Interesting rumours regarding why Bruno was subbed at half time.

You never know if these things are true or not but I would believe it given Bruno's temper and we have seen him a couple of times having a go at different players on the pitch.

Apparently he blasted Bailly and had a go at Maguire in the dressing room.

Hope it's true. About time we had some type of leader with a bit of heart.

So why take him off if he’s demanding more?

Leahy, you can see on the pitch he is made of different stuff. Loves to have a go at people. Fair play to him, he leads by example too.

So why was he subbed? They were both crap. Fernandez didn't have a great half either, but he's been a million times better than either since he came. Captain Maguire my ar$e, absolutely useless.

I really hope these rumours are true, although disappointed but not surprised that Ole stuck up for Maguire if true, although it sounds like Bruno was in no fit state to come back out with how annoyed he was. Evra and Keane have talked about giving the players a good slap if they were in the dressing room, for too long they have had an easy ride, Bruno should be our captain and we missed a big chance when Maguire for arrested to strip him.

Hope so. somebody needed to give them what for and I’m sure ole didn’t do anything.

Totally agree, Leahy.

If true then that is the best thing i have heard in ages.

I heard that he was going nuts at a few of them, and fair play that's what a leader does. Told maguire he's not fit to wear the shirt or the armband. If it's true then that shows who the club captain should be. We can't accept performances like that at this club. And if somebody wants to stand up and have a go and take the responsibility then he's the man for the job.

I agree its the sort of reaction most fans want to see. But what does it say when he is the one subbed?

{Ed025's Note - it says quite a lot ken..

This is the rumour that originated from Goldbridge? Probably more fantasy than fact.

Agree GDS.

Not sure if anyone has seen it but there is footage of Bruno going back to Lisbon's dressing room, not sure when, and his tries to kick the doors of the hinges and is ranting and raving. I love seeing that passion when things go wrong.

Not sure it's a case of sticking up for Maguire, more like Bruno just needed time and needed to calm down.

I’ve not seen one reputable report of this- I’ve saw the tweet doing the rounds though. Bruno is the only one who leads, but it’s more likely he came off to try and be more defensive and keep the score down.

Interesting the rumour about Bruno being substituted by the manager at half time because he blasted several players including Maguire. Dressing rooms can be volatile places, there have been many stories of bust ups, people going head to head, often because others are not performing. Anyone who has played has seen it.

Substituting Bruno is an interesting and key decision. Passion, drive for better may have bubbled over, but controlling and using that situation should work in the managers favour if handled right. In Bruno he has been inspiring, pushing players to do better, he hasn’t always played well, but he had passion on the pitch.

So is the message now that playing poorly is accepted if you are certain players, we know who was poor yesterday, yet instead of hauling off the culprits, we haul off the player who may have been in their faces. If SAF had done that, Keane would likely have been off every game. Yes often he would have been Captain, but that didn’t stop him and other players stood up to him as well.

I haven’t seen a comment from Bruno after the game, has anyone? Unusually quiet. Has the manager throttled the passion from Bruno at precisely the time he should have been using it to get the team going? Given the second half performance, that looks another decision that may not be a good one. Will Bruno give his all for the manager after that?

If this is true, why was he subbed? That’s what concerns me most here.

This behaviour should be encouraged. Too many players are getting a free ride.

Far too many ifs here for people to make their minds up on the situation, seems like Bruno wouldn’t have been much use if he was that wound up.
