Herrera buyout clause is a reported 36 million euros, plus we would have to pay tax on that as well so it would work out around 48 million euros. Wow

Ross cope

1.) Isn't there a rule that you only pay the tax if it's hostile? If the club agree to sell for that price there is no tax payment. I think that was the case with Martinez to Munich.

2.) Sorry mate your wrong 36 mil is all in that's tax and vat

3.) It is basically down to the selling club they can make the buying club pay it if they want to, that is to my knowledge

4.) Just do some business and pay it. I would rather moyes just come out and say we don't need anybody if united have no intention of buying. Stop messing about offering less if you're serious. I really like this rumour site, as sometimes it makes me laugh and sometimes it gets me buzzing, because normally you expect a couple of the rumours to come off. not looking that way at the minute

5.) He's not worth 20m euros let alone 30.

6.) Prodigal7 who is worth the money these days? Is bale worth over 80 mil? No he's not. In terms of how the market is at the moment, Herrera would be worth every penny if we met his clause. I take it you have seen a lot of him? Do you remember his contribution to totally demolishing us in the Europa league?

7.) Let's face it, United aren't known for their last minute wheeler dealing (Berbatov apart). We will not be signing anybody anybody can offer monkey money for top players when they know full well it won't be accepted! I'm just waiting for the famous 'Glazer' phrase, "no value in the market". Funny how all the other top clubs have had no trouble signing players. let's hope Carrick doesn't get injured.
By the way does anybody else find the whole sir Alex and Gill leaving in the same summer a bit fishy? Maybe they were pushing too hard for the Glazers to dip into their huge personal profits? Just a theory!

8.) What's this lad like anyways. At least we have some good kids that might break through if the club don't sign anyone.

9.) United aren't known for late deals under Fergie. Moyes might want to do things differently.

10.) I believe Son of Sir Matt and Pardoe are correct - the tax issues apparently only apply if the selling club are against the move, making it 'hostile'. We don't know Bilbao's stance for sure but the reports are that they would be happy to sell at the clause value.

The problem here I see is that he is not worth £36m Euro's but right now we're pretty desperate for a good CM. I'm almost inclined to say pay it up, but there is a chance he could flop and if he does it would be a big flop.

Still, who am I kidding? If we sign any CM for any fee I'll be doing cartwheels whoever it is, lol.

11.) Don't get all the negative comments about this player I'm pretty sure Barcelona have shown interest in him if cesc did leave! You Spanish playmaker with Fellani great signings

12.) Totally agree honey badger. He's potentially awesome from what I've seen but he could be another Kleberson, Anderson, Djemba Djemba etc. Interests dates back to when they dismantled us a fee years back, there's also interest from Barcelona & they very rarely get it wrong, especially in midfield. I say pay the money. Marca reports they won't add VAT because they have plans for the money. Let's test it. Does this mean the Fellaini chase is over?

13.) Eriksen has signed for Spurs and will go on loan to Utd for the season, to get experience as he won't get enough playing time at Spurs.

14.) Don't see him flopping, he's a younger fabregas, not quite as flashy/creative, but I think he looks more intelligent in his positioning defensively.

He may never be as good as Fabregas, but he's not to far off, and still young enough to improve. He will los hhelp get the best out of Kagawa and RVP.

15.) I have to be fully agree with statezz.
they are also my thoughts.

16.) Would definitly rather have him than fellaini

Alexander Büttner has agreed personal terms with Besiktas & is set to join the Turkish side on a season-long loan via twitter does this mean baines.

Also I hope Wayne Rooney signs a new contract

Ross cope

1.) Hopefully. Money could be better spent elsewhere, but Baines would be a HUGE improvement to our team both defensively and in terms of creating chances.

Man Utd's worst start and Liverpool's best start = 2 Points Difference.

Ross cope

1.) We win against Villa next week + you lose against Chelsea = 8 pts between us

So in 2010 we was never after ozil and turn him down this summer according to to SAF book, also saying Roy keane leaving was the best ever thing he did.

Ross cope

1.) Might be the best thing Fergie did but we still have not replaced Keane on the field best leader/skipper we ever had, not a fan of Keane any more but as a footballer he was top class

Zaha plays 100 games plus 2 England caps before he's 21. 2 months at United and he goes back 3 years to reserve football

Ross cope

1.) Dm said we've not had a look at him yet? very strange

2.) I have wrote before I have no idea what Moyes is doing with the lad. If he's not going to play him then loan him out. He scored the winning goal at Wembley in front of 80k people and now he's playing for reserves. Why didn't he loan him back to Palace and he could have got valuable experience? He saw the lad train everyday during the summer tour so he can have no excuses, play him or loan him. Its things like this that make me think Moyes is in over is head.

Copy and paste
I think it's clear to everybody that the blame for this transfer debacle lies squarely with Woodward. He obviously has no idea how football transfers work. Could it maybe be time ton appoint a Director of Football? Someone approved by Moyes, to act as a link between the money and the club. Not someone to dictate who we buy or who plays, but to act upon the demands of the manager and head up the scouting network, who knows football, knows business and can command respect through his previous experience, whether that be in football or business. Then Woodward can carry on his excellent work ensuring every tyre on every car belonging to each of the playing squad has a separate sponsor, and Moyes can have the players he wants at his disposal!

Ross cope

1.) As long as its not Joe kinnear
