Any truth that we are in for draxler?

{Ed002's Note - Draxler was offered to two sides by his agent without the permission of PSG who are not looking to sell him.}

1.) 20 Aug 2017 13:44:49
Not United related but if any of the eds are around, do you have any idea if PSG are looking to offload any players to get in line with FFP?
There was news that they were looking to bring Fabinho and Mbappe.

{Ed002's Note - Yes, there are plenty available.}

Anyone else think young was good tonight.

{Ed004's Note - Very good}

1.) 12 Sep 2017 21:44:12
Very good. Fellani motm for me. matic very calm great player.

2.) 12 Sep 2017 22:48:42
Really good.

3.) 12 Sep 2017 22:59:55
I must say it was nice to see a full back taking his man on and putting a cross in instead of going back or to the side. Big fan of valencia but hope he was watching tonight.

4.) 13 Sep 2017 01:24:23
Unfortunately, old dogs can't learn new tricks.

5.) 13 Sep 2017 01:06:30
Leahy totally agree about Fellaini. He played very well. We just have to temper things by remembering it was against a poor team. Looking forward it will be much much harder against the top teams. Be interesting to see how he plays against Everton on Sunday if selected.

6.) 13 Sep 2017 04:06:50
I think Mata was excellent too.

7.) 13 Sep 2017 09:32:01
Young was excellent last night. Finally someone who can cross the ball and what a difference it made.

I hope Jose keeps him in the team for the weekend and leaves Valencia at the training ground to practice his crossing. I don't understand the high regard for Valencia ("best RB in the league etc") . I think he's a limited player with a decent engine; nothing more.

05 Sep 2017 22:27:29
Well leahy what ya think of that tonight? Better performance but same story.

1.) 05 Sep 2017 23:47:51
Good performance but when ireland go behind a goal it's hard to see them getting anything out of a game.
Have to win the next 2 games.

2.) 06 Sep 2017 09:31:54
Well Wales v Ireland is important next lads. Wales winning games which is important from my point of view. What's the play off situ eds, is it all second place teams?

3.) 06 Sep 2017 11:47:47
WRD, not all second place teams get through to the play offs.

As there's 9 groups, the second place team with the worst record do not qualify for a play off spot. It's close, and there's still games to go, but as it stands it would be either Wales or Bosnia that would suffer.

4.) 06 Sep 2017 12:01:42
Nope, I think it's the best 8 2nd placed teams.

5.) 06 Sep 2017 12:47:11
Eight of the nine group runners up qualify with the team with the lowest points in second place not qualifying . However points won against the sixth place team in a group will not count in the final calculation, in Wales and Ireland's case that would be Moldova.

6.) 06 Sep 2017 13:47:47
dont worry leahy, we always find a way, anything is possible with the blessed saint martin in charge.

7.) 06 Sep 2017 14:16:23
There are countless possible permutations but the most likely is Ireland must win both remaining games and hope Bosnia don't beat Belgium .
Wales could make it with 4 points providing Bosnia take no points from Belgium .
Currently the group has the ninth placed best runner up which would not get either into the playoffs and Belgium beating Bosnia in another group greatly eases either teams chances. Other teams could be dragged into it but that is the most likely scenario as it stands. nearly all second placed teams have taken maximum points from the sixth place team in each group and these points are discounted at the final count . One other scenario which would help Wales but not Ireland is Moldova getting ahead of Georgia though that's unlikely . Clear as mud.

8.) 06 Sep 2017 14:22:17
So pointless playing Moldova at all then, why don't they just leave it as team with least points, meddling around. So it's come to this, us needing to beat each other.

9.) 06 Sep 2017 14:37:56
I think the idea was some bad teams are way worse than other bad teams, at the start it was maybe better for Ireland and Wales for results against sixth placed teams not to count as Moldova aren't great but there better than Gibraltar or San Marino . Wales still needed those points as they still count in deciding how the group finishes it's just when the countback to see who were the ninth ranked runner up comes into play that they are deducted . Bosnia will lose there points to against gibraltar. Again only in the count back though all points count in how the group ends and are only lost later.

10.) 06 Sep 2017 15:11:05
I think the over complicated format highlights the need for the six lowest ranked teams to play off and the winners entering qualifying then we would have 8 groups not 9 and a simple winner goes through, runners up play off scenario and and end to complete mis match fixtures.

I can't understand why we hadn't gone all out for Sanchez from the second the window opened. Think we might regret not getting him.

1.) 29 Aug 2017 18:25:44
Tbh with his attitude I would stay well clear. Yeah he may be a top player

But he's a disease in the dressing room.

2.) 29 Aug 2017 19:16:13
What attitude bolger, can't say he has bad attitude for having had enough of a manager and a team who have embraced mediocrity.

3.) 29 Aug 2017 19:25:17
What attitude? Disease in the dressing room?

In all his footballing career, I have never heard that or seen that written about him.

All I see is a top class footballer week in, week out who gives 100% in each game. We would be lucky to have him.

4.) 29 Aug 2017 19:54:32
When you see what a difference he will make for City there will not be any comments about the dressing room. Sanchez wants to win, has the talent to make it happen and is a game changer.

5.) 29 Aug 2017 20:13:28
He is the difference between us and city for who wins the league imo if he goes there it's bad news for the rest of us.

6.) 29 Aug 2017 20:42:57
I wonder if Sanchez's agent is just using United to flush out even more money and wages from City?

7.) 29 Aug 2017 22:08:32
Sanchez is a top top player and gives 100% every game. He got forced out of Barcelona for falling out with Messi and who can blame him for wanting to leave Arsenal?

8.) 29 Aug 2017 21:11:45
Wouldn't be the 1st time we've been exploited Rosa.

I think with these kind of deals the need time to get over the line and the whisper mill would be in overdrive now if we were going to get involved and it's all very quiet unfortunately.

I get the impression were done in this window which isn't the end of the world but I will be disappointed if city get arguably the best player in the league.

9.) 29 Aug 2017 22:21:41
Sanchez will go to City and be amazing. I'd be over the moon if he did a Dimitar and fooled all of the media on deadline day but can't see it. I don't get all the hate on his "attitude"?

10.) 29 Aug 2017 22:21:59
I should add that the next few days could define this season. If the United board sit on their hands counting the money instead of investing in a top No7 then they will not have supported the manager. Add the No7 we need a Sanchez, Bale level and it makes us competitive, really competitive.

Failure to invest would sound like Glazernomics at a time where City are showing aggressive ambition. We will know in a couple of days but it is time they showed serious intent if the board want to be top.

11.) 30 Aug 2017 00:08:33
Truth of the matter though is that the Board and Woodieaybectryi G their hardest to get deals done but they can't just sign who Jose wants its a very competitive transfer market.

28 Aug 2017 08:54:23
Any truth in bale rumours going around this morning?

1.) 28 Aug 2017 09:39:48
Yh done deal apparently, should be at the cliff training ground tomorrow for the announcement.

2.) 28 Aug 2017 10:38:45
Hopefully not.

3.) 28 Aug 2017 12:45:02
Id rather have lemar or draxler.

26 Aug 2017 22:00:28
Jones was quality again today.

1.) 26 Aug 2017 23:50:02
Great start to the season for Jones. Looks very composed and confident so far. Hope he's over his injuries because he's forming a good partnership would Bailly. Our attack has been getting most of the attention and although it's much improved our back line has impressed as well. Really happy with our form so far.

2.) 26 Aug 2017 23:52:33
I thought Jones deserved man of the match. Very solid today.

3.) 27 Aug 2017 01:44:44
Jones was good when fit last season him and bailly look a good pair.

4.) 27 Aug 2017 09:45:52
Said it a few times. Jones is a very Jose Mourinho type defender almost in the John Terry mould. IF he stays fit, he's a very good player which is there for us all to see. Sir Alex said so too.

Wonder if we will see any more departures between now and deadline day. Maybe Smalling?

5.) 27 Aug 2017 09:53:35
It's hard to remember Jones having too many bad games for years. Trouble as everyone knows is that he will do something silly or pull up with a hamstring strain and be out until Xmas anytime soon. He seems to have recovered his confidence on the ball, great to see Bailly and Jones being comfortable and pushing into space rather than CB's just passing 2 yard balls to Carrick like last season. Those two would be horrible to play against as well. Hardly any hoofs as well which is nice.

I really hope he has a good run of games without injury, massive asset now he has gained his sharpness and confidence.

6.) 27 Aug 2017 10:07:56
I don't think Jose will sell anymore players unless they push for it. After all the defensive injuries last season I'm sure Jose will won't to keep the likes if smalling and Toni about as long as they are happy to be squad players and not upset the dressing room they will stay.

Absolutely shocking, not one player even touches the last team to qualify for a world cup in 2002.
