Great site, always read what's the Eds have to say and grateful for their insight. Just been at a garage in Cheshire and over heard someone say they have it on good authority that Sanchez has agreed terms with us? Not sure how reliable but thought I'd share as it's a rumour site.

I would be delighted if that turns out to be true!

2.) 12 Jul 2017 11:35:25
Love these types of rumours.

3.) 12 Jul 2017 11:53:01
Would prefer him to perisic.

Similar age and price. Although different types of players.

I hope we can get matic or dier for the cdm role and samedo/ fabhino for rb.

I still think we need another striker because martial and Rashford mainly play wide because of there pace.

4.) 12 Jul 2017 13:05:14
Sanchez is a great player who would undoubtedly improve any team but I wonder about his commitment and ethics. was it not Sanchez who laughed after his team conceded a 5th against Bayern? like I say, great player but I worry about whether he'd 'run through walls' for us. just MO.

5.) 12 Jul 2017 13:22:36
Exactly the type of player we need. He works harder than any Arsenal player, amazes me how one moment of seeming unprofessionalism can tarnish and undo a lot of the great things he does. It's BS as well.

Sanchez was clearly laughing at how ridiculous it was that his team had capitulated in the way it had, similar to how people can often laugh when they hear shocking news, or see something catastrophic happen. A common phrase used in life is, "if I didn't laugh I'd cry". There comes a point where you think, 'enough is enough' and that was his time, hence him not wanting to sign a new contract now. It was what pushed him over the edge and I totally understand why he did it.

He has carried Arsenal for years.

Slagging Sanchez for this is similar to asking all your mates to lend you money, only one of them is decent enough to lend you the money. Then when he asks for it back, you spend all your time slagging him off for chasing you for the money, to the very same "friends" that refused to lend you the money in your time of need.

6.) 12 Jul 2017 13:48:06
You seem bitter about a past experience there Beast ;) BTW totally agree re Sanchez.

7.) 12 Jul 2017 13:49:52
Completely agree beast!

It was sanchez shouti g at giroud and the others when arseanal drew back 3-3 i thik it was but the team spent the dying minutes celebrating instead of getting a 4th.

Sanchez was going mad!

8.) 12 Jul 2017 14:00:24
haha yeah mate, once or twice. Never a lender or borrower be is my advice, good way to lose friends and add needless stress.

9.) 12 Jul 2017 14:14:04
Only way I could see us getting Sanchez is if someone came other way as part of the deal like Smalling perhaps.

10.) 12 Jul 2017 15:53:12
I know one of the EDs mentioned Ambouydingdong had a questionable character -in one instance anyway, and that James Rodriquez was "flaky" if I remember the term correctly, I defer to the EDs opinions which are accurate no doubt - Sanchez is a different character, When I see Sanchez he looks to be fired up, hungry to win, toys out the pram when they don't win. I think I understand where he was coming from when he laughed on the bench more of a "FFS, here we go again " rather than something more sinister than that

One of the best players in Europe, the type that would light up O. T.

11.) 12 Jul 2017 16:06:53
If we managed to swap Alexis Sanchez for Chris Smalling then Ed Woodward should be given a knighthood. Maybe they could show the ceremony live on Arsenal TV as well.

12.) 12 Jul 2017 17:20:46
Agree with Beast on Sanchez' attitude he comes across as a real winner. It just seems to marry up to his all action playing style. I would take him over most players in Europe (including Neymar and the likes) but cannot see it happening sadly.

13.) 12 Jul 2017 20:40:55
Cracking attitude. He is a winger and in the greizman bale hazzard bracket. don't think it will happen but with all the players potentially available he is top class. Prob go to city or arsenal will keep him.

14.) 12 Jul 2017 21:47:54
GDS you made me laugh let's hope this rumour is true and we have the last laugh by winning the title with him.

15.) 12 Jul 2017 22:58:22
Someone who was fairly accurate in their predictions last year mentioned then that we would be getting Sanchez this summer. I can't remember who, but I've been curious to see if it actually happens.

Busy window and some great additions that were completely unexpected. Big thanks to all the Eds for your insight and opinion. It's going to be an interesting season!

It's seems inevitable now that Moyes is the man to takeover. I feel this shows a lack of ambition and that the club has got it's priorities all wrong. Appointing Moyes in an attempt to continue in Fergusons shadow will only lead to disappointment and failure, if Moyes was that good he wouldn't be at Everton after 12 years. Is loyalty the main criteria for the role?

If we think another long term manager can come in and continue to deliver season after season then we are mistaken. Name one other long term manager who has had sustained success! Fergie was a one off, never to be repeated by anyone so we may as well look for a change in tact. 3-5 years is a long tenure in the modern game, that's what the board should be looking at. Ways to continue making the club successful in the short / medium term otherwise we'll be too far away in the long term.

SAF was, is and will always be a legend and cannot be imitated so why are they even contemplating with the idea. A long term spell with Moyes will be a long term spell if mediocrity and under achievement.

Jiameuk

1.) Totally Agree Jiameuk, spot on!

2.) Sorry forgot to leave my name. Mediocrity beckons. Surely Longevity & Stability cannot be the only criteria to get the job. Bring in Dario Gradi then lol. Or even worse Arsene Wenger. I hear that Moyes is cut from the same cloth as Fergie er no Fergie ended the old firm domination in Scotland & won things inc in Europe, what has Moyes won?. I hear that Mourinho's style of play goes against him, really? And Moyes hit & hope is better is it? The reputation of the club under Jose would be tarnished, Really, did we care when Eric was at the club? Or was success more important? Come on we must not accept mediocrity at this club or we will go the same way as Aberdeen. MAD DOG.

3.) So short sighted, You have to remember that Moyes has been competing with SirAlex for 12 years so his chances of winning things were limitedby the great man

Fantastic update Ed and very welcome to see some of those names are still live on the list of people the club are working on. Would love Hummels over the other defenders but wouldn't say no to any of them at this point. Here's hoping to Di Maria, Hummels, cuadrado and Vidal just because I'm greedy.

Disagree Thorne, I think we have enquired about most of the above players but we're not encouraged to pursue and we have tried in past: fat ronaldo, ronaldino, kaka, del Piero, Kluivert, Batistuta and Nedved have all said how they nearly joined us. We just don't have the pull on the elite players outside our domestic league or we're not showing enough aggression when pursuing them as Citeh and Chelsea seem to get by. Before people start kicking off about the money they've spent, it's just a case in point of what is required in the modern game to compete and I'm sure we all want to do that.

I've had enough now, anticipation building up false hopes yet again. It's not as if we've dreamt this stuff up but club, ex players and media create a frenzy. We've been on the brink of Martinez, modric, bale, ronaldo, sneijder, vidal, Fabregas, kroos, ozil, Sanchez, Rossi, Barca dude that went to Bayern and schweinsteiger to name a few. Big worry for me is our inability to land overseas big name players in last 10+ years. Domestic players seem to have more desire to join, mata, van persie, berba plus a host of English players but we seem to constantly miss out. Veron is the last big name established player I can think of (might be a lesson there). I'm going to lower the bar now in that I can't see much else happening, anything that does is a bonus.

That's a great shout! He will be well connected with clubs, coaches and agents and should be a whole lot more productive in the market. Let's hope he does the business and we have a busy summer!

Reus 40m
Kroos 30m
Vidal 35m
Hummels 35m
Garay 17m

With player sales and retirements to cut the wage bill the above would be awesome!
