I've always been a fan of fletcher but his best days are gone, time to say goodbye to him, cleverly, valencia, young and smalling. blackett and jones did ok but keane looks a fair way off yet. sadly, behind our front 3 we are very poor.we have dropped so far behind chelsea, city pool and arsenal we are going to have to be very patient for a long while yet.i only hope the glazers can see how far behind we are falling that they back the manager with the money he needs to stop the rot.the immediate future looks bleak but with time and money I think that l v g could turn us around
1.) Smalling was fine until he got injured. The only defender willing to push forward with the ball.
2.) I didn't like Smalling's performance. Blackett was better than him defensively. Jones also had a good game.
3.) Until he got injured.
can he stay fit
4.) I don't understand peoples criticism of smalling. He is a top class 'defender, with defender being the operative word.

Thought he had a good first half
6.) Jones and Smalling and Evans are decent centre backs Rojo will be good but midfield has a glaring weakness
7.) Smalling cannot play in the centre of the 3 he looks so uncomfortable bringing the ball out we must sign a cb who is comfortable on the ball

Let's face facts ,without European football it's not very unlikely in my opinion that the likes of Vidal will even consider us this summe. I'm not being defeatist here just realistic.andog
1.) If you siad to say Vidal Benatia is the next join he would be more inticed because of a secong world class player in
2.) You are very naive mate. Very little to do with european football when it comes to transfers.
3.) Hi Guys
I have to say Andog I don't agree with you I think in Vidal's case he has had a busy year and carries a knee injury.A season with just domestic football will give him a chance to regain his fitness.
4.) European Football is just a stick to beat us with when other clubs negotiate. An extra arrow in their quiver.
Lets face it we have failed with a great deal of World Class players we have attempted to buy for a long time now, the list is ridiculously long. During that time we were doing well in the CL, the problem is money, location and much more competition for those players.
5.) If Vidal is not even considering us, then we wouldn't be trying to sign him. Obviously!
6.) How do you even know we are trying to sign him , the club havnt said it
7.) 09 Aug 2014 14:59:51
Syd surely if we were really trying to sign him we would have made a bid? The imminent bid Ed002 spoke about a couple of weeks ago does not appear to have gone in yet.
{Ed002's Note - Yes it did, through a third party. It and a bid from elsewhere drove the deadline and ultimatum.}
8.) Ed are juve holding out for more money or do they just not want to sell
{Ed002's Note - Done to death - this was explained previously.}
9.) 09 Aug 2014 15:58:48
Thanks for the update Ed002, do you know if the bid was enough? so If Vidal asks for the move is the price agreed?
{Ed002's Note - It doesn't work like that. I explaine4d the situation. Juventus are trying to get several transactions agreed and are needing to balance the books, so it is a difficult time with players away and injured.}
