So you watch Family Fortunes and what .?

2.) 16 Mar 2015 19:41:29
I remember years ago Led Dennis was the presenter. He asked " Name a bird with a lon neck"
Contestant replied "Naomi Campbell". Now this IS funny.

3.) 16 Mar 2015 19:46:23
It made me laugh. Caught the end just before Mr. Selfridge, now that's a show!

4.) 16 Mar 2015 20:31:11
Les Dennis, long neck !! Thunky chumbs.

5.) 16 Mar 2015 21:31:10
I remember someone asked to name a type of bean and answered les.

6.) 16 Mar 2015 22:32:55
The classic was when someone was asked a type of ache and he said filet o fish. yep and it cost him a car

{Ed007's Note - I didn't want to mention that in case nobody else had seen it!}

I don't watch as much football as I used to do and i'm certainly not as much of a football anorak as I used to be but who is verratti playing for PSG. he's an absolute menace, my 8 year old son is loving him

1.) 11 Mar 2015 21:39:57
He's the nearest thing to a Scholes replacement I've seen for a while (but very cynical too) but I don't ever envisage him coming to us. Probably end up at real madrid circumstances next.

2.) 11 Mar 2015 22:58:32
Verratti is the next generation after Scholes, Pirlo, and Xavi. Verratti and Modric are the two best all around playmakers in their prime now. They can pass, create, and escape with the best.

Kroos is like a Xabi Alonso, metronome who is not as dynamic. And Fabregas is a wonderful passer, but not as dynamic on the ball. Verratti, Modric, and I should add David Silva as well.

I'm always impressed by Pjanic at Roma.

for the last 30 minutes last night we had a great keeper, 2 good centre backs, 2 flying full backs supporting 2 wingers capable of coming inside and getting past his full back, a midfield player sitting and a midfield player linking up the play, 1 centre forward as a target man and the other playing on the shoulder of the defence willing and capable of stretching the defence. felt like dejavu and I loved it. my son always asked me the best formation to play and I always say 442 in possession and 451 when out of possession. I hope that we keep this formation of round pegs in round holes even if better quality players are sat on the bench.

gnev2

1.) And that all happened when we took Falcao off. hmmmm

2.) 17 Feb 2015 10:19:21
gnev,

It worked last night, we will have to wait and see if it works in other games, Preston didn't offer too much all over the pitch and you always felt like we might have too much for them, but the performance and the formation in the last 30 minutes was great to see.

I think, like you say, sometimes better players will have to sit out for the good of the team.

One thing I did enjoy last night which has not been mentioned yet was Valencia crossing the ball in with a bit of height and not just blasting it at the first defender. LVG said we have been working on the Fellaini goal in training, it seems like someone has finally shown Valencia how to cross, as he put a few decent lofted balls in last night, something he has not done for quite a long time.

3.) The last 30 minutes were a joy to watch but we need to be doing that over 90 minutes.

with numbers 5, 7, 9 and 11 needing new occupants this season. who is going to fill them. I think 5 garay, 7 Herrera, 9 not being filled and 11 januzaj

gnev2

{Ed004's Note - Garay has signed for a Russian team}

1.) Hummels #5
Januzaj #7
RvP #9
Robben #11

very speculative but I wonder if Chelsea would loan out mata to us until the summer. i'd rather see him sign permanently but I don't see it happening. if he is playing regular until the summer he will put himself in contention for spain in the summer, we are out of the running for league so were no threat to Chelsea, if he plays well against arsenal, city, Liverpool its helping out Chelsea. works for everyone I think

gnev2

1.) My initial thought was no way would Chelsea go for that but your logic makes sense. Still don't think it will happen but boy it's a sign of how far we've slipped this season.

2.) Chelsea would never loan Mata to him.

3.) Hi eds/posters, I had a few questions, now although I will speculate on figures in my post they're purely hypothetical and I'm just trying to make a point. Any info would be appreciated.

Now Mata, let's assume the player had the desire to leave and Manchester United were interested (purely hypothetical) could Manchester United buy his contract out in order to secure his services? Or is it more complicated than that? I only ask cause let's say he is paid 100,000 a week that's 5.2 million a year and a total of 12.8 million for the 2 and half years of his contract.

Am I away with the fairies with this one? Is this purely wishful thinking? Cheers guys.

{Ed002's Note - None of it is correct.}

4.) Liverpool fan in piece Now why would this happen, I assume the rationale for a mata loan signing would be to aid champions league qualification? With utds brand, image, buying power and allure for top players ( many of which Chelsea would look to pursue ) this would make no sence for Chelsea

it seemed to me that he said, 1-0 or just one goal. I saw that too, giggs body language and facial expression said to me, get out of my face and go away.

I saw players thriving in their preferred positions. we played with width which is something that I believe is essential. most people think 442 is dead but as long as it turns into 451 when defending I think its the best formation.

agreed on rvp. always in a good position to receive the right pass and it was delayed. Wilson should have put him through, Herrera could have slid him in instead of passing to fellaini who skied it from the edge of the box, he passed to Herrera when he could have shot.
