Rhumors circulating in Portugal around United hijacking the gyokorez deal and are close to an agreement with sporting.

Is this a tactic to push Arsenal to move or is there any legs in this? Be nice if there was.

Arsenal and Sporting have been at a standstill for a while. Probably an attempt to stir up some competition and get them to up their offer.

Even if it is genuine, Gyokores wants Arsenal. We should stay clear of signing players who don't want to come here.

I’m not sure on this guy at all.
But his energy is Cavani like and anyone who plays like Edison would be an asset to the current team.

That said this is plainly a hurry up tactic from Sporting to Arsenal. I’d be shocked if anything happens here.

I'm almost certain that this is a tactic from Sporting to push Arsenal to agree to their terms on the deal.

Apparently the overall fee is agreed, but they are wrangling over the structure of the deal. If that is the case and neither side are prepared to budge then it makes sense that a story like this is leaked to try and pressure Arsenal.

I'd expect the deal between Sporting and Arsenal to be all wrapped up by Wednesday now at the latest.

I'd like to think its true but I don't. Not one word from united that we were ever looking to sign him as far as I know. I was hoping we would after my 1st choice of oshimen was clearly not happening.
But he has arsenal as his 1st choice and they want him so its only a matter of time in all probability. I don't think the arsenal director of football is incompetent and they have been in touch with him and sporting longer than us and Brentford were.
I wonder if we were even in fit him or did he pin his colours to the mast early on?
I suspect he was 1st choice delap 2nd who else is on the list that's attainable? I've no idea. Really looking forward to seeing who we end up with or if we buy at all.

Gyokeres is a little too old to be shelling out that sort of money on. If it all goes pear-shaped, his value will plummet. I would prefer for the club to go for Sesko.

I think he would've been a fantastic signing for us. But he's said he wants Arsenal and that is the line. We shouldn't even be entertaining the idea of signing him now. Let's carry on with the theme of the last three signings please, that being players that want US over other clubs, it must be a prerequisite for United signings.

Jodler every player who comes to us and leaves value plummets, but come on it’s ridiculous saying he is too old, in that case we only ever end up with players like Rasmus, potential that don’t fill all the promise.

We need experience players too, I would not be surprised if Watkins and Mateta outscore Gyokores this coming season anyway

There not been one word RA even wanted him, only press talk, maybe RA thinks after seeing him close hand he won’t cut it in the EPL.

We've tried players with potential, and it hasn't gone well. We have been crying out for a top notch goalscorer for some years (as have Arsenal), so if we do sign a CF, he needs to be proven.

Yeah its a tough one ajh.
There are lads playing abroad but we know that does not necessarily transfer to the epl its like playing a different sport.
Available epl proven strikers are few and far between and usually overpriced.
Watkins at 50 to 60m will be 30 next season so does not represent good value the lad at Palace matetta looks decent last couple of seasons.
The lad from Bournemouth signed a new deal so its hard to get one the right profile that ticks a number of boxes.
There is risk involved with any signing and no guarantees with the vast majority.

It's why I'm not sold on Sesko Ken. I would take Gyokeres because of the RA link, but there's no guarantees.

I would not go for Sesko, it would be just another potential buy, we need an experienced epl proven striker, with pace…not a young kid who done nothing, we got that with Rasmus….

Ive only seen 20 mins of sesko play for his national team. So know nothing of him. I wonder how many of the 60 voters on the poll have ever seen him play extensively.
He is highly rated by many but never got his move.
You can only hope it works out if its him we choose. Vivell knows him well so that might help.
