And it's back again, one win under the belt and Fred's not as bad as anyone says he is. CR7 is the greatest ever when many of you were recently slagging the man. Ole knows how to get results when his backs against the wall.

Astonishing this site sometimes, cracks were papered over. Fred is still dross, CR7 is definitely not the problem and no, the players dug ole out of this mess. It is only a matter of time before his luck runs out, and like Ken I'm hoping it's sooner rather than later.

Mate, I don’t think there are many people on the site disagreeing that ole isn’t great etc. But you have got to give a bit of credit where it’s due in places, second half it was a completely different team. We don’t know what was said at halftime, or what tweaks may or may not have been made. The subs worked and all made an impact I thought anyway. Ronaldo was working back and put in a huge shift.

I want a new manager, but last night in the second half I saw a TEAM playing for their manager. Now it shouldn’t take being 2-0 down and boos at half time to get a reaction from management and players and that needs addressed.

I saw a team playing well despite the manager.

Ole must give them some sort of game plan first half. I assume its players taking things upon themselves more than an inspirational team talk from Ole.

Caolan, the midfield of Fred and Mctominay looked lost.
As we were loosing 2-0, he brought on Pogba and the team as a whole started attacking.

Ole' setup is pragmatic. Only when we are back against the wall, the hand brakes are free.

Also mind that Atalanta were without 5 first teamers and their goal scoring CB limped off at half time.

Without ddg we would be 15th in league and 0 points on cl. Thank god he is back in to form.
We could have got 20m for Henderson i doubt we could get 5m now.

Playing like that against Liverpool on Sunday with quality players up front and it would have been 4 or 5 nil at half time.

Not disputing the first half set up was atrocious but it was changed at half time and I’ll give him some credit for that.

Ken henderson has been injuried and has only just come back a few games ago. You would still get decent money for him.

Demiral had a great first half.

Having watched the first half again this morning, it wasn't as bad as some matches we've played this year. Rashford looked the difference, stretching the Atalanta defence on a few occasions, he will be missed against Liverpool.

The Liverpool game could quite easily go our way. It really wouldn't surprise me if it did. This team have a knack if getting a result when it matters and taking the pressure off the manager.

However, the way Liverpool play, they could quite easily destroy us.

{Ed0666's Note - I think if Thiago was playing I would say we were favourites by a fair margin but without Thiago we’ll probably play Hendo, fab and Jones whose not match fit or 100% for this reason you have more than a chance. And there’s always the specter of Ronnie, Marcus Bruno and Mason, all legit match winners in their own right.

Isnt Rashford a doubt with a dead leg? Arguably our best player for the last game and a half.

Grim,

Doubtful but Ole said he is hopeful so fingers crossed, agreed he looks super sharp already, could be on for big numbers this season.

Back to the same on here, we lose it is Ole's fault, we win it is the players.

I don't get Rashford's detractors on here I really don't. He got 19 goals and 9 assists last season in a side that wasn't playing particularly well and while he was carrying injuries for 5-6 months (shoulder, ankle and foot) .

Get him fully fit and in a side that is playing well and he'd get 30+ goals and 15+ assists easily. Maybe more.

{Ed0666's Note - he’s a weapon and criminally underrated. Seems like a really good human being also.

Agreed Ed. Rashford is a class act. Love him on and off the field.

GDS2, I thought Ole was in charge of the squad.

Win or lose the performances on the pitch defines the manager and it hasn't been convincing at all.

Players not playing well or making mistakes on a consistent basis throughout a season puts the responsibility on the manager to rectify it OR if the player isn't good enough then put him on the bench and give someone else a chance.

Ole always does the exact opposite by rewarding under performing players with more opportunities and doesn't improve them either.
