According to the Telegraph AM are prepared to offer us first refusal on Costa and Felipe Luis if we drop our interest in Mata.
Its certainly going to be an interesting 10 days or so.

CAM

1.) Why would they not offer chelsea the players first?

The Manchester United and Jose marriage of convenience has never felt comfortable and there has always been a feeling of when, not if, it would all go horribly wrong.

Members of the club and many fans have from day one had doubts about Jose’s suitability. It was hoped over time he’d get the United way, change his character, play the football craved by the fans. Maybe Jose will feel he has never been given 100% support in terms of players signed and money spent.

Certainly the club needs to change and modernise. The board need to invest in a stronger management structure which includes a director of football and then they need to give the new dof everything they need to be successful.

The board also need to invest in facilities for the players, the decor of the club and the area in and around Old Trafford.

Apologies I pressed send too soon.

As I was saying the board need to invest in the facilities and area in and around Old Trafford. Ed02 has told us for a long time that the club is drab and uninspiring with a feel of a 1980’s motorway hotel about it. That added to Jose’s negative demeanour must make playing for the club almost impossible. Yes the players should be doing more, and I’m not defending them, but there’s so much wrong before we even get to the playing staff.

Our recent transfer policy has been laughable at best, with an emphasis on martekability and media appeal instead of buying players that make a team. We have an individual in charge of a team of individuals with no apparent unity or cohesion and it shows in our displays.

Jose must go. He looks completely devoid of ideas and fight and has lost the dressing room. Some players need to go. They don’t have the fight and desire to drag the club forward. But there’s so many things wrong and no quick fixes available.

I’d love the board to make a statement, sack Jose, get rid of all the players that don’t take pride in the shirt but more importantly hold their hands up and say they’ve got too much wrong. Until that’s all done, whoever is the manger and whichever players we buy it won’t make any difference.

Buy a few plants and scatter cushions - you’ll soon see results improving.

Whatever Mike the chef gave the lads for dinner today, I hope he's happy and now cooks the same meal before every match.

In all seriousness, LVG got the selection and tactics spot on today for an excellent three away points against a good side. Best performance side LVG took over.

A true United legend. Thanks for the memories.

Bebe, you will be missed

CAM

1.) At least he goes with a great story to tell the grandkids.
"I got rich never playing for Man Utd"
lol

According to the MEN Mr Woodwoody has left the tour. With the 'watch this space' speech yesterday hopefully something happens this time!

Also, all the best to mad Paddy at Juve. Very good player and a true United warrior.

CAM

1.) He left last years tour too for " urgent transfer business" that never happened so don't get too excited!

2.) 21 Jul 2014 16:01:44
I hope he is using a different travel company to the one he used when he left Oz last year and arrived on September 2nd!

Wish Evra all the best, he had his criticism on here but he is one player who knew what representing United was all about, true club legend.

3.) 21 Jul 2014 16:05:14
He left Australia this time last year and we are still waiting for the player he went to sign!

4.) Not been his best for a while but what a player when he was. Going back to when we won the champions league Evra rio and vidic were arguably the best in the world it's a shame to think they've all gone. The thing that will stand out most is the passion and love he has for the club.

Shawthing,
I thought the someone big who Paddy was eluding to was Schweinsteiger?
Ps I genuinely think that, it is not a cheap gag about how many letters in his name or the size of his shorts.

Hope it works out well for Celtic and Janko.
I thought Janko was well thought of by the club and it seems strange to let him leave permanently.

Let's hope Janko's leaving is because we have a much better prospect already with us (Varela?) or we have a better player coming in.

Coleman is better than Clyne and has longer contract so he is worth about 25 million imo.
If we can get him for 15 million and Evans or Rafael that seems good business.

If true, selling Kagawa is the right decision. A shame, but he has not lived up to his billing whilst at United.
Hopefully we've agreed first refusal on a couple of Dortmund players!

The question is can we get better than Vermaelen? By better I mean either Hummels, Mangala, Mirandha or Garay because I do not see the point in signing one these players and Vermaelen.

The chances are probably not and in my opinion he is of equal quality to other targets we have been reportedly looking at such as Indi, De Vrij and Moreno.

You never know if he is signed and told he is to be the leader of the backline and he gets some confidence and composure back he may well be a good signing, but another injury prone centre half is a worrying thought!

So long as he’s there to help ETH and not just to report back to Fergie then he could be an exshellent addition to the coaching team.

It’s a good question, and what Jose would like and us fans may want will certainly be different!

Jose needs players that will carry out orders effectively and to get us near to that level, playing how Jose wants to play we would need at least 5 first team players. Two new fullbacks, two new attacking players and a CM.

I’ll go with Meunièr and Danny Rose for the fullbacks, Willian and Perisic as the attacking players and Jorginho for CM.

I’m not saying I agree with the above or that those signings would make us competitive, it’s just my opinion on what Jose himself might like to see happen.
