his previous mistakes.

I think he wants to change whether he can or not is still to be seen. Only time will tell. We need a winner, fergie was a winner when he came. conte is a winner, so is pep, so is klopp. we need to fight fire with fire and i think many of joses press battles will look better through red glasses when he is on our side. No more than fergies did and he was just as hateful to all other supporters as Jose was to us when wearing Chelsea blue.

9.) 24 Apr 2016 21:40:27
Ajh. I fully respect everyone's views. But like it or not, mourinho is a winner. Him and Pep are the best two managers out there. Simple as that.
Fabregas said recently that mourinho gave the Chelsea players too much respect and allowed them too much slack. And some were unprofessional and reacted the wrong way. That's his mistake and I'm sure he would have learned from it.
Re de bruyne, he was going nowhere at Chelsea but went to Germany and his career took off. Similar to chicarito. Fergie let pogba go. So all the top managers make mistakes.
The fact is that Mourinho will bring success and that's what this club craves.

Looks like clyne is heading to Liverpool for 12.5£, surely that would have been good business for us?

1.) 25 Jun 2015 12:48:39
I'd of loved that move to happen to be honest.

2.) 25 Jun 2015 13:02:05
Perhaps we have someone better lined up. Just a thought.

3.) 25 Jun 2015 13:40:11
For that money it may have been worth a shot, haven't seen huge amounts of his game time though. But, I think it was Ed001 a few weeks ago who was less than complimentary regarding him for various reasons, so may be a good thing we haven't gone for him.

Hi Eds, Any truth to the rumours linking pep Guardiola to united this summer?

Raskol

{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath.}

1.) 11 Dec 2014 10:54:17
Ed002 a question if you don't mind, if LVG does move on this summer who do you think the candidates would be to replace him?

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to get in to that at this time.}

It is worth noting that despite his persistently negative approach at Everton, save a few odd stretches, they never consistently kept clean sheets and always seemed to leak goals underscoring a general lack of consistency during his their. this is not disloyal, just reality - the club made a mistake, he is the wrong man for the job for the numerous reasons we can all plainly see. The sooner this mistake is acknowledged, the sooner we can move forward. Moyes out, SAF in to try and rescue a top four finish then target Martinez, klopp and laudrop (sp?) with Martinez being my preferred choice largely because of his style of play, focus on giving youth a chance, and shrewd dealings in the transfer market. he already has a better Cv than moyes!

nuh uh bobby is ours mate, feel free to take anyone else, you cannot always rely on our managers or players to save you

{Ed007's Note - You are starting to annoy me using different accounts. If it doesn't stop I will block you from all sites, I count that as 4 different ones now. Grow up.}

2.) It goes both ways, though I can't think of a manager going from Man U to EFC. I am sure if I googled it I could. don't get to attached, you will lose him at some point, if not us someone else, that's just football. take comfort in your chairman's ability to appoint quality managers (yes, this includes Moyes)

3.) And Everton last won the league when?

I am not lvg supporter, but he culled the squad so that he work have to rely on bringing in youth, that was his plan, he should get credit for it. Would rather have players that are not united quality on big wages, who are not first choice filling out the squad or young exciting players with potential?

Can we please stop saying things like 'the squad he left wasn't good enough' - that is utter BS. he took over a title winning squad, spent 65 million pounds and a wonder kid broke into the first team. We should be challenging for the title. We should expect no less.

That is what I have been thinking. 7th would be better than Thursday night football. if it becomes clear that 4th is gone, okay youth and the let the chips fall where they may.
