can I just say, united fans don't expect zaha to start every game next season and be amazing, he's been hyped up a lot but he isn't ronaldo yet, he'll be good too bring on for last 30 minutes but he's not better than valencia or young yet, he has large potential

scout

1.) Well thanks for that sir Alex

2.) I think the majority of us know that. Zaha is still raw but has a lot of promise. I do expect him to be given a fair few games next season - he's more developed than Powell was arriving - but I agree he'll be behind the likes of Valencia in the pecking order.

3.) Its just the way people are saying get nani and young out cause we've got zaha now, I don't think he's no where near as good as a topform nani yet

4.) Get nani and young out cause they're useless. Nothing to do with how good or bad zaha is. They are both useless, so just get rid of them.
Nomidfield

5.) Please never call nani and young useless again, they are very good players but being compared to ronaldo and bale there obviouslys not that standard, were not all playing fifa

6.) No-name, Nomidfield is correct.

Nani and Young shouldn't be playing for Manchester United.

They have nothing to give to the team and I will single out Young here but he was one of our bad buys IMO.

Hopefully Valencia will regain his form next season as we saw from the Villa game he started to look decent. I would also like to see Zaha thrown into the deep end for a few games just to test the waters with him.

Looks like he will be a real talent in the coming seasons.

-JakeW

7.) Agree with noname TBH 'useless' is a poor choice of phrase. Both have contributed in years gone by so by defenition cannot be 'useless'. If we can sign a top winger then Young will be a tidy squad player, Nani is surely off.

8.) Young and nani might well do a job for another team, but loom around you. All the top teams have at least one quality winger, some even have two. Can you honestly tell me that young and nani are the quality we want at United?
The remark about FIFA is so pathetic, every time one of us says something less than perfect about one of our players, we have the FIFA remark.
Well let me tell you, when I started watching football, they were earning two shillings, now they're earning £200,000 a week. So it is all like FIFA I'm afraid.
All we're trying to say is that a top club like united should have a top class winger. Nani and young certainly don't fall in that category.
Nomidfield

9.) So what top teams have a quality winger then because chelsea, man city, barcelona don't really have any decent wingers there all attacking midfielders

10.) Chelsea have Hazard and Mata.

City have Silva and Nasri. They do play on the wings occasionally.

Barcelona don't play with wingers. But the closest is Sanchez, Villa, Messi and Pedro.

Madrid have Ronaldo, Ozil, Di Maria.

We need better wide players.

Someone like Rodriguez or Bale would be perfect but unlikely.

What scenario sounds better to you

1. Bale and lewandowski but Rooney out
2. Ronaldo 65million but vidic and Rooney out
3. Bale in
4. Strootman in
5. Garay in
6. Falcoa in Rooney and Hernandez out

Which one would you like best? And fyi I'm not actually a scout but watch a load of football :)

scout

1.) I always see these types of things pointless - Football Manager or Fifa fever etc but it's kinda fun.

If we say United have a usual transfer Kitty of 50m? (for craic sake) - Rooney - 30m, Nani 15-20m? Anderson 10m + some deadwood - bebe, macheda etc

Lets say 100m for a new striker, Winger and CM?

Falcao - 40m?
Bale - 50m? (abit steep if i'm honest but we know levy)
Strootman or Wanyama -10m? (not sure what value strootman is at to be honest)

Would you guys but happy with this?

2.) Bale in.

We'd improve the first team and have a bigger squad.

JK92

3.) 2. But I don't see why Vidic has to leave for Ronaldo to come in lol. Bale and Ronaldo will cost roughly the same with Ronnie's wages being a big higher.

4.) Its reported that bale has a release clause of around 40 mill if tottenham don't get champions league. so he'll be much cheaper, younger and also his wages will be MUCH cheaper than ronaldos, your talking 110k to 250k {Ed002's Note - Nope.}

5.) Nope to the release clause ed? {Ed002's Note - It is all BS.}

still entirely believe that the main area of the team which needs strengthening is a partner for michael carrick.

my own preferences:

1. marchisio (unrealistic) fee:25-32 mill
2. strootman (likely) fee:12-18 mill
3. mccarthy (likely) fee: 10-15mill

the other area which has also cost united problems in recent games is creativity from the wide areas and also I will give 3 preferences for that area.

1. bale (unrealistic) fee:35-60 mill
2. di maria (unrealistic) fee:18-30 mill
3. james rodriguez (unrealstic) fee:30-40 mill

regarding di maria if united wanted him I believe a deal could be struck. then going onto james rodriguez without watching him enough I think he's completely overpriced and unproven. I didn't include cristiano because he really is very unrealistic and I don't think SAF will ever spend over 55 mill on a player

i will do a preference of every position in manchester united upon request once a week so comment for next positions :)

scout

1.) Don't bother, that was a load of rubbish! Why is bale unrealistic, and why is the price between 35 and 60 million? Surely if you are in the know, then you should be more accurate than that!

2.) And anyone cares for hearing your opinion why?

3.) We are ok thanks, got a premier league to be winning.

4.) Thanks for the update Scout, I look forward to reading your next load of tosh.

5.) Cheers for telling us who is unrealistic to buy. I forgot!

-JakeW

6.) Bale isn't interested in joining united! Wants another year at spurs and then madrid

7.) Ridiculous.

IDM

8.) May I just mention that bale is definately unrealistic due to interest from real madrid and plus the fee involved. so to say bale is not unrealistic is hidious - scout

i am commenting without much current scouting knowledge of falcoa but I do believe an apparent 55 million fee for a 27 year old striker is absolutely ridiculous. he's had one or two good seasons which doesn't justify that sort of money. united against city clearly lacked creativity in the wide areas so a fee of 55 million for bale would be much more value and he still scores goals even though still I think it is expensive. plus there is other good strikers available like lewandowski who is much younger and suits the premier league much more due to his good height and plus his wages/transfer fee would be significantly cheaper so another move for marchisio or a good centre midfielder to partner carrick could be funded

scout

1.) £15m Lewy is destined for Bayern. Gutting.

2.) Patzi: both bayern and united are in the race, and even though newspaper reports suggest there already a deal struck from bayern for lewandowski so do reports suggest united have also, highly doubt that borussia would accept 15 million of bayern in favour of united

3.) I just read through several reports about the idea of levandovski going to Bayern. All of them say this is pure speculation. furthermore Dortmunds manager Zorc said there has never been a transfer from BvB to Bayern, the only one ever was Hummels going the other way. He said in the interview that Lev. should go abroad with both Manchester clubs looking at him, stating that he's done all he can in Germany. He also said he would offer Gotze an ' old age pensioners' contract if he could, and keep him at the club till he's 35. but said Gotzes agent was being very careful about planning Marios future.
Jomo.

4.) If we have a spare £55 million going then I believe we should head straight for Dortmund and get Goetze and Reus, 2 of the best young players in Europe. Link them up with Kagawa and put them behind Van Persie, with Carrick and Strootman sitting in front of the back 4. Jobs a good 'un.

Away for a while, good to be back.

An Dun Red Devil

5.) 14 Apr 2013 07:41:50
Falcao is taylor made for the prenmier league. He is one of the physically powerful players in the world and atm, the best header of the ball in Europe. He might not be the tallest of players but he has a frog- like leap and is as strong as Valencia, if not stronger.

Lewandowski on the other hand may not be as good a goalscorer as Falcao per say but he is much more creative and brings other team members in play. Ina club like ours, and with any club with good attacking midfielders/ strike partners, bringing other into play and creating chances for other is a must, that's why I think Lewa would be better for us.

Mick

6.) Scout. Sometimes the player himself has a say ;). Again, I hope I'm wrong as I think he is steal at that rumoured price.

out of many seasons monitoring all the rumours going round about clubs, it does seem as though united are being heavily linked with young players much more than usual (rodriguez, wanyama, verratti, lamela, strootman?)
so do you all think sir alex is thinking ahead for when he retires, because I do fear for manchester united when Saf retires because the mentality may change.

Its awful very funny because its genuinly becoming more and more realistic this signing, real madrid will buy bale in the summer for 50 million - this will be there worry signing (when they lose miserably to barcelona to the title they spend loads of money and mix up the squad loads)

Why does everyone make out as though united have no money, there one of the richest clubs in the world and buying ronaldo would probably make a profit due to shirt sales and plus you'd probably guarenteed the title next season which will get you about 50 million so there's the money for you!

Vidic would get slaughtered by ronaldo, why would you want vidic in right back position, it wouldn't work.

He is so over-rated, he always over runs the ball and does the odd good thing. everyone only loves him because of his desire which I can't criticise
