Morning Eds.

Anything in the rumours of a potential move for Ashley Cole? Apparently he's a free agent.

Cheers.

I'd take him as a stop gap. But Rojo should be able to manage since he plays there for Argentina. Will give us a little bit more height at the back also.

2.) 16 Sep 2015 18:29:36
Doesn't Rojo play as the LCB of a back three for Argentina. Different role to LB.

If he could t get games at a lesser club then what hope does he have in the Premier League?

4.) 17 Sep 2015 07:36:26
A lesser club that managed to draw with Barcelona last night.

Hi Ed.

Paper Cadena Cope reporting we have bid €30M for Ander Herrera. Do you know if there is any truth in this?

Cheers. {Ed007's Note - It looks as if it is true.}

Is the lad any good?

2.) I watch (on TV a lot of Spanish football) He is a good player and around 23/24 but I've never though OMG we must sign this guy, as I did with Alcantara, that said he played very well against us 2 seasons ago. Just like Fellaini who had a £23m release clause ( I seriously hope we don't go back for either Baines, who I rate and Fellaini if the £36m refusal is true that's a more than fair offer) Herrera has a 36m euros release clause and we go in low typical of this transfer window.

Ed or anyone else, am I correct in thinking that if an English team wins the Europa League, only the top 3 in the PL will get a CL spot? Thanks.

Rudderpost

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Cheers Ed.

Same reply as the other day to this question:

15 Feb 2015 14:55:23
A liverpool fan tried to con me with this the other day and I told him where to go. The only way 4th place wouldn't be a champions league spot is if a team that finished outside the top 4 won the champions league, and a team that finished outside the top 4 won the Europa league, they would both make it and 4th place would miss out. In other words, it's not going to happen. There can be a maximum of 5 teams from one nation in the champions league next season so that the situation you mention cannot occur.

Hi Ed002. I know you're hesitant to talk figures but just wondering if the fact that we are paying Falcao £346k a week is about right?

Much appreciated.

Rudderpost

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

1.) I heard it was £250k week.

{Ed002's Note - The negotiations were around providing the player with a net wage at what was being asked.}

2.) I understood that Monaco were still paying some of his wages. Maybe that's wrong.

3.) Surely it would make more sense to let Monaco continue to pay his salary due to it being tax beneficial and MU offer a larger loan fee to cover it? The tax paid on the loan fee would be reclaimable.

I wonder if the move of Chicharito to Real Madrid facilitates the signing of Falcao to City. Just a thought.

Rudderpost

1.) I'd be very surprised if City signed Falcao. From a financial fair play point of view they are living dangerously already and they already have four very good strikers at the club.

2.) The Signing of Hernandez as I am aware is just a precaution just in case they fail to land One of their other two striker targets. Even with Hernandez they will still pursue other options.

Just over two days of the window left and a few journalists saying that Blind will be the last signing. I don't think this will be the case. I suspect the club are covering their tracks just in case we don't manage to sign Vidal/Carvalho. Coupled with from what Ed002 has told us, I would like to think that we will be bidding for one of them.

I think we should be confident re Vidal. Not just from LVG's latest comments, but if we are willing to spend such money on Di Maria, then one would assume we are willing to splash the cash for Vidal, who is much more necessary. He seems available and I think we will get him this week.

Rudderpost

1.) 24 Aug 2014 19:51:45
No doubt the club has the money, but the question is, are the owners willing to splash out the cash on another stellar signing after spending so much of it on Di Maria? Or would they rather bring in two players for that cash - e.g. Blind and De Jong? (random examples)

2.) Yes, I think they are. Every man and his dog knows that we are in desperate need of a CM. If we are willing to spend that amount of money on Di Maria then I think we will be willing to spend the necessary amount on Vidal.

3.) The important thing is don't lose heart we will be ok as gds says our next four games are winnable

4.) 24 Aug 2014 21:15:45
The last 2 games should have been winable
